There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will look at the benefit of decreasing food insecurity and improving glucose control among women who either report gestational diabetes (GDM) at 20-28-weeks or have type 2 diabetes (T2DM) with a confirmed pregnancy. Participants will receive a grocery prescription with delivery through Instacart at the start of the study or after 12 weeks or frozen medically tailored meals delivered from Door Dash. Researchers will compare the grocery prescription program, MTM (medically tailored meals), relative to standard of care to see if the impact on these food as medicine programs can improve glucose control over 12-weeks as compared to standard of care.
This study aims to determine the efficacy of a quadratus lumborum (QL) block in decreasing postoperative pain in patients undergoing myomectomy for uterine fibroids. A QL block is a temporary anesthetic injection in the quadratus lumborum muscle, a muscle in the lower back, that has been previously shown to significantly reduce postoperative pain levels in patients undergoing abdominal and pelvic surgery. Because of its demonstrated effects, the QL block is becoming a standard of anesthesia and surgical care. Since participants will be undergoing a myomectomy procedure, the investigators believe that participants may qualify to participate in this study. The investigators will be comparing patients who receive the QL block (in addition to standard anesthesia and postoperative pain care) with patients who do not receive the QL block (in addition to standard care). The participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and may or may not actually receive the block.
The purpose of this study is to measure the long-term safety and tolerability of efgartigimod PH20 SC in adult participants with IIM who previously participated in ARGX-113-2007. Secondary objectives include efficacy measures of efgartigimod PH20 SC in participants with IIM.
The study is testing a new study medicine to treat people with high levels of fat in the blood. The main aim of the study is to see if the new study medicine is safe and how it works in the body. Participants will either get NNC0491-6075 (the new study medicine) or placebo (a "dummy medicine" without active ingredients). Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. NNC0491-6075 is a new medicine which cannot be prescribed by doctors. The study has 3 parts (Part A, Part B and Part C). In Part A, investigators look at the effect of the study medicine after a single dose in healthy participants. Participants will get the study medicine either as injection(s) under the skin or as an infusion into a vein by the study staff. In Part B, investigators look at the effect of receiving the study medicine once weekly for four weeks in participants with high levels of fat in the blood but who are otherwise healthy. Participants will get the study medicine as injections under the skin by the study staff. In Part C, investigators look at the effect of the study medicine after a single dose in healthy participants of Japanese origin. Participants will get the study medicine either as injection(s) under the skin or as an infusion into a vein by the study staff. The study will last for about 18 months in total for Part A, Part B and Part C. Participants in Part A and Part C will be in the study for about 139 days each, from screening to the final visit while in Part B they will be in the study for about 160 days from screening to the final visit.
This study will be conducted with In-clinic visits and treatment at home for each patient with established Parkinson's disease (PD) experiencing daily OFF episodes.
Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), or fat-related liver inflammation and scarring is projected to be the leading cause of cirrhosis in the United States (U.S.) within the next few years. Women are at disproportionate risk for NASH, with approximately 15 million U.S. women affected. There is an urgent need to understand risk factors for NASH and its progression in women, and sex hormones may provide a missing link. This study will study the contribution of androgens to liver injury and progression in PCOS and mechanistic role of dysregulated lipid metabolism and visceral adiposity in this process. Such findings will provide the rationale for future efficacy studies evaluating selective androgen receptor (AR) antagonism for NASH in PCOS, or alternatively, the need to directly target visceral adiposity or lipid-specific pathways as part of a precision medicine approach to halt fibrosis progression in the nearly 5 million young women with PCOS and NAFLD in the U.S., who remain at increased risk for early onset and progressive liver disease.
People with chronic migraine headaches face many challenges, including high levels of daily pain, disturbances to everyday activities and sleep, and problems with mood such as depression or anxiety. This trial is being completed to study whether changing an individual's behaviors may have an impact as a treatment for migraine headaches. Eligible participants will be randomized to one of the four arms. This study will be conducted remotely without in-person contact. Study Hypothesis: - There is a main effect of attending either the Empowered Relief and Health Education intervention on reductions in migraine-related disability 1 month after completing either intervention - There is a main effect of Empowered Relief and Health Education interventions on reducing pain-related catastrophizing and migraine symptom severity 1 month after completing either intervention (secondary hypothesis) - The expected reductions in migraine-related disability, pain catastrophizing, and migraine symptom severity will be maintained at secondary time points (2 months, 3 months, and 6 months after completing either intervention) (secondary hypothesis)
The study is about helping teens who are involved in the court system to cut down or quit using marijuana. Teens may be asked to test out an experimental smartphone app, called TECH, that will be used only by teens in this study. This app is a private online community where teens can work towards changing their substance use and other behavior with the help of other anonymous teens. We will use this information to learn how the app may help teens make a change and to improve the TECH app.
Social psychological research has demonstrated that internalized stereotypes affect people's attitudes and behaviors. Music-based interventions that rely on stereotypes might have promise for keeping participants engaged in health interventions, reducing stress, and improving wellbeing.
This single center, single arm, open-label, phase I study will assess the safety of laparoscopically harvested autologous omentum, implanted into the resection cavity of recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients.
