Goal: learn about QN-302 in patients with solid tumors (metastatic, or advanced cancer). Main questions: - What does the study drug do to human body (Pharmacodynamics [='PD']) - What does the body do to study drug (how processed in body (Pharmacokinetics [='PK']) - Safety Study drug by intravenous infusion ('IV') once weekly for 3 weeks every 4-week 'cycle.' Study treatment continues as long as patient and their study doctor agree that study treatment is in the best interest of the patient.
Cognitive dysfunction, psychiatric symptoms, functional impairment, and disability following COVID-19 negatively impact Veterans' community functioning and quality of life, contribute to significant human suffering, and are costly to VHA. Rehabilitation is a critical priority for Veterans with long COVID. One promising treatment to improve functioning in Veterans with post-COVID-19 cognitive symptoms is Compensatory Cognitive Training (CCT). Previous studies have found that CCT is feasible, acceptable, and efficacious in Veteran populations with multiple sources of cognitive dysfunction. This randomized controlled trial aims to address important RR&D priorities by examining feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a COVID-19-specific rehabilitation intervention, CCT for long COVID (CCT-C) compared to a robust control condition. The proposed study has the potential to improve cognitive function, functional independence, and quality of life for Veterans with late or delayed effects of secondary conditions related to COVID-19 infections.
A retrospective study of de-identified (to preserve patient privacy) patient information from the SEER-Medicare Database to compare overall survival of first line palbociclib + aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy versus AI therapy alone treatment in women or men aged 65 and older with newly diagnosed hormone receptor positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HR+/HER2-) metastatic breast cancer (MBC) in the United States
This is a single-center pilot study examining the feasibility and acceptability of a transitional rehabilitation intervention, PICTURE-THIS, among critical illness survivors and their families. The intervention activities include transitional care coordination and activity-based rehabilitation delivered by a specialist team and integrated into usual care. There are three components to the assessment of feasibility and acceptability in this study: 1. User testing the PICTURE-THIS protocol to work out basic challenges to feasibility and acceptability. 2. Assessing the feasibility and acceptability of the user-tested PICTURE-THIS protocol. 3. Assessing the feasibility and acceptability of research activities required to test the clinical efficacy of PICTURE-THIS to improve outcomes among critical illness survivors and their family caregivers.
This is a human laboratory-based, randomized, cross-over study in which buprenorphine will be administered to healthy volunteers (n=22) in 3 separate inpatient 2-night visits, at least 1 week apart. At each visit, the participant will receive a single dose buprenorphine, either 0.15mg IV, 8mg PO, or 16mg PO. The order for the first dose administered will be fixed to the IV dose, and the subsequent doses will be randomized and counterbalanced to 8mg or 16mg PO. Participants will be given naltrexone to produce opioid blockade to eliminate the risk for opioid dependence in individuals without OUD. Timed blood samples will be collected up to 24 hours.
Flavanols are compounds present in plants, including apples, berries, peaches, cocoa-derived products and certain beverages like tea. Following intake, they are absorbed and broken down into smaller compounds called 'metabolites'. Some of these metabolites are excreted in urine. In this study, we hope to collect urine and examine the metabolites to learn more about the types and amounts of flavanols that people are consuming as part of their usual diet.
Aim 1: Determine the prevalence of unmet childcare needs among women with abnormal cervical cancer screening and establish the relevance of childcare as a social determinant of health in the context of cervical dysplasia. Aim 2: Conduct a pilot pragmatic patient-randomized control trial (RCT) to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention linking eligible patients to our childcare facility compared to standard of care on retention in care, defined as show-rate for the initial visit in the gynecology dysplasia clinic. The intervention will consist of 1) patient navigation to our childcare facility prior to the initial visit in the gynecology dysplasia clinic and 2) placement of an electronic medical record (EMR) referral to our childcare facility. Hypothesis: The study team hypothesizes that women receiving the intervention will have increased retention in care compared to women randomized to standard of care among women with abnormal cervical cancer screening referred to gynecology for diagnostic work-up. These two aims will demonstrate the significance of childcare as a social determinant of health in the cervical cancer screening and diagnostic continuum by assessing the burden of unmet childcare needs among women with cervical dysplasia and measuring the effect of health system-integrated childcare as an intervention for unmet childcare needs on retention in care and subsequent completion of diagnostic work-up among women with cervical dysplasia. This study will rigorously provide the first evidence illustrating the effect of health systems' investment in addressing unmet childcare needs on preventive care like cervical cancer screening. The findings of this proposed pilot study will be utilized to develop future large-scale studies with extramural funding, building a longitudinal program of research on addressing childcare as a social determinant of health in this and other similar clinical contexts (e.g., breast cancer screening and treatment).

This is a clinical research trial exploring the efficacy of non-invasive neuromodulation (NM) intervention in the treatment of anxiety. The NM used in this study consists of 25 minutes of 5 hz transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) titrated up to 2mA targeting the anterolateral amygdala across 12 treatment sessions with a 3-4 week time period. The studied population includes patients with the following anxiety disorders: generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), separation anxiety disorder of childhood, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Participants will be randomly assigned to tACS or sham, cross-over, then followed by an optional open-label extension phase.
There is currently no readily available pharmacologic intervention for suicidal ideation, a true psychiatric emergency, in the Emergency Department (ED). Investigators aim to trial low-dose, intravenous ketamine, a drug with well-established use in treatment-resistant depression, for patients who present to the ED with suicidal ideation.
