NCT ID: NCT00972114 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

CABG Combined Pedicled Omentum Wrapped Autologous Atrial Tissue Patch Cardiomyoplasty for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

Start date: October 2009
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is in a phase I/II safety and efficacy study to evaluate the clinical effect of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) combined pedicled omentum wrapped autologous atrial tissue patch cardiomyoplasty for patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy.

NCT ID: NCT00926874 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Coronary Syndrome

Comparative Study of Arterial Properties After an Ischaemic Stroke or an Acute Coronary Syndrome

AVC/SCA
Start date: November 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Observational

A pilot, prospective, comparative study. To include both male and female patients who have presented an ischaemic stroke (full stroke or TIA) or an ACS, 5 to 30 days prior to inclusion. The proposed study aims to investigate and analyse the differences in functional and structural arterial properties between the patients who presented an ischaemic stroke and those who presented ACS. The hypothesis is that the patients in both groups will present differences partly in terms of their "traditional" cardiovascular risk factors, but also in terms of their arterial properties. All of the confounding factors studied (cardiovascular risk factors, treatments) will be taken into account in order to explain the differences in the arterial properties found between the two groups. Furthermore, the prevalence of signs and symptoms in the two populations will be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00899587 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Diabetic Macular Ischemia

Evaluation of the Effects of Oxygen Therapy and Enalapril for Diabetic Macular Ischemia

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

In this study, patients were divided into 3 group with 35 cases including: 1.oxygen 2.enalapril 3.control. In the beginning of the study, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were measured. Patients in the oxygen group were given oxygen 10 lit/min 1 hour twice a day at the first month, once a day at the second month and every other day at the third month. In the enalapril group, patients were given enalapril 5 mg every night and placebo was given for the patients in third group. At the end of first month the patients' vision was checked again and at the the end of the third month the first physical examinations were performed. In the first group, arterial blood gas (ABG) was taken before and after oxygen therapy as well.

NCT ID: NCT00874601 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Valsartan Efficacy on Modest Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Ischemic Stroke

VENTURE
Start date: October 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The manipulation of blood pressure in acute cerebral ischemia has been a matter of debate until now. The investigators are clearly in need of more detailed data on how antihypertensive treatment affects outcome in acute phase of stroke. This study will assess the effects of modest blood pressure (BP) lowering manipulation in acute period of ischemic stroke on death or dependency at 90-day.

NCT ID: NCT00825773 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

A Study to Evaluate Safety and Efficacy of the ExcelTM Sirolimus Eluting Stent With a Biodegradable Polymer Versus Sirolimus Eluting Stent With Non-Biodegradable Polymer in the Treatment of Patients With de Novo Coronary Artery Lesions

EVOLUTION
Start date: October 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.: A Randomized Study to Evaluate Safety and Efficacy of the Excel Sirolimus Eluting Stent with a Biodegradable Polymer Versus Sirolimus Eluting Stent with a Non-Biodegradable Polymer in the Treatment of Patients with de novo Coronary Artery Lesions.

NCT ID: NCT00823563 Recruiting - Chest Pain Clinical Trials

Sex Differences in Coronary Pathophysiology

Start date: June 2007
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a research study evaluating possible causes of chest pain (or an anginal equivalent, such as fatigue resulting in a decrease in exercise tolerance, shortness of breath, or back, shoulder, neck, or jaw pain) in people with no evidence of significant coronary artery disease on their coronary angiogram (pictures of the blood vessels in the heart). The purpose of the research study is to determine if there is diffuse atherosclerosis (plaque) not appreciated by angiography, or if the coronary endothelium (lining of the blood vessels in the heart) and/or microcirculation (small vessels in the heart that are not easily seen with an angiogram) are not functioning properly in those who have chest pain (or an anginal equivalent), but normal coronary arteries on angiography. Specifically, we are interested if these findings are more common in women than men.

NCT ID: NCT00813059 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy

Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy

Start date: February 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Non-Arteritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION) is a disease producing swelling of the optic nerve (the "cable" going from the eye to the brain) resulting in decreased vision. About 15% of patients will experience NAION in the second eye; many of these patients will be left legally blind. Currently, there is no treatment for NAION and for patients in whom the second eye becomes involved by the disease the outcome can be devastating. The investigators are conducting a study where the investigators will inject a medication into the involved eye of patients with NAION. This medication might decrease the swelling of the optic nerve and improve their vision in that eye.

NCT ID: NCT00768495 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Limb Ischemia

Hyperspectral Imaging Pre and Post Endovascular Intervention

CLI-Pre/Post
Start date: October 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This trial will collect tissue oxygenation data via hyperspectral imaging before and after endovascular procedures.

NCT ID: NCT00762333 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

Circulating Markers for Ischemic Heart Disease

Start date: June 2007
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this research is to determine if two proteins in the blood are increased during acute myocardial infarction and whether their levels are higher in those who develop heart failure than those who do not. These two proteins are produced and potentially released when the heart muscle is damaged. They may then be released into the blood and be detected by standard method in the research laboratory. At this time, detection of an increase in these proteins in the blood is not known to be associated with any disease or myocardial infarction.

NCT ID: NCT00747279 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Comparison of Two Strategies for Glycemic Control in Acute Ischemic Stroke

Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this prospective randomized controlled trial was to compare intensive insulin therapy with a carbohydrate restrictive strategy in patients with acute ischemic stroke evaluating the outcome through the Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended, hospital mortality and NIHSS during the ICU stay.
