The incidence of burnout and mental ill-health begins very early in medical school and continues to be high throughout training. Medical students are under high amounts of stress, which often becomes chronic, and can lead to both physical and psychological issues as a student, resident, and physician. Chronic stress and burnout in medical students are not a new phenomenon, but recent research has highlighted the worsening mental health of medical students, with as high as three-quarters of students reporting mental ill-health. It is vital that ways are found to reduce burnout and assist in improving the mental health of medical students. This quasi-experimental study aimed to assess the effect of a small process group vs. a control group of preclinical medical students on their stress, resilience, and grit.

Oxygen-guided Supervised Exercise Therapy

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a cardiovascular disease manifesting from systemic atherosclerosis, which blocks the leg arteries and results in insufficient blood flow to the lower extremities. Limb ischemia from PAD is the most common disorder treated within the vascular surgery service at the Omaha Veterans' Affairs Medical Center. PAD also accounts for one-third of the operations performed in the VA Medical Centers nationwide. This project aims to establish the feasibility and acceptability of a muscle oxygen-guided supervised exercise program for patients with PAD. The investigators will determine the potential benefits of using this intervention over standard supervised exercise therapy. This modified intervention may enable patients to increase overall physical activity without the negative impacts on muscle structure and function. Increasing physical activity will decrease cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. If proven beneficial, the findings will lead to an improved exercise program that directly benefits veterans nationwide.

Facilitators and Barriers to the Clinical Implementation of MR-001

This is a single arm, multi-site, prospective hybrid implementation and feasibility trial. The primary purpose of this trial is to gather data on the facilitators and barriers to clinical implementation of MR-001 for patients with chronic stroke who experience walking impairments. Secondarily, the trial will evaluate the feasibility of MR-001 clinically impacting walking capacity, quality of life, mood, and cognition. The goal of this single arm, multi-site, prospective hybrid implementation and feasibility trial is to gather data on the facilitators and barriers to clinical implementation of MR-001 for patient with chronic stroke who experience walking impairments. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Enhance understanding of the potential clinical and operational needs and opportunities that may be associated with implementation of MR-001 in various treatment settings. 2. Assess the impact of MR-001 on walking capacity. 3. Assess the impact of MR-001 on quality of life and mood. 4. Assess the impact of MR-001 on cognition. All participants will be prescribed MR-001 and will be asked to walk with it for 30 minutes, 3 times weekly, for 8 weeks.

A Study to Learn How Different Amounts of the Study Medicine Called PF-06954522 Are Tolerated and Act in the Body in Healthy Adults

The purposes of this study are: - To see how the new medicine (PF-06954522) under study behave. And if there are any important side effects. A side effect is a reaction (expected or unexpected) to a medicine or treatment you take. The study will see how people feel after taking single increasing amount of the medicine by mouth. - To measure the amount of study medicine in your blood after the medicine is taken by mouth. This study is seeking for participants who: - are females of 18 to 65 years old and are not able to give birth to a child. - are males of 18 to 65 years old. - have body mass index of 16 to 31 kilograms per meter squared. - have a total body weight of more than 50 kilograms (110 pounds). Participants will be chosen by chance, like drawing names out of a hat to receive either: - study medicine (PF-06954522) - or placebo (a pill that has no medicine in it). Participants may receive up to 4 amounts of study medicine and up to 2 amounts of placebo. The time frame of the study is approximately up to 36 days for each group and participants will stay at CRU for 20 days.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effects of peer coaching models in older adults with unmanaged type two diabetes. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Are peer coaching models effective at promoting Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus self-management? - If effective, which facets of the peer model are most effective? Peer coaches will - Undergo peer coach training. - Reach out to peer participants on a weekly/biweekly time frame to discuss self-management and goal setting. - Retain records of contact, topics discussed, and general notes on interactions. Researchers will compare differences in the frequency of contact, as well as how peer coaches were matched to peer participants to see if efficacy of the intervention is altered between groups.
