Filter by:This clinical trial tests whether atorvastatin prevents metastasis of resected high-risk stage IIA melanoma.The vast majority of melanomas are diagnosed at an early, localized stage. However, approximately 10-15% of these localized melanomas will eventually metastasize, despite appropriate local treatment. Once metastasis occurs, median survival is less than two years. Melanomas at high risk of metastasis can be identified by gene expression profiling. Statin drugs, like atorvastatin, have been used to treat high cholesterol for the prevention of major adverse cardiovascular events, but not for preventing melanoma metastasis. Statins could prevent melanoma metastasis through decreasing tumor cell migration, decreasing tumor cell adhesion, and increasing immune system response. Statins are also efficient inhibitors of new lymphatic vessels formation. Since tumor lymphatic vessels serve as highways to lymph nodes and may suppress immune system responses, statins may block a critical step towards melanoma metastasis. Using atorvastatin may have the potential to prevent metastasis and improve outcomes in patients with resected high-risk melanoma.
This study will conduct a prospective cohort study to verify the predictive value of ctDNA-MRD longitudinal monitoring model in predicting postoperative recurrence, verify whether ctDNA-MRD longitudinal monitoring model can indicate recurrence earlier than imaging examination, and explore the feasibility of guiding adjuvant therapy after curative treatment based on this model.
The goal of this observational study is to facilitate standardized nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) outbreak investigations in healthcare centers. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Are respiratory NTM isolates identified as having membership in a suspected healthcare outbreak highly related based on whole genome sequencing? - Does epidemiologic investigation support healthcare-associated patient-to-patient NTM transmission? - Does healthcare environmental sampling support healthcare-associated NTM acquisition? If healthcare-associated NTM outbreaks are suspected, participants identified as having membership in a cluster of highly-related NTM infections will complete a demographic questionnaire.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of perioperative Disitamab Vedotin plus Toripalimab and XELOX versus Disitamab Vedotin plus Toripalimab versus XELOX in subjects with HER2-expressing resectable locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms that arise from the endocrine cells of the gastroenteropancreatic tract. The diagnostic work-up of these tumours include Computed Tomography (CT), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The majority of these tumours express somatostatin receptors on their surface. For this reason, in addition to traditional imaging exams, diagnostic work-up of GEP-NETs should include a Positron Emission Tomography/CT with 68Ga labeled somatostatin analogues targeting somatostatin receptors with high sensitivity and specificity. 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT scan is a corner stone to assess GEP- NET patients at different stage of disease and it is the standard functional imaging modality to study well-differentiated Pan-NETs, as reported in the being also included in the guidelines of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). Moreover, quantitative parameters extracted from 68Ga- DOTA-peptides PET imaging have demonstrated their prognostic utility as markers for progression-free survival and disease specific mortality in patients affected by NET. Additionally, 18F-FDG PET can be used for evaluating the possible presence ofa high-grade component within the tumour itself. The accurate morphofunctional characterization is of utmost importance in the field of GEP-NET. the advent of new hybrid scanners, namely PET/MRI, opens the way to an innovative diagnostic work- up that can be applied to GEP-NETs. In fact, MRI plays a role as morphological imaging modalities for a better characterization of soft-tissue and liver parenchyma compared to CT; moreover, the low radiation exposure related to MRI, makes this imaging modality more suitable for patients requiring several imaging during follow-up. Patients requiring 68Ga-DOTA peptides (68Ga-DOTATOC) PET scan and eventually MRI scan, can be studied in a single session examination, by using 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/MRI. Considering the rarity of GEP_NETs, it is quite difficult to collect a sufficient number of patients in order to investigate the accuracy, predictive and prognostic value of the currently available imaging technique in this scenario. Based on these considerations, the possibility to analyze PET images deriving from both PET/CT and PET/MRI scans of patients affected by GEP-NET is of fundamental relevance in order to provide answers to the currently unmet clinical needs.
Conflicting reports of the association between early postoperative non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) administration and anastomotic leak (AL) after rectal surgery have continued. The definition of AL and the exposure of NSAIDs differ from each other among studies, which may result in the different conclusions. The aim of this retrospective study was to clarify the effect of NSAIDs on anastomotic leak from new angels.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of the combination of Cadonilimab and FOLFOX regimen compared to FOLFOX regimen alone in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy of pMMR/MSS locally advanced colorectal cancer. The main question aims to answer are: Question 1: Compare the pathological complete response rate between the combination of Cadonilimab and FOLFOX regimen and the FOLFOX alone. Question 2: Compare the survival outcomes and safety between the combination of Cadonilimab and FOLFOX regimen and the FOLFOX alone. Two groups of participants will receive different new adjuvant chemotherapy regimens, and their efficacy will be compared.
As a rare disease listed in the First Catalogue of Rare Diseases in China (National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, 2019), PNH is poorly studied in China subse-quently leading to the inadequate elucidation of disease characteristics and clinical outcomes. Eculizumab was recently approved by NMPA. The availability of Eculizumab in China pro-vides people living with PNH with a new treatment option that can reduce disease symptoms and prevent the dysregulated complement system from causing further damage. A Phase Ⅳ study is necessary to understand the natural history of disease and the clinical outcomes with different medical interventions.
