Feasibility and Acceptability of Switching to E-cigarettes Among Cigarette Smokers Engaged in SUD Treatment

The purpose of the proposed study is to examine the feasibility of integrating a smoking harm reduction program featuring provision of e-cigarettes and tailored instructions to switch into an existing substance use disorder treatment program. This longitudinal study includes three weeks of micro-surveys delivered via text messages to evaluate the intervention's feasibility and acceptability, gather initial effectiveness data, and understand participants' lived experience of smoking and vaping while engaged in substance use disorder treatment.

Discovering Clinical Study Experiences of Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension

Taking part in medical trials usually favors a particular demographic group. But there is limited research available to explain what trial attributes affect the completion of these specific demographic groups. This study will admit a wide range of data on the clinical trial experience of pulmonary hypertension patients to determine which factors prevail in limiting a patient's ability to join or finish a trial. It will also try to analyze data from the perspective of different demographic groups to check for recurring trends which might yield insights for the sake of future pulmonary hypertension patients.

Historically, participation in clinical research is highly skewed towards particular demographic groups of people. This study will invite several participants to gather a wide range of information on clinical trial experiences for neuroblastoma patients. The aim of the study is to identify the factors that limit the ability of a person to enroll in, as well as complete a clinical trial for treatment of neuroblastoma. The data collected from this study will help improve future outcomes for all neuroblastoma patients as well as those in under-represented demographic groups.

A Study to Evaluate the Effect of SlimBiotics Probiotic Formula on Weight Management and Metabolic Health Outcomes

This study is to evaluate the efficacy of a probiotic supplement on weight management and metabolic health. This study will be conducted as a hybrid trial consisting of both in-person visits and virtual assessments. Two groups will be included: the intervention (SlimBiotics Probiotic) and placebo. The SlimBiotics probiotic formula is the first plant-based probiotic targeting weight management and metabolic health. Other competing probiotics are isolated from humans (feces) but the strains in SlimBiotics were isolated from a fermented plant (millet porridge cereal). Improving Alcohol and Substance Use Care Access, Outcome, Equity During the Reproductive Years

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of evidence-based Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) among adult patients who screen positive to one or more risky alcohol or substance use behaviors while seeking care at a sexual and reproductive health (SRH) clinic. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does SBIRT impact patients' alcohol and substance use, SRH, mental health, physical health, quality of life, and wellbeing? - Does SBIRT effectiveness differ by ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, gender, and urbanicity? - Does SBIRT effectiveness differ by delivery mode (in-person vs. telemedicine)? Participants will receive in-person SBIRT, telemedicine SBIRT, or usual care. Participants will complete surveys at interviews at baseline, 30 days, and 3 months. Researchers will compare patients who received SBIRT to patients who receive usual care to see if patients who receive the SBIRT intervention have a greater reduction in negative outcomes as compared to those who receive usual care. In this setting, usual care consists of basic quantity and frequency questions asked inconsistently as part of the admission process and varying by provider, with no standardized approach to screening, treatment, follow-up, or referral.

The Impact of Needle Manipulation and Accuracy Between Hand Held Automatic and Traditional Ultrasound Device

In this double blinded randomized controlled trial, the investigators would like to compare the effects on needle manipulation when relatively inexperienced sonographist (< 1 year of ultrasound experience) perform ultrasound guided labor epidurals utilizing a traditional handheld ultrasound versus a handheld device that was engineered to provide automated guidance. The primary outcome of this study would be number of needle passes.
