Veteran Primers for CRC Screening

Start date: June 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective, randomized controlled trial that will evaluate the effectiveness of primer postcards sent two weeks prior to the mailing of a FIT kit in improving adherence to annual CRC screening. This project is for the purpose of quality improvement and has been designated as non-research by the VHA Office of Primary Care, Improvement & Innovation (VHA Program Guide 1200.21).

NCT ID: NCT04923633 Completed - Massage Clinical Trials

The Reproducibility and Consistency of Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation

Start date: May 11, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The overall purpose of this study is to objectively describe and test the consistency and reproducibility of instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM).The specific aims of this current study are to: 1. Analyze IASTM stroke patterns using objective metrics; 2. Test the consistency of force application, with and without visual monitoring of objective metrics, and; 3. Determine the reliability of dynamic pressure pain threshold assessment. The ultimate goal of this continuing line of research is to improve soft tissue manual therapy practice in research, education, and clinic for use as a non-invasive modality in soft tissue assessment and treatment. Results from this protocol will inform future clinical trials, including studies exploring the effects of different IASTM dose-loads in various musculoskeletal pain conditions.

NCT ID: NCT04923594 Completed - Narcolepsy Clinical Trials

Four-week Study of the Safety and Efficacy of NLS-2 (Mazindol Extended Release) in the Treatment of Narcolepsy

Start date: September 13, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial of NLS-2 in adult patients with narcolepsy. The study will enroll approximately 60 patients and eligible patients will be treated to receive either NLS-2 or placebo for 4-weeks.

NCT ID: NCT04923568 Completed - Chronic Pain Clinical Trials

VR and Chronic Pain Pilot Usability Study

Start date: August 3, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a pilot feasibility and usability study of a virtual reality device for patients with chronic pain.

NCT ID: NCT04923464 Completed - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

A Decentralized Study to Evaluate Physical Activity and Cough Frequency Using Wearable Technology in Cystic Fibrosis

Start date: June 30, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study will evaluate the performance of wearable technology in cystic fibrosis (CF) participants taking commercial Elexacaftor (ELX)/Tezacaftor (TEZ)/Ivacaftor (IVA) utilizing a fully decentralized trial design.

NCT ID: NCT04923386 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

mRNA Based-Covid-19 Vaccine Effects on Blood Glucose Levels

Start date: June 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To determine if patients with a history of Diabetes Mellitus Type I or II developed a change in blood glucose levels as reported on Continuous glucose monitoring devices (CGMS) within the first week following administration of each dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

NCT ID: NCT04923230 Completed - Clinical trials for Cannabis Use Disorder, Moderate

Pilot Test of Parent-Focused Cannabis-Related Actions and Practices Intervention for Adolescent Marijuana Abuse

CAP
Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The randomized clinical trial involves the pilot-testing of a theory-guided, empirically based, and low-cost intervention designed for legal medical marijuana-using parents to enhance parenting behaviors that limit youth exposure to marijuana, reduce or halt youth marijuana use, and increase youth awareness of the harmful consequences of marijuana during the youth years. Parents will be randomized to an intervention condition or to a wait list control condition. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will evaluate parent and youth marijuana and other substance use, perceptions and attitudes about marijuana, parenting and family functioning, and youth behavioral health.

NCT ID: NCT04922944 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Post COVID-19 Vaccination Analysis in Healthcare Worker Recipients

Start date: March 8, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This research study is studying how healthcare worker recipients react after receiving vaccinations for COVID-19. The objective of the study is to evaluate the immune response to COVID-19 vaccination. The immunity will be evaluated over time by measuring serum semi-quantitative SARS-Co-V2 IgG from blood specimens and analyzing vaccine reaction data. SARS-CoV-2 is the name for the virus responsible for COVID-19 infections. IgG, immunoglobulin G, is an antibody found in the blood that protects against bacterial and viral infections. Study subjects will also be asked to report physical reactions they may have experienced related to vaccinations.

NCT ID: NCT04922697 Completed - Lung Carcinoma Clinical Trials

Educational Intervention for the Promotion of Knowledge and Preventive Health Behaviors Related to Personal Air Pollution Exposure, The Air Study

Start date: September 15, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial will conduct an educational intervention to promote knowledge of and preventive health behaviors related to personal air pollution exposure. Air pollution is n ubiquitous environmental exposure that is associated with harmful health effects including lung cancer. The educational intervention is comprised of 2 educational videos that include information regarding air pollution, health effects, and personal preventive health behaviors to reduce air pollution exposure and the use of a wearable air pollution sensor. The knowledge gained from this study may inform future research that will be designed to promote awareness of air pollution and its health effects.
