NCT ID: NCT04874090 Completed - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

The Effectiveness of Acupuncture Therapy on Pain in Parkinson's Disease

Start date: May 20, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a chronic, progressive, degenerative movement disorder that is characterized by motor and nonmotor symptoms and its incidence increases with age. It has been reported that 40-90% of patients have pain symptoms in PD. Pain can be the result of motor fluctuations, dystonic muscle contractions, deep visceral pain, and musculoskeletal pain.

NCT ID: NCT04873986 Active, not recruiting - Scoliosis Clinical Trials

Scoliosis Tele-Screening Test

Start date: November 23, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A new Scoliosis Tele-Screening Test (STS-Test) was developed by a study group of the "Scoliosis Research and Treatment Association Turkey". It will be sent to the families of schoolchildren by e-mail in Turkey. Participants with moderate and high risk for scoliosis according to the result of this test will be invited to the physical examination by the scoliosis specialists, if it is not possible, they will be evaluated via tele-medicine. Participants with moderate and high risks will be invited to the physical examination to the centers designated as research centers. Families who could not reach these centers will be asked to take pictures of their children according to the given instruction. They will be asked to send this photo to the researchers by e-mail. The researchers will be evaluated the TRACE and Adams' test from the photo and sent their opinions to the parents via e-mail. If this virtual analysis made by the expert suggests a suspicion of scoliosis, it will be recommended to see a specialist as soon as possible. The aim of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of this novel scoliosis tele-screening test. A secondary aim is to investigate the coherence of this new test between scoliosis physician and parent when applied to the same child. Specificity, sensitivity, negative predictive value, positive predictive value, and test accuracy will be calculated for the Scoliosis Tele-Screening Test. Correlation between STS-Test and Trace, Adams' test, and physician diagnosis will be analyzed.

NCT ID: NCT04873921 Completed - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Effects of Sterile Kinesio Tape on Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Start date: March 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is a surgical tissue graft replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament, located in the knee, to restore its function after an injury. ACLR is used as the gold standard in coping with pain, deformity, and instability for the patients. The most important factors affecting the success of both surgery and postoperative rehabilitation programs are edema, joint movement limitation and pain around the knee in the early postoperative period. If these parameters are managed well in the postoperative period, the quality of life of the patient increases much earlier. In this respect, kinesio taping treatment, which is practical, comfortable, and safe for the patient, is one of the complementary treatment modalities with positive clinical results. No researchers have studied the effects of Sterile Kinesio Tape applied during ACL reconstruction on edema, pain and range of motion in immediate care postoperatively. The purpose of our study İS to assess effects of Sterile Kinesio Tape application on postoperative edema, pain and range of motion after ACLR within 72 hours. Thirty-seven patients who have undergone ACLR will be recruited to our study. Patients will be randomized into 2 groups; Group 1: Sterile Kinesio tape application, Group 2: Control group. All patients will be assessed for pain intensity (with Visual Analog Scale-VAS), edema (with tape measurement) and range of motion (with goniometric measurement-knee flexion/extension). Assessments will be done every day for 3 days (a total of 3 measurements). Group 1 will receive Sterile Kinesio Taping application within 72 hours applied with Sterile Web Cut Kinesio Tape without tension additional to standard during ACLR postoperative care. Group 2 will receive only standard postoperative care.

NCT ID: NCT04873908 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Effects of Modified Constraint-Induced on Chronic Stroke Patients

Start date: May 5, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the present study, it was aimed to compare the proprioception training applied in addition to conventional treatment and Modified Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy treatment in patients with chronic strokes and to investigate the effects on proprioception, spasticity, functional motor skills and daily living activities in the upper extremity.

NCT ID: NCT04873804 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

The Effect of Transcranial Direct Stimulation on Cognitive Functions of Healthy Adults

Start date: October 10, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS) has been used to improve cognitive functions in healthy young adults. Purpose: To investigate the effect of TDCS application on different cortex regions on cognitive function. Methods: Sixty individuals aged 18-30 were included in the study. The participants were randomly divided into the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (Left DLPFC Group)(n=20), the right posterior parietal cortex (Right PPC Group)(n=20), and the sham group (Sham Group)(n=20). tDCS was applied for 20 minutes on weekdays for 2 weeks. The participants were evaluated in terms of cognitive functions with Neuropsychometric Test Battery before and after treatment.

NCT ID: NCT04873791 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Effects of Different Living Environments in Geriatric Individuals: A Pilot Study

Start date: April 29, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In Turkey, 63% of geriatric people who make up approximately 8.3% of the entire population live in their own living environment, 36% live with their children and 1% live in nursing homes. The number of individuals living in nursing homes is increasing as the nuclear family structure becomes more evident. National Social Security programs give special importance to nursing home restructuring and Social Health Policy aims to increase practices related to "aging in place" and "Active and Healthy Ageing" for geriatric individuals. In this context, projects aimed at preventing secondary negative symptoms in aging and supporting the quality aging process are outstanding. The aim of this study is to assess and compare cognitive functions, balance, musculoskeletal pain severity, psychological state, participation level in activities of daily living, and quality of life of geriatric individuals living different environments.

NCT ID: NCT04873362 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase III, two-arm, randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled study in participants with HER2-positive primary breast cancer who have received preoperative chemotherapy and HER2-directed therapy, including trastuzumab followed by surgery, with a finding of residual invasive disease in the breast and/or axillary lymph nodes. As of June 4, 2024, this study is no longer accepting any newly screened participants.

Closed Loop Ventilation in Patients With COVID-19

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Transpulmonary pressure may be higher in ARDS patients due to decreased respiratory system compliance. The hypothesis is that tidal volumes which are generated by Intellivent- Adaptive support ventilation (ASV) are safe range by transpulmonary pressure.
