Alterations in Coagulation Factor Levels in Patients With End Stage Liver Disease

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the changes in coagulation factor VIII and IX levels in patients undergoing liver transplantation to help guide future management of coagulation factor replacement in patients with hemophilia and liver disease. The question we aim to answer is: should the recommendations for factor replacement in patients with hereditary bleeding disorders be altered in the setting of end stage liver cirrhosis? Participants will be asked to provide two blood samples, one at the beginning of their liver transplant, and one after their liver transplant.

This study is a pilot randomized trial of STIckER in which 40 providers (20 trained in using the STIckER decision aid and 20 providing standard care) will enroll a total of 140 sexually active young Emergency Department (ED) patients over six months in a pediatric and adult ED setting. The primary goal is to determine if sexually active young individuals who use STIckER are more likely to undergo STI testing. By developing an effective automated digital tool to increase STI testing, the investigators aim to improve evidence-based sexual health education, reduce STI rates, and enhance the health outcomes of young individuals nationwide.

Intratumoral PH-762 for Cutaneous Carcinoma

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of intratumoral injections of PH-762 in squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, or Merkel cell carcinomas of the skin, to understand what the body does to the PH-762, and to observe how the tumor responds to the drug. Participants will receive four injections of PH-762 at weekly intervals, into a single tumor, followed by surgical removal of the tumor approximately two weeks later.

Stroke and Anxiety Reduction

The purpose of this pilot study is to explore the impact that a structured anxiety reduction intervention program has on patients being discharged to home following an acute stroke in an academic medical center. Eligible participants will be screened and recruited by the research team through daily rounds. After completing the informed consent process, the research team will pull demographic information from the electronic health record (EHR) and REDCAP that includes ethnicity and support system. Participants will complete the Anxiety Screen Questionnaire (GAD-7 ANXIETY SURVEY) and will be provided with information regarding stroke support groups available with additional NYU Langone Health and the American Heart Association internet-based information regarding anxiety reduction (NYU Langone Health Anxiety Reduction Bundle). The participants will be encouraged to attend a stroke support group for 3 months and utilize the NYU Langone Health Anxiety Reduction Bundle provided. At the completion of the intervention (3 months), participants will be provided with the GAD-7 ANXIETY SURVEY again and a survey that includes open-ended questions and a program evaluation by email. Analysis will occur after final data is collected.
