NCT ID: NCT04469881 Terminated - Surgery Clinical Trials

Netflix Streaming Services in the Operating Room During Total Knee Replacement - a Feasibility Study

Start date: November 24, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to test the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of watching streamed videos through virtual reality (VR) goggles during surgery. The results of this study will be used to evaluate whether video-streaming services on VR goggles are worthwhile additions to standard anesthesia care during total knee surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04469452 Terminated - Clinical trials for Human Energy Expenditure

Validation of a Portable Indirect Calorimeter

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study plans to test the accuracy of a new device (the Apollo EE Device) that measures resting energy expenditure (REE) using only oxygen consumed (VO2). Findings from this study will help determine how this new device compares to the gold standard, indirect calorimetry, which measures REE using VO2 and carbon dioxide production (VCO2). Findings may help develop less expensive and more accessible means of measuring energy expenditure.

NCT ID: NCT04468906 Terminated - Tenotomy Clinical Trials

Tenodesis vs. Self-locking Tenotomy in Long Head of the Biceps Tendon Lesions: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

One of the common complaints after long head of the biceps brachii tendon (LHBT) surgery is a Popeye deformity, which can occur with both the tenodesis and tenotomy. Tenotomy using the traditional technique has a higher incidence of Popeye deformity as the residual stump is not fixated in place. However, the more recently-described self-locking tenotomy improves upon this by having a wider stump base to theoretically prevent reduce the incidence of tendon retraction down the bicipital groove. If this technique is shown to result in a similar incidence of Popeye deformity, then it may be preferable to tenodesis due to its advantages of reduced postoperative pain, more rapid return to activity, and reduced surgical time and cost. The purpose of the proposed study is to evaluate the effect of biceps tenodesis versus self-locking T tenotomy in the management of lesions involving the LHBT.

NCT ID: NCT04468243 Terminated - Cancer Clinical Trials

Pilot RCT Feasibility Study: Cancer and T2D

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test a nurse-led intervention for adults with newly diagnosed cancer and undiagnosed/newly diagnosed Type-2 diabetes

NCT ID: NCT04468230 Terminated - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Study of Nicotine for Pain Associated With Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

Start date: July 31, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Assess the efficacy of short-term nicotine transdermal patch administration for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in cancer stable patients or patients in remission.

NCT ID: NCT04467879 Terminated - Clinical trials for Hypertension, Systolic

A Pivotal Study To Evaluate The Effectiveness of Isometric Handgrip Therapy In Prehypertensive And Hypertensive Patients

Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a double-blind, sham-controlled clinical trial assessing the effectiveness of personalized isometric handgrip device therapy. Approximately 230 patients who present with a Systolic Blood Pressure reading of ≤ 149mmHg and who have not taken any antihypertensive medication for more than 30 days will be enrolled.

NCT ID: NCT04467515 Terminated - Clinical trials for Advanced/Metastatic HER2-positive Breast, Gastric, Gastroesophageal Junction Cancer With Disease Progression Following Anti-HER2 Standard of Care Treatment

A Study to Evaluate Safety, Tolerability, Dosimetry, and Preliminary Efficacy of the HER2 Directed Radioligand CAM-H2 in Patients With Advanced/Metastatic HER2-Positive Breast, Gastric, and Gastro-Esophageal Junction (GEJ) Cancer

Start date: September 14, 2021
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 1/2 multi-center, open label, dose escalation and dose expansion study to evaluate safety, tolerability, dosimetry, pharmacodynamics (PD), and efficacy of the targeted radionuclide therapeutic CAM-H2 in patients with progressive, advanced/metastatic HER2-positive breast, gastric, and GEJ cancer with disease progression following anti-HER2 standard of care treatment. The study duration for each phase will be up to 18 months. The study is comprised of a Treatment Period, consisting of a maximum of 4 cycles (12 weeks per cycle) of study drug, and a 12-month Long-Term Follow-Up Period.

NCT ID: NCT04465760 Terminated - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Xisomab 3G3 for the Prevention of Catheter-Associated Thrombosis in Patients With Cancer Receiving Chemotherapy

Start date: February 25, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well xisomab 3G3 works in preventing catheter-associated blood clots (thrombosis) in patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy. Many patients with cancer develop blood clots from their catheters and can have pain, swelling, and other symptoms. They also often require blood thinners, which can increase the risk of bleeding. Xisomab 3G3 is type of drug called a monoclonal antibody that may prevent blood clots caused by a catheter in patients receiving chemotherapy.
