Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a non-invasive method for visualization of the coronary arteries. The anatomical information obtained by CCTA, however, is rarely integrated into a subsequent coronary intervention. The CT-FOCI trial aims to evaluate, in a randomized setting, the benefit of implementing the information obtained by CCTA as part of the invasive examination using a CT-guided algorithm (CTGA). Patients (n=120) with symptoms of stable angina pectoris will be randomized 1:1 after CCTA has determined at least 1 stenosis with luminal diameter reduction of minimum 50% in a vessel segment > 2 mm in diameter. Subsequent, invasive examination and intervention will utilize the information available according to randomization. Primary efficacy endpoints are a reduction in patient radiation exposure, procedure time, procedural utensils, and contrast use. Secondary endpoints is significant stenosis in the non-target vessel, only available in the conventional group.
this is an observertional study aimed at Study the association between Insulin resistance estimated by HOMA and Angiographic Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Non Diabetic & Non Obese Patients.
ULTRA is a multicenter, observational, retrospective registry, enrolling consecutive patients treated with ultrathin coronary DES (coronary stent with strut thickness < 70 um) for coronary bifurcation lesions, left main disease, chronic total coronary occlusion, and in-stent restenosis regardless of their clinical presentation. Target lesion failure (TLF a composite endpoint of cardiovascular death, target vessel myocardial infarction, target lesion revascularization and definite stent thrombosis) will be the primary end point, while its single components will be the secondary ones along with all-cause death, all acute myocardial infarction (excluding peri-procedural AMI), target vessel revascularization and BARC major bleedings (BARC 3-5). Due to the retrospective, observational nature of the registry, no formal sample size estimation is required. Patients complying with detailed inclusion criteria and with a minimum follow up of 6 months will be enrolled.
The overarching goal of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate the effect of a collaborative quality improvement (C-QIP) intervention (consisting of non-physician health workers, text messages for a healthy lifestyle, and a clinical decision support system) on processes of care and clinical outcomes among individuals with previous cardiovascular disease in India.
This registry will provide exploratory and descriptive information regarding contemporary practice patterns of parenteral antiplatelet therapy in the PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) setting and will investigate as well the short-term effectiveness and safety of the currently available parenteral antiplatelet agents in a cohort of "real-world" patients undergoing PCI in Spain.
This study will incorporate a prospective randomised open blinded end-point trial in participants with stage 2, 3 or 4 melanoma treated with ICI to evaluate the impact of statin therapy on changes in coronary plaque burden and composition.
The incidence of coronary heart disease in young people is not uncommon and the investigators will explore the factors contributing to this outcome
The investigators propose to genotype males and females at age 40 years and older, who are asymptomatic and without known heart disease (N=2000). DNA from a blood sample will be genotyped for millions of genetic risk variants for CAD by Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center Clinical Laboratory (HGSC-CL) in a CLIA-approved laboratory. The overall objective after 2 years is to determine if genetic screening for risk of CAD in asymptomatic men and women has the discriminatory power to detect those at highest risk who would potentially benefit most from appropriate primary prevention. It will also determine whether the GRS is appropriate for different ethnic and race groups such as Hispanics, African Americans and Whites, and to what extent those individuals knowing that they are at higher risk, are more likely to seek further advice on management of the risks (either through changes in lifestyle or therapy).
Anomalous Aortic Origin of the Coronary Arteries (AAOCA) is a rare congenital disease that may cause sudden death in young subjects. Frequently the first and only presentation is with an acute event (such as myocardial infarction or sudden cardiac deaths) during physical effort. Not only symptoms are often absent, but also provocative tests fail to induce ischemia or related signs, showing in most patients negative results. For these limitations, the decision to undergo corrective surgery is based on the morphologic characteristics without the support of a functional evaluation. The study focused on developing a personalized ischemic risk assessment with the aid of fluid dynamic simulations. The simulation system integrate clinical data from different diagnostic sources and integrate them with coronary blood flow evaluation at rest and during simulated physical effort.
