It has been reported that non-pharmacological methods can be used as an alternative in addition to pharmacological methods to reduce pain, anxiety, stress and inflammatory response that begins with the surgical incision in the intraoperative period and continues throughout the operation. It has been reported that music can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological method to reduce pain and anxiety in the perioperative period, as well as surgical stress and the related stress response. The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that music used as a non-pharmacological method in the intraoperative period can reduce inflammatory response in living donor hepatectomy.

Using Color Doppler US Artifact to Identify Tumor Markers

Before neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in cases of locally advanced breast cancer, malignant masses in the breast and biopsy-proven tumor involvement axillary lymph nodes are marked with metallic markers. The primary objective of this marking is to establish the precise localization of the tumor which response to NACT partial or completely. However, selecting the marker with ultrasound (US) proves challenging in many instances. Research studies indicate that patients with occult markers are observed at a frequency of 24%. Some studies propose that the twinkling artifact serves as a reliable method for accurately indicating the localization of certain tumor markers. This artifact is deemed particularly helpful for lesions situated in the axilla or posterior of the breast, which may not be visible with US and are undetectable with mammography. In the context of Color Doppler examination, the investigators have noted the presence of another color Doppler artifact which can aid in determining marker localization. When the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) is reduced and the color gain is increased, color noise, termed as color confusion or blooming artifact/effect, is observed within the color steer. While this color confusion tends to mask healthy tissues, it has been observed that the tumor marker remains unaffected by the blooming effect. Consequently, this artifact serves to distinctly reveal the borders and localization of the tumor marker. In some studies, it has been stated that the twinkling artifact, which is a color Doppler artifact and whose mechanism is not fully understood, is a reliable method to accurately indicate the localization of some tumor markers. It has been reported that this artifact will be very helpful, especially in lesions located in the axilla or posterior of the breast, which cannot be seen with US and cannot be detected with mammography . In Color Doppler examination, we saw that another color Doppler artifact, such as the twinkling artifact, could also be helpful in determining marker localization. When the PRF is reduced and the color gain is increased, color noise, which is selected as color confusion and can be called blooming artifact or blooming effect-like, is observed in all structures within the color steer. While healthy tissues are masked by this color confusion, the tumor marker is protected from the blooming effect. Thus, with this artifact, tumor marker borders and localization are clearly revealed.

The Effect of the Nurses Support Program on Fatigue in MS Patient

The research will be carried out as a randomized controlled experimental study to examine the effect of a nursing support program supported by a Web-based education program on the management of fatigue symptoms of patients who are under treatment and care in the Multiple Sclerosis clinic of a university hospital.Patients will receive 5 weeks of standard care. At the end of 5 weeks, they will enter a training program. After this online training program, which will be 5 weeks and 2 sessions per week, the change in the patients' fatigue, sleep quality and quality of life will be analyzed.

Nature-Based Sound Application For Hemodialysis Patients

Chronic renal failure is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world and in our country. Hemodialysis is the most commonly used treatment method in the treatment of chronic renal failure. In addition to its important benefits, hemodialysis treatment causes many problems such as fatigue, bone and joint pain, insomnia, mood disorders, sexual problems, paresthesia and nausea. In addition, patient comfort is adversely affected due to physical, psychosocial and environmental problems in hemodialysis patients. Elimination of symptoms in hemodialysis patients and ensuring patient comfort are important components of quality nursing care. For this purpose, it is reported that non-pharmacological evidence-based approaches such as listening to music, yoga, and exercise are used in the literature. Although there are studies examining the effectiveness of listening to music, the number of studies examining the effectiveness of nature-based sounds in hemodialysis patients is quite limited. It is known that sounds such as bird, ocean, water, wind sound have beneficial effects on human health in terms of physiological and psychosocial aspects. This project is to determine the effect of listening to nature sounds during hemodialysis treatment on fatigue and patient comfort. Type of Study: The project was planned as a randomized controlled experimental study. Population and Sample: The population of the study consists of patients who are treated in the Hemodialysis Unit of Bartin State Hospital. The sample was taken as d=0.80 power=0.90, α=0.05 and β=0.20, taking into account the data obtained from a similar study, and it was calculated as 30 patients in the intervention group and 30 patients in the control group, in total 60 patients. Inclusion criteria for the study: - To be receiving hemodialysis treatment for at least 6 months, - Being over 18 years old, - Not having a hearing and speaking disability, - Not have a cognitive disability. Exclusion criteria from the study: - Receiving hemodialysis treatment for less than 6 months, - Do not listen to the nature-based audio application for 30 minutes - Being under the age of 18, - Hearing and speech impairment, - Having a cognitive disability.
