Public safety personnel (PSP; e.g., border services personnel, correctional workers, firefighters, paramedics, police, public safety communicators) are frequently exposed to potentially psychologically traumatic events. Such events contribute to substantial and growing challenges from posttraumatic stress injuries (PTSIs), including but not limited to posttraumatic stress disorder. The PSP PTSI Study has been designed to evaluate an evidence-informed, proactive system of mental health assessment and training among Royal Canadian Mounted Police (www.rcmpstudy.ca) for delivery among diverse PSP (i.e., firefighters, municipal police, paramedics, public safety communicators). The training is based on the Unified Protocol for the Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders, adapted for PSP, and named Emotional Resilience Skills Training (ERST). The subsequent PSP PTSI Study results are expected to benefit the mental health of all participants and, ultimately, all PSP.
Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) is a sino-nasal chronic inflammatory disease that strongly affects patients' quality of life, especially in difficult-to-treat cases. In severe uncontrolled CRSwNP, the inflammation is mostly driven by a type 2 inflammatory pathway and its management has been rapidly changing during the last 2 years due to Dupilumab approval. It is a fully human monoclonal antibody that binds the alpha subunit of IL-4 receptors (IL-4Rα type 1 and type 2) to inhibit IL-4 and IL-13 signaling. So far, randomized clinical trials have assessed efficacy and safety of Dupilumab in a large number of patients, whereas evidences in real life clinical practice are limited to few monocentric series. Herewith, the investigators present a multicenter, observational nationwide retrospective real-life study with the aim to confirm the effectiveness and the safety of Dupilumab over the first year of treatment in a real life setting. The primary objective is to evaluate the volumetric reduction of polyps by measuring the variation of total Nasal Polyp Endoscopic Score (NPS). The secondary objectives are: - the evaluation of changes in nasal symptoms, olfactory function and nasal obstruction - the assessment of the patients' quality of life - the recording of major and minor complications - the evaluation of the response to the therapy, according to EPOS2020 criteria and EUFOREA2021 - the assessment of efficacy based on concomitant disease (Asthma and ASA triad) - the evaluation of potential predictors of clinical response to the therapy
To compare the level of circulating functional mitochondria in the serum of vitiligo patients as compared to controls
Background: Communication of information about risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D) alone has not been associated with changes in habitual behaviors among individuals of European ancestry. In contrast, the use of wearable devices that monitor physical activity (PA) has been associated with changes in behavior in some studies. It is uncertain whether risk communication might enhance the effects of wearable devices. We aim to assess the effects on wearable-device-measured PA of communicating genetic risk for T2D alone or in combination with goal setting and activity prompts from a wearable device among overweight or obese East Asians. Methods: In a parallel group, randomized controlled trial, a total of 355 overweight or obese East Asian individuals aged 40-60 years will be allocated into one of three groups: 1 control and 2 intervention groups. Blood samples will be used for estimation of T2D genetic risk and analysis of metabolic risk markers. Genetic risk of T2D will be estimated based on 113 SNPs associated with T2D among East Asians using an established method. All three groups will receive a Fitbit device. Both intervention groups will be given T2D genetic risk estimates along with lifestyle advice, but one of the intervention groups will additionally use Fitbit's step-goal setting and prompt functions. Questionnaires and physical measurements will be administered at baseline, immediately after intervention delivery, and 6 and 12-month post-intervention following standard operating procedures. The primary outcome is time spent in moderate-to-vigorous PA measured through the Fitbit. Secondary outcomes include other parameters of wearable-device-measured PA, sedentary time, and sleep, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, five intermediate metabolic risk markers, hand grip strength, self-reported PA, self-reported fruit and vegetable consumption and smoking status, and a list of psychological variables. Discussion: This study will be the first randomized controlled trial using the combination of communication of T2D genetic risk with standard functions of wearable devices in any population. Findings will inform strategies to prevent T2D through lifestyle modification.
The investigator aims to conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial to test the feasibility of two symptom management programs for college-age individuals with recent concussions and anxiety, TOR-C 1 and TOR-C 2. The investigator will assess the feasibility of recruitment procedures (screening, eligibility, and enrollment) and data collection as well as the feasibility, credibility, and acceptability of the programs (adherence, retention, fidelity, and satisfaction), following prespecified benchmarks. Both programs will be delivered virtually (Zoom).

This is a study of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) with or without lenvatinib (E7080/MK-7902) as a first line intervention in a PD-L1 selected population with participants with recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Hypotheses include: - Pembrolizumab + lenvatinib is superior to pembrolizumab + placebo with respect to Objective Response Rate (ORR) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) by blinded independent central review (BICR). - Pembrolizumab + lenvatinib is superior to pembrolizumab + placebo with respect to Progression Free Survival (PFS) per RECIST 1.1 as assessed by BICR. - Pembrolizumab + lenvatinib is superior to pembrolizumab + placebo with respect to overall survival (OS).
Study Title: A real-world study of valvular heart disease in Jiangxi Province Research Objectives: ① Main objectives: To examine the current incidence of valvular heart disease in Jiangxi Province, to establish a "Formal treatment model" for patients with valvular heart disease, and to manage the collection of diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic data on patients. ② Secondary objective: To investigate the composite of all-cause mortality, disabling stroke, permanent pacemaker implantation, and moderate or greater valve regurgitation in the "Formal treatment model" group and the "Conventional treatment model" group. The Conventional group was matched to patients who were not in the " Formal treatment model " during the same period. Design type: a prospective, observational, real-world study (at least 1.5 years). No pre-established fixed treatment protocols, only a Formal treatment model,with all treatment choices made entirely by clinicians following relevant textbooks, expert consensus on clinical guidelines, and based on the patient's condition. Subjects: All patients with moderate to severe heart valve disease were collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University and hospitals at all levels in Jiangxi Province from September 2022 to September 2023.
