NCT ID: NCT03373903 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Respiratory Tract Infections

Dose Finding Study to Determine if BEZ235 Alone or in Combination With RAD001 Decreases the Incidence of Respiratory Tract Infections in the Elderly

Start date: November 15, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of BEZ235 alone and in combination with RAD001 to support further development to reduce the incidence of respiratory tract infections (RTIs) in elderly subjects.

NCT ID: NCT03373279 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Heart Transplant Failure and Rejection

Bioelectrical Impedance Spectroscopy in Heart Transplantation: Tracking Post-Transplant Changes in Body Composition and Correlation With Conventional Preoperative Risk Assessment Modalities

BIS
Start date: February 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients with marginal physiologic reserve, severe frailty, and/or malnutrition may be regarded as unsuitable candidates for advanced cardiac replacement therapies. However, little data exist on precisely which measures are predictive of subsequent adverse events. Assessment of nutritional status and frailty is still largely predicated on crude and obsolete parameters, such as baseline serum albumin level or body mass index (BMI). In this prospective cohort study the investigators will evaluate the use of bio-electrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS) as a measure of body composition and assess the associations with surgical outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT03373227 Active, not recruiting - Graft Failure Clinical Trials

Phase II Study Evaluating the Efficacy of Tacrolimus Extended Release Tablets to Twice Daily Tacrolimus Dosing Regimen

Veloxis
Start date: December 4, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II, single-center, open-label study will evaluate the comparable efficacy of tacrolimus extended release tablets (Envarsus®) to the standard of care (SOC) twice daily tacrolimus (Prograf®) dosing regimen post-cardiac transplantation.

NCT ID: NCT03372902 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Development Of A Blood Test To Improve The Performance Of Breast Cancer Screening

Start date: December 7, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to collect blood and tissue to help develop tests that might be able to detect cancer earlier. The investigator will be collecting these samples and reviewing test results from participants who have had an area of concern found on breast imaging, as well as from participants who are scheduled to have a routine breast cancer screening mammogram.

NCT ID: NCT03372564 Active, not recruiting - Hip Arthroscopy Clinical Trials

CREST: Capsular Repair During Hip Arthroscopy

Start date: November 7, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Capsular REpair randomiSed controlled Trial (CREST) is a multi-center, randomized controlled trial with a sample size of 240 patients (120 patients in each group). The primary outcome measure is functional outcome as measured by the change in Hip Outcome Score at 6 months with secondary outcomes being hip range of motion, i-HOT 12, overall satisfaction, and VAS. Patients are stratified based on gender. Patients, outcome assessors, and data analysts are blinded to surgical allocation. Using an intention-to-treat approach, outcome analyses will be performed using an analysis of covariance and descriptive statistics.

NCT ID: NCT03372291 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Psychological Intervention Mobile App for Patients With AML

Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research study is evaluating the impact of a psychological intervention mobile application (app) on the quality of life, mood, and symptoms of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

NCT ID: NCT03371719 Active, not recruiting - PSA Progression Clinical Trials

BIOMARKER TRIAL of APALUTAMIDE and RADIATION for RECURRENT PROSTATE CANCER

BALANCE
Start date: April 27, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy with or without apalutamide works in treating patients with stage III-IV prostate cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-ray to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Androgen can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Drugs, such as apalutamide, may lessen the amount of androgen made by the body. Giving radiation therapy and apalutamide may work better at treating prostate cancer than radiation alone.

NCT ID: NCT03371368 Active, not recruiting - Obesity Clinical Trials

Metabolism and Bariatric Surgery Study

Start date: October 16, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if diet-induced weight loss causes different changes in hormones that control appetite and glucose control than surgery-induced weight loss. The overall research plan is a non-randomized prospective study of 3 different weight loss (WL) interventions and a lean and an obese healthy control group.

NCT ID: NCT03371212 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Serum Metal Levels, Specifically Cobalt, Chromium, and Titanium

A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial of Dual-Mobility Components in Primary THA

Start date: December 15, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to determine if the use of a modular dual mobility bearing is associated with clinically important increases in serum metal levels.

NCT ID: NCT03371017 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Triple Negative Breast Neoplasms

A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Atezolizumab Plus Chemotherapy for Patients With Early Relapsing Recurrent Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

IMpassion132
Start date: January 11, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab plus chemotherapy compared with placebo plus chemotherapy in patients with inoperable recurrent triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
