There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
We evaluated the prognostic role of the intraoperative arterial oxygen partial pressures (PaO2) on postoperative patient and graft survival in living donor kidney transplantations.
Between the large trochanter and the muscles adhering to it, trochanteric bursa and several other bursa may be found. Trochanteric bursitis can be alone or together with tendinitis of other bursa and adhering muscles. The first is called trochanteric bursitis, the second is called hip periarthritis, which is difficult to distinguish clinically. It is more common in women of middle age. The main complaint is the large trochanter and pain on the side of the thigh. Pain is aggregated by walking abduction and external rotation by walking, lying down with hip movements. The palpation is sensitive to the top of the large trochanter. There may also be tenderness in the muscles in the lateral of the thigh. On plain radiographs, slight irregularities or peritrocanteric calcifications can be seen in the large trochanter. Bone scintigraphy shows local increased involvement. In differential diagnosis, stress fractures, local infection and bone and soft tissue tumors should be considered. Rest is recommended in treatment. Activities such as running, standing for a long time are prohibited. Ice application can be given in the acute period. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (SOAI) drugs, analgesics, TENS can be used for pain relief. In cases where conventional treatments are insufficient, that is, the patient's pain is still continuing and functional recovery is inadequate, some alternative methods are also applied. These treatments include ozone, prolotherapy injection applications, dry needling, acupuncture, hirudotherapy, phytotherapy, mesotherapy, balneotherapy, kinesiobanding, etc. d. In our study, we aim to compare the effectiveness of ozone injection in patients diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis and to compare steroid injection with the application of ozone therapy.
The aim of this study was the determination of the effect of applying VR and DC distraction methods on patients' pain and satisfaction levels during IM benzathine penicillin injection. The research hypothesis: 1. Are Virtual Reality and Distraction Card effective in reducing pain due to injection of IM benzathine penicillin? 2. Does the use of Virtual Reality and Distraction Card during the injection process of IM benzathine penicillin have an effect on patient satisfaction?
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of preoperative parameters on surgical results in Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) surgery.
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of manual therapy plus cervical stabilization exercise compared to manual therapy alone on balance, proprioception, and neck muscle morphology in chronic neck pain.
The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy of erector spinae plane block (ESP) for postoperative pain management in cardiac surgery patients.
Respiratory failure is one of the most common causes of both hospitalization and mortality in patients in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Recently, it is recommended to target driving pressure (ΔP) in patients with ARDS to achieve better results with the administration of optimal mechanical ventilation. In many studies, higher ΔP was associated with mortality in adult ARDS patients; non-ARDS patients' studies showing the relationship between driving pressure and mortality are few, but contradictory results have come out. This study aimed to determine whether ΔP was associated with mortality in pediatric patients diagnosed as pARDS and non-pARDS who received mechanical ventilation support due to respiratory failure. Patients who received invasive mechanical ventilation support due to respiratory failure in the pediatric intensive care unit over 1 month and under 18 years were included in our study Driving pressure was significantly associated with an increased risk of mortality among mechanically ventilated both pARDS and non-pARDS patients. Future prospective randomized clinical trials are needed to determine a protocol targeting DP can be developed and defining optimum cutoff values.
The choice between ultra-congruent (UC) insert or posterior cruciate ligament-stabilized (PS) insert in posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sacrificing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remains debatable. Despite the potential advantages of the UC insert over PS insert with its different design, there are concerns about inferior clinical outcome related to its use. Therefore, isokinetic performance was used in this study to objectively evaluate knee function after TKA and the clinical scores of the patients were also evaluated. To the best of our knowledge, no prospective randomized study has compared the isokinetic performance of the knee following the use of UC and PS inserts in TKA. The hypothesis of the present study was that compared with the PS insert, the UC insert would be associated with a lower clinical outcome and isokinetic performance following TKA. A total of 65 patients scheduled to undergo TKA on for primary knee osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to either the UC (32 patients) or the PS group (33 patients). The Knee Society Score (KSS) and isokinetic performance results of each patient were recorded preoperatively and at postoperative 3, 6 and 12 months. The physiatrist performing isokinetic tests and patients were blinded to the study.
There are concerns that total infrapatellar fat pad (IPFP) excision in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) results in patellar tendon shortening due to ischemic contracture. But, individual preference of the surgeon is still the main determinant between total or partial excision. The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to compare knee society score (KSS), knee extension and flexion peak torque in patients undergoing TKA with total IPFP excision or partial IPFP excision. The hypothesis of the study is that during TKA, total IPFP excision would lead to worse isokinetic performance and clinical outcome. A total of 72 patients scheduled to undergo TKA for primary osteoarthritis of the knee by a single surgeon were randomly assigned to either the total or partial excision group. Patients were evaluated preoperatively and at postoperative 1 year, with Knee Society Score (KSS) and isokinetic measurements. Physiatrist doing isokinetic tests and patients were blinded to the study.
