This study aims to test the effectiveness of a 6-week long virtual Acceptance Commitment group therapy as a non-pharmaceutical intervention to improving other functional outcomes for adolescents with a chronic medical condition in comparison to no treatment.

Medication is the most efficacious treatment of an opioid use disorder, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. However, many patients experience withdrawal symptoms, which prevents them from being successfully inducted onto medication for opioid use disorder. This study is a pilot study investigating whether blocking the SPG helps reduce withdrawal symptoms in OUD. This study does not involve treatment or induction onto medications. It is a proof of principal study only. We will recruit non-treatment seeking subjects with OUD who are admitted to the research unit for all procedures.
This pilot study aims to assess the effect of a 6-week individualized gait retraining program on knee load and symptoms in persons with knee osteoarthritis (OA).
The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of a protocol in which individuals with comorbid depression or anxiety disorders and alcohol use disorder will be randomized to complete Amplification of Positivity for Alcohol Use Disorder (AMP-A)- a psychological treatment focused on increasing positive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors- or a traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention. Assessed outcomes will include participant acceptability and completion rates, participant compliance with the intervention, positive and negative affect, substance use- and depression and anxiety-related symptom severity, and functional disability.
The overall goals of this study are to measure parents' financial distress (worry or anxiety about money) during their child's/adolescent's treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and whether it changes over time, and to learn what factors are associated with changes in financial distress. Information gathered from this study will inform future intervention studies that may mitigate financial distress for parents of children/adolescents being treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
