There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Tympanoplasty is the general name given to operations in which the defect in the tympanic membrane is repaired with a connective tissue graft to correct the pathology in chronic otitis media and its sequelae. The pathology in the middle ear and mastoid system may vary from a central tympanic membrane perforation in which the mucosa and ossicles in the middle ear are completely dry to cholesteatoma in which the entire membrane and ossicles in the middle ear are destroyed and sometimes complications such as facial paralysis, labyrinth fistula, meningitis and brain abscess are observed. A simple myringoplasty in which only the perforated eardrum is repaired is the simplest type of tympanoplasty. A radical masteidectomy is a procedure in which the middle ear and the outer ear mastoid system are moulded into a single cavity. Anxiety is an emotional state defined as a restless feeling whose source is usually uncertain. It may cause abnormal haemodynamic changes as a result of sympathetic, parasympathetic and endocrine stimulation. Patients' anxiety and fear increase during the time they are waiting for the operation. Elimination of anxiety in the preoperative preparation period is important to improve the quality of postoperative recovery and reduce costs (4). Scales such as State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI: State-Trait Anxiety Inventory), APAIS, Hospital Depression and Anxiety Scale (HADS), and Beck Anxiety Scale (Beck Anxiety Scale), which measure trait and state anxiety separately, can be used to determine anxiety levels. Postoperative sore throat (POST) is a common complication of general anesthesia. Although it is less harmful than other complications, it decreases postoperative comfort of patients and may prolong hospital stay. After intubation, patients may experience complications such as hoarseness, dysphagia, cough and dry throat with POST. The incidence related to tracheal intubation has been reported to be 62% and it is thought to be caused by injury with laryngoscopy or damage to the tracheal mucosa due to cuff pressure. Sore throat in the postoperative period negatively affects patient comfort and may lead to an unpleasant anesthetic experience. This study aimed to reveal the relationship between preoperative anxiety level and postoperative sore throat and other complications in patients undergoing tympanoplasty.
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a condition that occurs with physical and psychological symptoms in the late luteal phase of the menstrual cycle in women and affects the physical and mental well-being of the individual. Physiological symptoms; edema, headache, fatigue, weight gain and breast swelling and tenderness, and psychological symptoms; It can be seen as tension, anger, depressed mood or stress. Although it usually ends with the onset of menstruation, its repetition with each menstrual cycle affects the individual's pain coping strategies, sleep and quality of life. Different methods such as pharmacological agents, physiotherapy applications, nutrition and lifestyle adjustments, breathing exercises, stress management, meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy are used to cope with PMS, which appears with symptoms of different severities from individual to individual.
The aim is to quantify the fear of movement and quality of life of telephone education on lumbar disc herniation surgery.
This study aims to evaluate acceptability and initial effectiveness of an internet-based self-help program utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy specifically for healthcare workers, intending to address burnout.
This study aims to evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes of patients undergoing anatomical single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with periosteal-patellar tendon-bone autograft and press-fit tibial fixation technique. The study also aims to compare these outcomes with other reconstruction techniques in the literature. The research investigates the results of a novel surgical technique, providing a minimally invasive and faster rehabilitation for patients undergoing surgery due to anterior cruciate ligament rupture. The technique does not use any screws or staples for tibial fixation, but it carries similar risks as existing techniques. The technique, similar to the well-known bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) autograft technique, creates minimal bone defect at the tibial tuberosity. Over time, the defect remodels and causes minimal clinical discomfort. Despite these limitations, the authors expect patients operated with the investigated new technique to experience less postoperative swelling, less pain, faster mobilization, and earlier rehabilitation.
Earthquakes in Türkiye cause survivors to develop serious and prolonged mental health issues and adapted versions of cognitive behavioral therapy has proven to be successful in addressing these concerns. The main goal of this pilot randomized control trial (RCT) is to test potential effectiveness of Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CA-CBT) in reducing psychological distress and depressive symptoms and increasing well-being of earthquake survivors.
The study will be conducted on individuals with stoma followed in the stoma therapy outpatient clinic of a university hospital. Based on the f values of the methods to be studied in the literature review, the total sample size found using the GPOWER program with an effect size of 0.4 (Cohen), 90% power and 0.05% margin of error was found to be n = 44. The sample of the research was determined as 52 in this direction. "Informed Consent Form, State-Trait Anxiety Scale, Adaptation Scale for Individuals with Ostomies" will be filled out. Scales will be collected for both groups on postoperative day 1, day 15, and 1 month after surgery. The patients were called by phone on the 7th, 14th and 21st postoperative days and education and counseling services were provided. SPSS package program will be used to analyze the data.
to investigate the effect of adductor canal block applied with two different approaches in the treatment of pain after TKA surgery on pain control and functional mobility.
Purpose of the Study: The aim of this study is to examine the effect of bladder stimulation technique and bathing method on urine collection in term infants hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit. Content of the Study: This study will consist of 3 groups. Babies in the 1st group, the control group, will be fed only with breast milk or formula, and after 20 minutes, a bladder will be inserted and urination will be expected. The babies in the second group, the bladder stimulation technique application group, will also be placed in a urine bag 20 minutes after feeding. Then the bladder stimulation technique will be applied. This technique; consists of two consecutive maneuvers. In the first maneuver, the bladder (Urine Bag) is stimulated by hitting the suprapubic (lower parts of the abdomen) area for 30 seconds at a frequency of 100 touches per minute. In the second maneuver, a 30-second circular massage is applied to the paravertebral region (located next to the spine). Babies in the 3rd group, the bathing group, will be given a bath under running water for no longer than 5 minutes before feeding. After the bath, the baby will be fed, and a urine bag will be inserted 20 minutes after the feeding. Urine urination will be monitored by running the stopwatch immediately after the urine bag is placed on all babies. When the baby urinates, the stopwatch will be stopped and the time and success of urination will be recorded on the observation form by the researcher.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of social media addiction on functional exercise capacity and maximal exercise capacity in university students.
