Trunk Control and Viscoelastic Properties of Trunk Muscles in Acute Stroke Patients

Stroke is a health problem that ranks second among the causes of death and third in the rate of severe disability . One of the most commonly reported problems after stroke is the structural and functional changes in the muscles . At the beginning of the structural changes of the muscles is the effect of the viscoelastic properties of the muscles. Various studies have reported an increase in skeletal muscle stiffness, which is dependent on elasticity as well as muscle viscosity after stroke . The initial condition of the affected trunk on both the ipsilateral and contralateral sides after stroke is defined as the earliest and most important factor in predicting functional recovery. Functional recovery after stroke was found to be associated with trunk control at a rate of 45-71% in general . We think that viscoelastic properties will change in trunk muscles of individuals with acute stroke and these changes may be related to trunk control disorder.

A Study to Compare Various Root Canal Cleaning Devices Based on Cavitation,Ultrasonic and Conventional Methods.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of various root canal cleaning devices based on the principle of cavitation, ultrasonics, and conventional methods in a normal healthy adult population aged between 18 to 75 years requiring root canal treatment. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Effectiveness of the cleaning mechanism - Evaluate the safety of use of the device. Participants will be provided root canal treatment. Participants will be asked to record their post-operative pain levels in a Patient Pain diary. The healing rate of the lesion will be examined at follow-up visits using intraoral X-rays. At the end of the study, a statistical analysis of the clinical outcomes of the root canal treatment will be examined and evaluated in every group.

Examination of the Effect of Counselling and Follow-up After Breast Cancer Awareness Education

The aim of the study was to examine the effect of counselling and follow-up after education on the risks and prevention methods of breast cancer on early diagnosis behaviours and healthy lifestyle behaviours. The population of the study will consist of female administrative staff working at Mersin University. The sample of the study will consist of 160 people. A total of 160 personnel determined by randomisation will be divided into group A (study) and group B (control) formed by the independent researcher in the computer environment. All participants will be given a one-hour training on breast cancer and will be practised with a model as well as a presentation. Group A will be counselled for 6 months after the training and a reminder message will be sent via SMS on Monday every week as "Check your modifiable risk factors for breast cancer" and their feedback will be received. In group B, no additional application will be made except for the training. The data of the study will be collected before and 6 months after the training by using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, Breast Cancer Early Diagnosis Behaviours Form, Counselling Form and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II. The data obtained from the study will be analysed in a computer environment. Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation will be used as descriptive statistics in the evaluation of the data.

Investigation of the Efficacy of Blood Flow Restricted Training in Lateral Elbow Tendinopathy

The investigators believe that blood flow-restricted training can result in increased caste hypertrophy and strength without stressing the tendon in lateral elbow tendinopathy, and that changes in local metabolic activities can be effective in the process of tendon healing. The researchers' aim in the study is to investigate the effectiveness of blood flow restriction training in lateral elbow tendinopathy for 8 weeks, in addition to the 2 days a week multi-modal physiotherapy program, which will be applied by limiting blood flow by 40-50% occlusion recommended for the upper extremity using the patient's systolic pressure to the severity of 20-30% of 1 maximum repetition, 75 repetitions including 30-15-15-15 repetitions and 30 seconds rest period between sets, remaining attached to the recommended 10-15 minutes period for the top extremity.

Functional Limitation, Pain and Quality of Life in Patients With Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy

Radiculopathy is a neurological condition in which transmission along a spinal nerve and its roots is limited or inhibited. It is most caused by spondylotic changes such as cervical disc herniation leading to nerve root compression, inflammatory changes, and the formation of bony prominences in this region [1]. Pain is the initial symptom and cervical radiculopathy should be suspected when pain radiates from the neck to the shoulder and arm, accompanied by sensory complaints and motor weakness. It is most commonly caused by spondylotic changes, such as cervical disc herniation and bony prominences in this area, leading to nerve root compression and inflammatory changes. Stenotic changes in the spine, which are often observed with aging, can cause nerve damage and compression in individuals, causing radicular pain. However, there is insufficient study in which the relationship between pain caused by cervical spondylotic radiculopathy caused by stenosis and functional disability, disability and quality of life due to radiculopathy in patients is insufficient. In addition, the lack of a comprehensive outcome scale that evaluates the functional limitation caused by radicular pain has also led to a deficiency in the evaluation of functional limitation. In this context, CRES is a newly developed scale used to evaluate functional limitation associated with radicular pain. In this context, in this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between pain, functional disability, disability and quality of life in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
