Filter by:This first-in-human study will evaluate safety, tolerability, anti-tumor activity, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of PHN-010, a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), in patients with advanced solid tumors.
The aim of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy of a proactive intervention to approach death thoughts among people with advanced cancer compared to usual care (the reactive approach) via a feasible approach with previous indicators of efficacy: Go-TAD (Give the Opportunity to Talk about Death). The benefits of the intervention will be evaluated in terms of: reduction of emotional distress and hopelessness and improvement the doctor-patient relationship, as well as improvement of quality of life for the patient. A Phase II randomized controlled mixed methods clinical trial (RCT) will be carried out within 4 Palliative Care units of tertiary care hospitals in Catalonia. Participants will be persons with advanced cancer defined according to the criteria of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Participants will be randomly assigned to an intervention group or control group. In the intervention group, the participants will receive a medical visit that will include the 4 open-ended questions comprising the Go-TAD intervention, while the control group will receive usual care. Between 24 and 96 hours later, a researcher from outside the center will assess study outcome measures. To strengthen the study conclusions, a qualitative study will be carried out in which the experiences of the participants in the intervention group and of their professionals who administered the Go-TAD will be explored in depth.
The PEARL Pilot is a phase II open-label trial. Participants will receive a single high-dose (25 mg) of psilocybin in the context of Psilocybin-assisted Existential, Attachment and RelationaL (PEARL) therapy.
The investigators will study SPECT imaging of radiopharmaceutical therapies given as standard of care or as part of other compatible research protocols. The goal is to validate the quantitative SPECT image reconstruction methods developed in this proposal, and to investigate the relation between dosimetry calculated from SPECT images and the outcomes. Patients will be recruited for SPECT/CT imaging during treatment. This is an observational study no additional new drugs or activities will be administrated. The investigators will perform SPECT imaging on a total of 80 patients (~20 each from year 2 to year 5). Each participant will be imaged 3 times after the first and last cycles of planned radiopharmaceutical therapy.
Exploratory study to evaluate the effect and safety of the use of Ocoxin® oral solution on the quality of life of paediatric patients with advanced stage solid tumours.
CIME is a multicenter, randomised, comparative, open-label phase III study aiming to compare the survival of patients suffering from MSI-H/dMMR locally advanced or metastatic oeasogastric adenocarcinoma treated by a bi-immunotherapy (experimental arm) versus standard current treatment (FOLFOX/XELOX + nivolumab : standard arm).
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of escalating doses of PTX-912 in patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. To evaluate the PK and immunogenicity profile of PTX-912. To evaluate the preliminary anti-tumor activity of PTX-912. Participants will be treated with PTX-912 via iv infusion, every 2 weeks until progression of disease, unacceptable toxicity, or 12 months of total study therapy.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate if the smartphone app, I-STAMP (Integrated Smartphone Technology to Alleviate Malignant Pain), helps participants with cancer pain manage symptoms and keep track of medications.
Gastric/GEJ adenocarcinomas are aggressive tumors with a high probability of death. Current treatment guidelines include two-drug cytotoxic chemotherapy with a fluoropyrimidine (mFOLFOX6: capecitabine or fluorouracil) and a platinum-based agent (CapOx: oxaliplatin or cisplatin). In addition, the FDA has recently approved nivolumab, a PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor, in combination with chemotherapy as first line treatment for advanced or metastatic gastric/GEJ cancer. TST001 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody against Claudin (a tumor marker found in gastric/GEJ cancer. In this study, the combination therapy of chemotherapy or chemotherapy and nivolumab with and without TST001 (a novel recombinant humanized antibody) could provide additional benefits to the management of these tumors.
The goal of this observational study is to measure and try to reduce leakage in precision medicine care in the community cancer clinic. The goal of precision medicine is to identify the best possible therapy the the patient based on the biology of the tumor. Leakage is defined as a failure or inefficiency of the system that leads to dropped or lost testing, reporting or action (including drug selection). It has been observed that there are healthcare disparities in the community setting compared to academic medical centers, particularly in the use of precision medicine. The main questions the study aims to answer are: - How much leakage occurs in the use of precision medicine in the community setting? - Can we reduce leakage by providing access to better tools and services typically found in the academic medical centers? Participants will not be directly impacted and will receive standard of care. Measurements will be made of how often physicians select the appropriate test for patients, and how often they select the most appropriate therapy for their patients before and after the implementation of tools created to reduce leakage. We hope to reduce leakage in with the use of advanced tools and services, and use this study as a model to improve healthcare in the community cancer setting.
