Safety, Efficacy and Pharmacokinetics Study of ALD518 in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

ALD518-003
Start date: October 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of ALD518 in three different doses in patients who have not had an adequate response to methotrexate.

NCT ID: NCT00866112 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

A Randomized Exercise Trial for Wheelchair Users

Start date: May 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

People with mobility disabilities are at greater risk than the general population for incurring health problems. Many of these conditions are preventable through behavior and lifestyle changes such as exercise and physical activity. Recent evidence suggests that people with disabilities experience the same physiologic response to exercise as the general population. Nonetheless, nearly three-fourths of those with disabilities report being entirely sedentary or not active enough to achieve health benefits. Despite some knowledge of issues that limit physical activity among this population, few studies have investigated methods for promoting physical activity adoption among people with disabilities, including wheelchair users. The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of a behavioral intervention to promote physical activity adoption over 6 months and maintenance of physical activity over another 6 months by community-dwelling manual wheelchair users.

NCT ID: NCT00862316 Completed - Knee Arthritis Clinical Trials

Oxford Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty With and Without Navigational Unit

Start date: May 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a computer navigational unit can improve operating time and consistency during Knee arthroplasty when compared to knee arthroplasty without a computer navigational unit.

NCT ID: NCT00859963 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Regenerex Tibial Tray Multi-Center Data Collection

Start date: March 2009
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this prospective clinical data collection is to document the performance and clinical outcomes of the Regenerex™ Tibial Tray.

NCT ID: NCT00859638 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

I Am Able: Population Based Rehabilitation in a Family Health Team

Start date: May 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

People who have long-term conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis etc. face challenges in staying active and able to participate in activities that are important to them. There is some research that suggests that a care model that focuses on physical functioning and helping patients to manage their own conditions will assist them to stay active and healthy longer. In this project, the investigators are testing whether physiotherapy and occupational therapy offered to groups of patients and information about rehabilitation offered to other members of the health care team can help people with chronic conditions to maintain their physical abilities.

NCT ID: NCT00858780 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Study Comparing The Effect On Disease Activity When Reducing Or Discontinuing Etanercept In Subjects With RA

DOSERA
Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study involves Rheumatoid Arthritis patients in regular clinical setting who are already on etanercept treatment and are in remission or in a low disease activity (LDA) state, and is intended to identify parameters that can serve as guidance in clinical settings. This study will consider the clinical and radiographic course in subjects when etanercept treatment is tapered or discontinued, and analyze the subjects' experience of disease worsening and the predictive values of clinical parameters, serum biomarkers and imaging on the clinical and radiographic course in different treatment groups. The effect of re-treatment with etanercept at treatment failure will also be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00858169 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Assessment of Wrist Joint and Knee Joint Inflammation in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis by Quantitative Three Dimensional Power Doppler Ultrasonography

3D sono in RA
Start date: March 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to: 1. To investigate the wrist joint synovial blood flow intensity and model by quantitative three-dimensional (3D) power Doppler ultrasonography (PDUS) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis before and after initiation of a new medicine and compare these data with routinely used clinical data and laboratory findings, such as pain score, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) 2. To investigate the intra-observer and inter-observer agreement of quantitative 3D PDUS assessment of the vascularity in wrist joints and knee joints using automatic volume scan.

NCT ID: NCT00856544 Completed - Clinical trials for Arthritis, Rheumatoid

A Study Comparing 2 Doses Of CP-690,550 Vs. Placebo For The Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis In Patients On Other Background Arthritis Medications

Start date: May 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This Phase 3 study is intended to provide evidence that CP-690,550 dosed 5 mg BID and 10 mg BID is safe and effective when used in combination with a variety of traditional disease modifying antirheumatic drugs in adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It is intended to confirm the benefits of CP-690,550 in improving signs and symptoms and physical function that were observed in the Phase 2 rheumatoid arthritis studies.
