Screening period: 2 to up to 4 weeks Treatment period: 52-week investigational medicinal product (IMP) intervention (dupilumab or matching placebo) from Week 0 to Week 52 Open-label arm (optional): administration of open-label dupilumab therapy for study participants who qualify. Follow-up period: 12 weeks The maximum duration of study per participant is up to 68 weeks.
A prior research indicated that asynchrony between the patient and ventilator occurred in 33 percent of 19,175 breaths, and was seen in every patient. The most prevalent kind of asynchrony was ineffective triggering (68%), followed by delayed termination (19%), double triggering (4%) and premature termination (3%). Asynchrony between the patient and ventilator increased considerably with decreasing levels of peak inspiratory pressure, positive end-expiratory pressure, and set frequency.Despite this, more asynchrony categories exist, and there is no widely accepted categorization. Major asynchronies, however, include auto trigger, ineffective effort, and double trigger, while minor asynchronies include early/late cycle, trigger delay, and spontaneous breaths during a mandatory breath. This study aims to compare the safety and efficacy of a closed-loop synchronization controller with conventional control of synchronization during invasive mechanical ventilation of spontaneous breathing of pediatric patients in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
This study aimed to investigate the production of reactive oxygen derivatives (ROS) and reactive nitrogen derivatives (RNT) in female patients with knee OA, and their effects on oxidative stress by evaluating before and after physical therapy in female patients with gonarthrosis who have Kellegren-Lawrence Staging Scale Stage II and III. aimed. To this study; All female cases over the age of 40 who applied to Başkent University Ankara Hospital and were diagnosed with knee OA by a specialist doctor will be included. Method After the cases participating in the study were checked by a specialist physician, the cases that did not prevent them from being included in the study; It will be graded according to the Kellegren-Lawrence Staging Scale. Stage II and III cases will be included in the study. Sociodemographic characteristics of the patients will be recorded before the treatment. 10 sessions of physical therapy program will be applied to the patients. Treatment program 20 minutes Hot pack (HP), 60-100 Hz frequency range, 60 pulse duration and 20 minutes of conventional TENS (Enraf-NoniusBDelftechpark 39, 2600 AV, Delft, The Netherlands) with the patient comfortable feeling and 10 minutes continuous around the knee A home exercise program will be given with ultrasound (Enraf-Nonius-B Delftechpark 39; 1-MHz; 1.5 watts/cm2) to strengthen the muscles around the knees. Those with acute inflammation of the knee joint, those who underwent surgery in the knee joint for any reason or any trauma to the lower extremity, those with a history of uncontrollable high blood pressure, any neurological or vestibular problems, those who have used steroid injections in the last two months, and any For this reason, patients with systemic diseases that will affect the study will be excluded from the study. Staging criteria according to Kellegren-Lawrence Staging Scale; Stage 0: Normal Stage 1: Possible osteophyte Stage 2: Definite osteophyte, suspected narrowing of joint space Stage 3: Moderate osteophyte, definite narrowing Stage 4: Extensive osteophyte, marked narrowing, sclerosis (Kellegren and Lawrence, 1957). Biochemical analyzes: To this study; Blood samples will be taken before and after treatment from a female patient over 40 years old who was diagnosed with knee OA at Başkent University Ankara Hospital. Total antioxidant level (TAS): It will be determined by an automatic measurement method based on the fact that the characteristic color formed by the 2,2'azino-bis (3-ethylbenz-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical is brightened by the antioxidants in the sample added to the medium (Erel, 2004). Results will be given in mmol Trolox eqivalen/L. Total oxidant level (TOS): will be determined by automatic measurement method (Erel, 2005). The oxidants in the sample have the task of converting the ferrous ion complex to a ferric ion. Ferric ion (Fe3+) formed by oxidation of iron (Fe2+) to its more stable form (Fe2O3) creates color with xylenol orange in acidic environment. The intensity of the color measured spectrophotometrically is related to the total amount of oxidant molecules present in the sample. The measurement is calibrated with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and the results will be given as micromolar H2O2 equivalent per liter (µmol H2O2 equiv./L) (Sydow, 1985). Nitric oxide (NO): Serum nitric oxide concentration (Mirand et al, 2001) will be measured in a spectrophotometer according to the method (PowerWawe XS, BioTek, USA). Serum samples will be deproteinized with 10% zinc sulfate. In this method, nitrate was converted to nitrite with Vanadium (III) chloride. It is based on the measurement of the complex diazonium compound as a result of the reaction of nitrite and sulfanilamide N-(1-Naphthy) ethylene diamine dihydrochloride in an acidic medium. High-density lipoprotein (HDL): It will be run in an autoanalyzer using the Biotrol trademark kit and given in mg/dl. The results will be recorded for each individual on the information sheet.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive lung disease characterized by persistent airflow obstruction and chronic respiratory symptoms or alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency in response to inhaled cigarette smoke or other irritants. The excessive morbidity and mortality associated with COPD acute exacerbations represent a significant public health problem that places a high burden on patients, their families and society. In frequent and severe exacerbations, patients may experience a decrease in quality of life, depression, and even death up to one year after hospitalization. Costs associated with COPD are more than $15.5 billion, and hospitalizations and repeated hospital admissions related to acute exacerbations alone account for 70% of all costs. For these reasons, efforts to reduce hospital admissions and hospitalizations associated with recurrent exacerbations are imperative to improve patient's quality of life and reduce the societal burden.
The research was carried out to determine the effect of baby warmer swaddle, which has a heating system used after the birth of preterm babies, on the development of hypothermia. Design: Randomized controlled clinical trial Setting: The research was carried out in the NICU of a training and research hospital in Istanbul. Method: A total of 65 babies between 32-37 weeks of gestation were included in the study. In accordance with the routine procedure of the clinic, preterm babies wrapped in polyethylene bags after birth formed the control group (n=33), while babies wrapped in polyethylene bags and placed in a swaddle with a heating system formed the experimental group (n=32).
Background/Aims Parents of children with cerebral palsy face higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression, sadness, exhaustion and burnout. Parent-based therapies have been found to increase parents' satisfaction with therapy, parent-child interactions and reduced parental stress. This study examined the effects of parent-based occupational therapy on stress levels, coping skills, and emotional skills and competencies of parents of children with cerebral palsy. Methods A total of 15 children and their parents who were admitted to the paediatric rehabilitation unit for occupational therapy were divided into two groups (control group: n=7, study group: n=8) using the coin toss randomisation method. The control group received standard occupational thearpy, while the study group received parent-based occupational therapy for 45 minutes a session, twice a week, until 10 sessions had been completed. Participants were evaluated before and after the intervention.
Although there are fasting guidelines offered by the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) for managing preoperative patient assessment, some patients may need to be more cautious about the risk of aspiration. Since ultrasound has been a part of perioperative anesthesiology practice, it is simple to assess gastric content preoperatively with bedside ultrasonography (USG). More research is necessary to define elective surgeries with a possible risk of aspiration. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the adequacy of standard fasting protocols in post-traumatic fracture surgery by measuring and evaluating gastric volume and content with USG in the preoperative operating room.
This study, which was designed as a randomized placebo-controlled experimental study, was conducted to determine the effect of inhalation aromatherapy with lavender essential oil on pain, anxiety and sleep quality in burn patients.
Study is designed to investigate whether the history of ERCP is associated with subtotal cholecystectomy rates in patients underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy operations with the diagnosis of acute cholecystitis.
The objectives of this study cover both the vibration stimulation intervention and its outcomes. Patients with stroke frequently experience spasm in both the lower and upper extremities, which impairs sensory perception and motor function. This study aims to evaluate the effects of vibration therapy on the forearm and arm extensors of stroke patients and to report on changes in sensory perception and motor function measures. Although vibration therapy has lately been utilized to treat these limbs, there haven't been enough trials to determine how beneficial it is in the application procedure. This study aims to investigate the outcomes and effectiveness of a vibration therapy program administered to the extensor muscles.
