NCT ID: NCT06216067 Completed - Cataract Clinical Trials

Evaluate Performance of Callisto Eye vs. Wavetec AnalyzOR

CORTCO
Start date: December 14, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate two separate operating room cataract measuring tools in predicting the residual astigmatism (prediction error) in patients with corneal astigmatism. The main question it aims to answer is: Show the refractive predictability comparing the use of Operating Room cataract toric lens placement tools against the standard manual technique. Participants will be implanted with the TECNIS Toric II IOL Lens Model ZCU; the second eye, if applicable, is to be implanted within 45 days of the first-eye surgery. Researchers will compare two Operating Room cataract lens placement tools: the Zeiss CALLISTO vs. the Wavetec AnalyzOR to determine refractive predictability.

NCT ID: NCT06215521 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate the Effect of Pirtobrutinib (LOXO-305) on QTc Interval in Healthy Participants

Start date: December 15, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to assess the effect of Pirtobrutinib (LOXO-305) on the heart rate-corrected QT (QTc) interval and to conduct blood tests to measure how much pirtobrutinib (LOXO-305) is in the bloodstream and how the body handles and eliminates pirtobrutinib. The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of pirtobrutinib. The study will last up to 71 days, including screening.

NCT ID: NCT06215430 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Study of Effect of Multiple Doses of LOXO-305 on the Pharmacokinetics of Single Oral Doses of CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19 Substrates in Healthy Participants

Start date: January 11, 2021
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of LOXO-305 on single oral dose of caffeine cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) substrate, S-warfarin (CYP2C9 substrate), and omeprazole (CYP2C19 substrate) when administered as multiple doses by collecting the blood samples and conducting the blood tests to measure how much LOXO-305 is in the bloodstream and how the body handles and eliminates LOXO-305 in adult healthy participants. The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of LOXO-305. The study will be conducted in two periods. Participants will stay in this study for up to 67 days, including screening.

NCT ID: NCT06213701 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Behavior, Biology and Well-Being Study

BeWell
Start date: June 16, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The central aim of this pilot study is to compare markers of inflammation and gut microbial diversity with users of the Healthy Minds Program (HMP) app, an intervention designed to promote well-being. The investigators plan to conduct a randomized controlled trial (RCT) involving 300 participants comparing 4-weeks of the HMP app with an active control (Psychoeducation [HMP without meditation practice]), and a waitlist control in a sample of United States adults with elevated depression symptoms.

NCT ID: NCT06213142 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Developing the Unified Protocol-Single Session Experience Platform for Adolescent Mental Health

CBToolkit
Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This SBIR Phase I proposal will develop and test the acceptability and feasibility of a new suite of digital Single-Session Interventions, specifically applying Unified Protocol core principles for emotional disorders, to produce a highly accessible, engaging, and scalable product to help address the clinical needs of youth.

NCT ID: NCT06212531 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Papuan Indigenous Model of Male Circumcision

Start date: September 7, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is: AIM 1: To engage Papuan community members to explore acceptability, barriers and facilitators for introducing a school-based age and culturally appropriate, comprehensive VMMC intervention to reduce HIV incidence in the Papuan population. AIM 2: To assess the capacity of the community health system to meet international criteria for safe comprehensive VMMC services and to ensure the availability of resources and training necessary to meet these criteria in selected clinics. AIM 3: To design the PIM of school-based adolescent VMMC based on information collected in Aims 1 and 2 and in consultation with a community advisory board, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. AIM 4: To pilot-test the school-based PIM Intervention of VMMC with 400 boys ages 12-18 years at two HIV high-risk Papuan locations: the Nabire and Jayapura. Primary outcomes are the proportion of adolescent males exposed to school-based PIM VMMC educational and informational sessions who get circumcised and surgical event safety. Secondary outcomes are satisfaction by adolescent males and parents, any sexual activity within 6 weeks after circumcision, changes in sexual risk behaviors between base-line and 12 weeks after circumcision, and perceptions of providers regarding MC training and implementation, ease of device use, and challenges encountered.

NCT ID: NCT06212310 Completed - Clinical trials for Genetic Predisposition

Genetic Counseling Service Delivery and Outcomes in Diverse and Underserved Populations

Start date: February 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This 2-arm prospective, randomized, controlled clinical trial compared outcomes of telephone genetic counseling (intervention) versus in-person genetic counseling (control) in an underserved, multilingual patient population referred for cancer genetic counseling at two North Texas safety-net hospitals. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Is telephone genetic counseling equal to in-person genetic counseling in the patient reported outcomes? Cancer genetics knowledge, attitude towards GT, and informed choice as well as GC-specific empowerment. - Is telephone genetic counseling-based clinical outcomes the same as in-person genetic counseling for visit completion and testing rates? Participants will be randomized to either in-person or telephone genetic counseling arm and complete standard of care genetic counseling visit process where testing is offered. Both arms will complete a series of surveys to assess the outcomes of interest.

NCT ID: NCT06211946 Completed - Clinical trials for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Abdominal Aorta Palpation With Point of Care Ultrasound Imaging Measurements

Start date: January 25, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to compare the measurements of abdominal aorta width via palpation and point of care ultrasound imaging in healthy individuals. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Is there a measurement difference in abdominal aorta width in healthy individuals as measured by palpation and point of care ultrasound imaging? - Are palpation measurements and point of care ultrasound imaging measurements reliable when performed by physical therapy researchers? Participants will be asked to have their abdominal area be palpated around the umbilicus and will have ultrasound imaging performed over their abdominal aorta area. It is anticipated participation in the study will take less than 15 minutes. Subjects will be asked to return for a repeat visit within 1 month to determine reliability of measurements.
