Mobile Education System to Improve Disease Knowledge, Self-efficacy and Quality of Life in Patients With Heart Failure

Heart failure (HF) is an incurable and complex disease syndrome with sophisticated disease trajectories. The guideline for HF management suggests that treatment should include adequate education to help patients have better self-management ability, and improve their quality of life and prognosis. However, how to provide massive amount of HF patients a continuous, complete and individualized disease care education from hospitalization, post-discharge, to home for months is a difficult problem. This study plans to develop an automated and intelligent education system for HF on the mobile device "Line" platform. Through this platform, we hope to make the HF education continuous for 3 months from hospital to post-discharge period. We hypothesize that (1) this intervention can improve knowledge, self-care, emotional stress, self-efficacy, quality of life and disease outcomes in patients of HF; (2) the system developed in this study can reduce the hours of nursing work while improve the quality of education and become the best clinical auxiliary education tool.

A Trial to Learn if the Combination of Fianlimab, Cemiplimab, and Chemotherapy is Safe and Works Better Than the Combination of Cemiplimab and Chemotherapy in Adult Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer That Can be Treated With Surgery

This study is researching an experimental drug called fianlimab (also called REGN3767) with two other medications called cemiplimab and platinum-doublet chemotherapy, individually called a "study drug" or collectively called "study drugs", when combined in this study. The study is being conducted in patients who have stage resectable stage II to IIIB (N2) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that can be treated with surgery. The aim of the study is to see how effective the combination of fianlimab, cemiplimab, and chemotherapy is in comparison with cemiplimab and chemotherapy as peri-operative therapy in participants with NSCLC. The study is looking at several other research questions, including: - What side effects may happen from taking the study drugs - How much of each study drug is in the blood at different times - Whether the body makes antibodies against the study drugs (which could make the drugs less effective or could lead to side effects) - How administering the study drugs might affect quality of life

Bootle Blast: Understanding the Family Experience

One in 60 children have a physical disability that can impact activities and participation. Occupational and physical therapies can be of great benefit, but are costly and difficult to access. Working with children, parents and clinicians, the investigators developed a mixed reality video game, Bootle Blast, which children can play to develop motor skills. Using a 3D sensor, Bootle Blast tracks movements and manipulation of real-life objects. Since 2017, Bootle Blast has been used in clinics by Holland Bloorview, Canada's largest children's rehabilitation hospital. Home use of Bootle Blast has resulted in positive clinical outcomes for children with cerebral palsy. Bootle Blast is not yet commercially available and has yet to be trialed in "real-world" contexts. To understand real-world implementation, Bootle Blast will be trialed for 14 weeks in the homes of 60 young people (6 to 17 years) with any motor condition that could be addressed by the Bootle Blast system, regardless of their diagnosis. The investigators will assess feasibility (e.g. independent home setup, ability to set/meet self-directed play time goals), enablers/barriers to use, and perceived value. User experience will inform product, training and resource development. The research team combines expertise in engineering design, medicine, physiotherapy, qualitative methods, commercialization, knowledge translation, and includes young people with lived experience.

Role of Sirolimus in Treatment of Microcystic , Mixed Lymphatic and Vascular Malformations

Lympho-vascular malformations result from errors in embryologic vasculogenesis involving capillaries, veins, arteries, lymphatics, or a combination of these. Infantile haemangiomas & Vascular malformations like : Capillary malformations & Venous malformations : they increase in size and never regress on their own. & They are generally present at birth, they enlarge in response to infection, hormonal changes or trauma . Lymphatic malformations can be classified into macrocystic (cyst diameter >1cm), microcystic (cyst diameter <1 cm), or mixed , in macrocystic lymphatic malformations, surgery and sclerotherapy are effective . Surgery of microcystic lymphatic malformations remains challenging due to their infiltrative nature & Sclerotherapy is often impossible. As especially large microcystic and mixed malformations are still a therapeutic challenge, pharmaceutical treatment as sirolimus is used in last years as main line of treatment with great efficacy.

The goal of this prospective, multi-center, non-blinded, non-randomized, non-intervention clinical trial is to compare immunologic, virologic and epigenetic factors in patients with active multiple sclerosis in standard 2.line treatment with ocrelizumab, rituximab, ofatumumab or natalizumab in Region Midt, Denmark. It aims to answer how the immunologic, virologic and epigenetic response in these patients are compared to healthy controls, and analyze their treatment effect in relation to this response. Participants will get an extra blood sample, when they have their routine blood samples taken.

Pilot Study of Memory-like Natural Killer (ML NK) Cells After TCRαβ T Cell Depleted Haploidentical Transplant in AML

This phase I/II pilot study aims to enhance the effectiveness of stem cell transplant for children and young adults with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Patients will undergo a stem cell transplant from a half-matched family donor. One week later, patients will receive an additional infusion of immune cells and a drug called interleukin-2. To mitigate the potential complications associated with graft-versus-host-disease, the donated stem cell product undergoes a process that removes a specific type of immune cell. After transplant, recipients are administered additional immune cells known as memory-like natural killer (ML NK) cells. These cells are derived by converting conventional natural killer cells obtained from the donor. The infusion of a modified stem cell product, along with administration of ML NK cells may help prevent the development of GvHD while simultaneously improving the efficacy of the treatment.

A Study of Disitamab Vedotin Alone or With Other Anticancer Drugs in Solid Tumors

This clinical trial is studying solid tumor cancers. A solid tumor is one that starts in part of your body like your lungs or liver instead of your blood. Once they've grown bigger in one spot or spread to other parts of the body, they're harder to treat. This is called advanced or metastatic cancer. Participants in this study must have breast cancer or gastric cancer. Participants must have tumors that have HER2 on them. This allows the cancer to grow more quickly or spread faster. There are few treatment options for patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors that express HER2. This clinical trial uses an experimental drug called disitamab vedotin (DV). Disitamab vedotin is a type of antibody drug conjugate or ADC. ADCs are designed to stick to cancer cells and kill them. This clinical trial uses a drug called tucatinib, which has been approved to treat cancer in the United States and some other countries. This drug is sold under the brand name TUKYSA®. This study will test how safe and how well DV, with or without tucatinib, is for participants with solid tumors. This study will also test what side effects happen when participants take these drugs. A side effect is anything a drug does to the body besides treating the disease.
