Filter by:The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to examine the effect of ultrasound guided bilateral Parasternal Nerve Block combined with rectus sheath block on preoperative analgesia, opioid consumption and respiratory function in patients undergoing cardiac surgery via sternotomy. Half of participants will receive General Anesthesia combined with bilateral parasternal block and rectus sheath block while the other half receive General Anesthesia combined with bilateral parasternal block and infiltration of drainage exits sites with local anesthetic (without performing rectus sheath block)
This study aims to compare the analgesic effects of erector spinae plane block versus Superficial Parasternal Intercostal Plane Block block along with rectus sheath block after off-pump cardiac surgery
The goal of this prospective randomized study was to compare the efficacy of transversus abdominis plane block and transversalis fascia plane block for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: [Is transversalis fascia plane block more effective in postoperative analgesia? ] [Is there a difference between the duration of postoperative first analgesia requirement? ] Since the pain scores after the block at the end of the operation will be evaluated during the postoperative 24 hours, the participants will be asked to give a value between 0 and 10 in certain time periods.
During general anesthesia, objective monitoring for analgesia is still lacking. The administration of opioids relies on the experience of the anesthesiologist. There are some monitors, e.g., Analgesia Nociception Index (ANI), showing that they can evaluate analgesia in adults. Recently, a Newborn Infant Parasympathetic Evaluation (NIPE) monitor was released for assessing analgesia in children with age less than 2 years. The investigators aim to assess the efficacy of NIPE as a guide for intraoperative fentanyl administration in children under 2 years.
In the obese patient, adequate pain relief in the postoperative period is an important parameter that affects patient comfort and hospital stay. Increasing patient comfort and recovery quality can be achieved by avoiding undesirable effects such as nausea and vomiting, as well as analgesia. In our study, our aim is to evaluate the effect of dexamethasone added to multimodal analgesia on postoperative patient comfort in the obese patient group with a 40-item scale.
Most of the patients undergoing laparoscopic partial/radical nephrectomy can experience moderate or severe postoperative pain, and inadequate control of this pain can cause negative consequences such as development of chronic pain, pulmonary and cardiac events, and side effects of long term opioid usage. Due to these adverse outcomes, ultrasonography-guided plane blocks can be beneficial for these patients to decrease opioid consumption. In this study, the investigators aim to compare ultrasonography-guided plane blocks: Paravertebral block and subcostal transversus abdominis plane block and traditional method: patient controlled analgesia with opioids. The investigators hypothesized that analgesic efficacy in both paravertebral and subcostal TAP blocks will have similar outcomes but better than traditional method.

Retrolaminar block (RLB) and erector spinae plane block (ESPB) are alternative approaches to paravertebral block (PVB) and are advantageous in that they are easier and safer techniques compared with the traditional PVB. These blocks are considered to be compartment blocks or interfascial plane blocks. In these approaches, local anesthetics are assumed to penetrate the superior costotransverse ligament and reach the paravertebral space, although the needle tip is not advanced into the paravertebral space. the study aim to evaluate and compare the analgesic efficacy of retrolaminar plane block and erector spinae plane block.
