There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The aim of this experimental study was to investigate the effect of prone position use on ventilator values, blood gas and ventilator-associated pneumonia in intensive care unit patients. Between June 2021 and January 2022, 40 trials and 40 control patients were included in the intensive care units of two private hospitals and received mechanical ventilation support. The mechanical ventilator values, arterial blood gases and ventilator-related pneumonia conditions were evaluated and followed for at least 5 to 10 days just before the position was given by comparing the prone position (PP) and the patients were brought back into the supine position. The data were collected using 'Patient Follow-up Charts', 'Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score', 'Braden Pressure Half Risk Assessment' and 'Ramsey Sedation Scale' prepared in line with patient introduction form and evidence-based guidelines. In addition, life findings, cultural results and blood gas analyses were performed. Statistical analysis was performed using the 'NCSS (Number Cruncher Statistical System) 2007 (Kaysville, Utah, USA)' program. 'Descriptive statistics, parametric and nonparametric tests' were used to evaluate the data. The level of statistical signiation was considered 'p<0.05'.
Osteoporosis is a condition that describes compromised skeletal microarchitecture in general, with clinical signs of decreased bone mineral density. Multiple sclerosis patients are at increased risk for developing osteoporosis. Identifying whether multiple sclerosis patients have information and awareness about this disease is crucial. This study is aimed to investigate awareness and knowledge of osteoporosis in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. The study also aimed to assess potential differences and correlations in osteoporosis knowledge and awareness among MS patients based on gender, education levels, and risk of falls
Psychological causes are often cited as the most important of the underlying factors for bruxism. However, there are very few studies that can objectively demonstrate this. There are studies that are generally based on subjective data, that is, on questionnaires that indicate anxiety or stress. Recent studies have shown that tryptophan and its metabolites are associated with psychological health. In this study, researchers will measure the serum values of metabolites in the tryptophan pathway. Also, researchers will observe whether these metabolite levels differ significantly in patients with and without bruxism.
Today, common and easily accessible android-based smart devices capable of running virtual reality are used. The image is obtained using a combination of framed simple optical lenses that hold the phone at a fixed distance perpendicular to the user's gaze direction. The working system of three-dimensional resuscitation devices is based on stereographic vision properties. After the relevant applications are installed on the smartphone, the device divides the screen into two, and thanks to the acquisition of different images for the right and left eyes, the illusion of the spatial existence of three-dimensional animated objects is obtained. The use of virtual reality application, which is used as a non-pharmacological method in different studies, has not been found in IUD (Intrauterine device) applications. This study was planned to examine the effect of virtual reality applications, which will distract their attention during the procedure, on the pain and anxiety levels experienced in women who underwent IUD in the septic area in Esenyurt Necmi Kadıoğlu State Hospital.
It is aimed to examine the effects of person-centered lifestyle intervention on occupational performance, general health status, and quality of life in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis.
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of warm water foot baths on comfort, fatigue, and dialysis symptoms in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial. Data were collected with a total of 58 patients,31 in the intervention group and 27 in the placebo group. The data in the study is collected using the intervention and control group informed volunteer Form, Patient Demonstration Form, foot Bath Application Monitoring Chart, fatigue VAS Scale Form, dialysis Symptom Index, and Hemodialysis Comfort Scale.
The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of muscle quality on fear of fall, and lower extremity functionality in older women. The differences between muscle quality, fear of falling and lower extremity functionality in the elderly male and female participating in the study were investigated. Older women had worse muscle quality, higher fall concern and less lower extremity functionality than older men.
It is very important to protect and improve the physical, mental and social health of nurses, especially in the event that nurses frequently encounter patients diagnosed or suspected of COVID-19 and are exposed to the virus for a long time due to the long duration of care, increasing cases and the death of their colleagues. Que et al., 2020). Current researches have made it necessary for nurses to have difficulties in effectively coping with the anxiety experienced in the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world, and to apply new effective methods, as their training includes effective coping methods (Feinstein and Church, 2010). There are studies that are effective in reducing stress and anxiety, such as meditation, yoga, and breathing therapies, which are recommended to prevent the increase in stress and anxiety levels that may occur in nurses by evaluating the experienced situations (Labrague et al., 2020; Vieta et al., 2020). In addition to these applications, it is seen that Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has been increasingly used recently in controlling and reducing anxiety (Hartmann, 2016). EFT is a type of energy-based psychotherapy that combines the components of Western psychology and Eastern medicine, applied to eliminate negative thoughts and feelings and problems related to emotions (İnangil et al., 2020; Church, 2013). Although the EFT technique is used in many different areas today, its effect on the level of anxiety in nurses during the COVID-19 process is not yet known. As a result, to evaluate the effect of EFT, whose positive results have been proven by many studies, on the anxiety level of nurses caring for COVID-19 patients.
The aim of the study was to observe the effect of the use of vibrating tourniquet and distraction card on the pain, fear and anxiety levels felt during the blood collection process in children. The study was conducted between July 2021 and March 2022 as a randomized controlled study with totally 120 children in three groups. The 'Child and Parent Identification Form' was used for socio-demographic data about the child and the parent before phlebotomy. The 'Visual Analog Scale (VAS)', 'Child Fear Scale (CFS)' and 'Child Anxiety Scale-State Scale (ÇAS-D)' were used before, during and after the phlebotomy. Vibrating Tourniquet Group (intervention group 1) consists of a total of 40 children. Distraction Cards Group (intervention group 2) consists of a total of 40 children. Control group consists of a total of 40 children.
The goal of this prospective randomized study was to compare the efficacy of transversus abdominis plane block and transversalis fascia plane block for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: [Is transversalis fascia plane block more effective in postoperative analgesia? ] [Is there a difference between the duration of postoperative first analgesia requirement? ] Since the pain scores after the block at the end of the operation will be evaluated during the postoperative 24 hours, the participants will be asked to give a value between 0 and 10 in certain time periods.
