There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This phase II, multi-center, open-label study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of utilizing HCV-positive donors for heart transplant in HCV-negative recipients treated with sofosbuvir 400 mg / velpatasvir 100 mg (Epclusa®).
It has previously been shown that patients with coronary artery disease may have a harder time quitting smoking if they have a specific genetic profile and that these individuals have a better chance at quitting if they receive nicotine replacement therapy. The investigators hypothesize that determining which individuals with coronary artery disease should receive nicotine replacement therapy based on their genotype may improve the number of individuals who are able to quit smoking. This study randomizes treatment to that determined by the patient's genotype compared to standard, non-genotype-guided, treatment.
This randomized phase II clinical trial studies whether the addition of nivolumab to cisplatin (or carboplatin) and etoposide will improve outcomes when treating patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cisplatin, carboplatin, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving cisplatin/carboplatin and etoposide together with nivolumab may work better in treating patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer.
Clinical Study of the Edwards Cardioband Tricuspid Valve Reconstruction System (formerly "Edwards Cardiobandâ„¢ Tricuspid Valve Reconstruction System Early Feasibility Study")
Phase 1 is an open-label, multi-center dose escalation/dose expansion study designed to assess the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics (PK) for the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) of IMX-110. The RP2D will be evaluated in a further dose expansion Phase 2a study submitted.
This study is being done to evaluate the effects of fractional photothermolysis (known as laser resurfacing) using fractional laser for the induction of hair follicles via skin rejuvenation in subjects with scalp alopecia (specifically, alopecia on the superior forehead at the frontal hairline). Fractional photothermolysis has been shown to be effective in promoting hair growth. The investigators will study 50 subjects who will be treated 6-10 times at 2-4 week intervals. Each participant will have half of their head treated with a laser, either Fraxel DUAL 1550 or Halo by Sciton, and the other half of their head will be left untreated as a control. Half of the individuals will randomly be assigned to the group to be treated with Fraxel DUAL 1550, and the other half will be treated with Halo by Sciton. Visual observation and digital, photographic, non-invasive imaging will be used to compare the treated and untreated area to assess for differences in hair follicle stimulation rates, number and density of hairs. As noted above, the types of lasers we plan to use include the non-ablative fractional laser settings for the Fraxel DUAL 1550 and Halo by Sciton. A fractional laser is a laser that directs an intense burst of laser energy on the skin. The treatment deposits heat deep into the dermis to tighten skin and stimulate collagen remodeling. The necrotic (death of cells or tissue) injury heals rapidly and adverse effects are few. Laser resurfacing is commonly used for rejuvenation of the skin to improve quality, tone, and texture.
The objective of this study is to investigate the safety, tolerability, and antitumor activity of novel combination therapies administered in participants with advanced EGFRm NSCLC.
The purpose of this study is to see if the IRX-2 regimen and Durvalumab, will have a tolerable safety profile and will increase the intratumoral immune profile compared with the pretreatment tumors.
Patients who have had a previous allograft failure represent a major problem for transplant centers as they are highly-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) sensitized and unlikely to receive another transplant without significant desensitization. This single center, phase I/II, open label single-arm exploratory study focuses on enrolling twenty patients (ages 15-75) who will begin desensitization therapy to achieve HLA incompatible (HLAi) renal transplantation. Patients who qualify will receive up to 6 doses of clazakizumab 25 mg monthly pre-transplantation. If patients receive an HLAi transplant during the study, the participants will continue to receive another 6 monthly doses of clazakizumab 25 mg, followed by a 6 month protocol biopsy. Patients will continue another 6 doses over 6 months if improvements are seen after the 6th dose of clazakizumab. Patients who develop evidence of persistent allograft dysfunction may have non-protocol biopsies for cause. Patients who receive 12 doses of clazakizumab post-transplant will receive a 12M protocol biopsy.
Purpose: Routine clinical care and pilot study data has shown evidence of postoperative hearing preservation in pediatric cochlear implant (CI) recipients. The primary aim of this study is to investigate speech perception performance in pediatric CI recipients with functional pre-operative hearing. Participants: Two cohorts of CI recipients aged 6 through 17 years who had pre-operative low frequency residual hearing. Subjects in Arm 1 will present with a post-operative low frequency pure tone average (125, 250, and 500 Hz) of ≤ 75 dB HL, and those in Arm 2 will present with a post-operative low frequency pure tone average (LFPTA) that exceeds 75 dB HL. Procedures (methods): Subjects will complete speech perception and quality of life testing during post-operative intervals. Subjects in Arm 1 will be evaluated with the hearing aid alone (HA-alone) and with combined electric-acoustic stimulation (EAS). Subjects in Arm 2 will be evaluated with the CI-alone.
