Long-Term Impact of COVID-19 Restrictions on Physical Activity and Social Interactions in Young Adults

Start date: June 14, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

There are studies on the impact of quarantine measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals' social interactions and physical activities. We think that the adaptation of individuals who have had COVID-19 infection to return to social and physical activities after restrictions may affect participation in these activities. The aim of this study is to investigate the long-term impact of COVID-19 restrictions on physical activity and social interaction in young adults, depending on whether they have had a COVID-19 infection.

At baseline, serum and saliva samples were collected, and the whole mouth clinical periodontal parameters were recorded from all subjects. Periodontitis patients received non-surgical periodontal therapy. Clinical parameters were re-measured, and samples were re-collected 1 and 3 months after therapy from periodontitis patients. Serum and salivary protein levels were analyzed by ELISA. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical tests.

NCT ID: NCT06135038 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Shoulder Pain

Injection in Patients With Chronic Shoulder Pain

Start date: February 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Chronic shoulder pain (CSP) is a musculoskeletal disease characterized by pain lasting more than 3 months. Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether pre-treatment injection in CSP treatment contributes to pain, functionality and quality of life. Methods: A total of 110 patients who met the inclusion criteria of the study were divided into 2 groups (55 patients in each group). A standard 15-session physical therapy program (hot pack, transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation(TENS), US and therapeutic exercises) was applied to all patients in both groups. Suprascapular Nerve Block was applied to Group I before treatment. Assessments were made using VAS-Pain, Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) and The Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) before and at the end of the treatment and in the posttreatment 3th months.

NCT ID: NCT06134674 Completed - Clinical trials for COVID-19 Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Early Versus Delayed Enteral Nutrition in Critically Ill Adults With COVID-19

Start date: October 20, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to determine the relationship between the nutritional profile of critically ill patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and disease severity, prognosis, and survival, to assess the ability to meet nutritional goals, EN complications, and reasons for discontinuation and postponement of feeding. The main questions aim to answer are the relationship between the duration of EN initiation and Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI) score, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), oxygenation status, MV, ICU, and length of hospital stay, overall mortality, and whether nutritional goals were met, EN complications, and reasons for discontinuation and postponement.

NCT ID: NCT06134505 Completed - Clinical trials for Diaper Dermatitis Healing

Evaluation of the Efficiency of Local Application of Bee Products in the Care of Diaper Dermatitis in Infants

Start date: December 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study was to evaluate the local application of bee products in the care of diaper dermatitis in infants. 1. H1: Barrier cream 1, consisting of a mixture of propolis, beeswax, queen bee larva and plants oil used in the care of diaper dermatitis, is more effective in recovering diaper dermatitis than barrier cream 2 containing zinc oxide. 2. H2: Barrier cream 1, consisting of a mixture of propolis, beeswax, queen bee larva and plants oil used in the care of diaper dermatitis, is more effective in recovering diaper dermatitis than olive oil. 3. H3: Diaper Dermatitis Severity Assessment Scale scores are lower in babies who use barrier cream 1, which consists of a mixture of propolis, beeswax, queen bee larva and plants oil, in the care of diaper dermatitis, compared to babies who use barrier cream 2, which contains zinc oxide. 4. H4: Diaper Dermatitis Severity Assessment Scale scores are lower in babies who use barrier cream 1, which consists of a mixture of propolis, beeswax, queen bee larva and plants oil, in the care of diaper dermatitis, than babies who use olive oil.

The Effect of Mandala Application on Anxiety Level and Caregiver Burden in Palliative Care

MANDALAPLIC
Start date: May 31, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The caregivers of palliative care patients can also be negatively affected during the palliative care process. Especially family caregivers may experience difficulties in physical, social, economic, and psychological aspects. Non-pharmacological approaches are utilized to cope with these difficulties. The mandala study is one of the non-pharmacological approaches and has been utilized to support patients and caregivers in various illnesses. Mandala is a method that anyone can apply, based on coloring circular patterns. Recent studies have reported that mandala contributes to improving psychological and physiological well-being. This study is designed in a randomized controlled design to examine the effects of mandala application on anxiety levels and caregiver burden in palliative care caregivers. Caregivers who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria will be randomly assigned to two groups using a computer program. Both groups of caregivers will be administered an information form, the STAI XT-1 State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and the Zarit Burden Interview Scale. Then, the intervention group will be asked to apply mandala twice a week for 30 minutes for one month. After one month, the scales will be administered again. The caregivers in the control group will not receive any intervention, and after one month, the scales will be administered, and mandala application will be suggested. According to G Power analysis, with a Type I error (α) of 0.05 and a power (1-β) of 0.80, the minimum sample size that will meet the requirements is determined to be a total of 86 individuals (experimental: 43, control: 43). Considering potential sample loss, the aim is to reach 45 participants in each group. The statistical analysis of the data will be performed using SPSS version 22.0. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, median, standard deviation, mean, minimum, maximum, percentage, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normal distribution (N>30), skewness, and kurtosis will be used for sociodemographic characteristics. Correlation tests will be used for scale relationships, and ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis, t-test, or Mann-Whitney U test and post-hoc tests will be used for scale comparisons according to independent variables. The significance level will be accepted as p<0.05.
