Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Teaching Method With Simulation in Electronic Fetal Monitoring Management

Electro fetal monitor monitoring in the antepartum and intrapartum periods is one of the most important responsibilities of midwives, who have important roles and responsibilities in maintaining and managing the health of women and newborns before, during and after delivery. Although midwives receive training on EFM monitoring with classical methods before graduation, they may experience problems in EFM monitoring in the clinical field after graduation. For this reason, midwife students should have the knowledge, skills and self-efficacy about a good level of EFM monitoring during their undergraduate education. In recent years, simulation-based education in the field of health has increased rapidly. This method creates an opportunity for health professionals, students, patient assessment, interaction and holistic care without compromising patient safety, and develops participants' critical thinking, clinical decision making and problem solving skills. In this context, it is very important to evaluate the EFM trace in the antepartum and intrapartum periods, to determine the possible risks, to plan, implement and evaluate the interventions, to provide the emergency crisis management in a short time without affecting the fetal health, and to increase the self-confidence of the midwives. The research was planned quantitatively in the form of randomized control-intervention of the scenario-based realistic simulation method, to increase the satisfaction and self-confidence levels of midwifery students in learning, to evaluate the simulation design and educational effectiveness, in EFM management. The research will facilitate midwifery students to intervene with the patient in a shorter time, with confidence and with sufficient clinical skills, and patient safety will be increased. It will also allow for the reduction of erroneous clinical practices and malpractices. This research aims to evaluate the effect of high-fidelity simulation teaching method on knowledge, satisfaction and self-efficacy of midwifery students in EFM follow-up.

The Effects of Systemic Isotretinoin Treatment on Adrenal Steroid and Sex Hormones Level in Severe Acne Vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease involving the pilosebaceous unit, affecting approximately 95% of adolescents and young adults. Follicular hyperkeratinization, increased sebum production, androgen hormones and inflammation play a role in the pathogenesis of acne. Androgens (Testosterone, DHEA-S and DHT) play a role in the development of acne, hypertrophy of the sebaceous glands and increased sebum production. Androgen receptors are located in the basal layer of the sebaceous glands keratinocytes and they are located in the outer sheath of the hair follicle. These receptors are responsible for the proliferative action of keratinocytes. The relationship between androgen hormones and acne in women and prepubertal children is well known. Many studies have shown a strong association between acne and hyperandrogenism in women. Systemic isotretinoin therapy can be used in patients with severe acne vulgaris who do not respond to topical and oral antibiotic treatments. In recent studies, it has been shown that systemic isotretinoin used in acne treatment changes many hormones such as GnRH, FSH, LH, Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, TSH, T4 and Prolactin and causes side effects such as menstrual irregularity and hirsutism. However, data on the effect of oral isotretinoin on adrenal and sex hormones are contradictory. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the effect of oral isotretinoin on adrenal steroid and sex hormone levels and to compare it with a healthy control. Isotretinoin treatment is started in acne vulgaris patients at a dose of 0.5-0.8mg/kg/day. The total cumulative dose is 120 mg/kg. At baseline and at the 3rd month of isotretinoin treatment, 17-OH Progesterone, DHEA, DHEAS, Androstenedione, Aldosterone, Testosterone, Dihydrotestosterone, Estradiol, 17-OH Pregnenolone, Androsterone, Cortisol, Corticosterone, 11-Degesterone, 21, -Deoxycortisol, Pregnenolone, 11-Deoxycorticostreone hormones will be evaluated with LCMS/MS technique. In addition, the FSH, LH, Prolactin, Estrogen, Testosterone, free testosterone, DHEA-s, SHBG, TSH, T4 hormone levels of the patients will be evaluated by ELISA method. In the baseline 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th months of the treatment and 3 months after the treatment, the patients' height, weight, body mass index measurements, VAS scoring of patient treatment satisfaction, Global Acne Severity Score, Acne Quality of Life Score, and Modified Ferriman Gallwey Score for hirsutism will be recorded. The side effects of isotretinoin such as menstrual irregularity, increased hair growth, and cheilitis, dryness of the oral mucosa, skin dryness, dermatitis seen in patients during treatment will be recorded. *Hormone tests were performed on 2th and 3rd days of menstruation

Today, many centers still perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) cognitive prostate biopsy. The efficacy of detecting clinically significant prostate cancer, which is thought to be due to the experience of the urologist who performed the sampling and the difference in experience of the radiologists who performed the Multiparametric Prostate Magnetic Resonance (MPMR) evaluation, has been reported between 25% and 34% in the literature. Acute Responses of Active Video Games and Traditional Exercise Program in in Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension

At least 20 volunteers with a diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension in the Department of Cardiology of Dokuz Eylul University and who meet the criteria for follow-up and inclusion will participate in the study. The aim of this study is to examine the acute effects of active video games compared to traditional exercise and the effects on energy expenditure and enjoyment in PD patients. Demographic and clinical information of the participants will be questioned. Active video games and home-based exercise sessions will be held randomly/by the same person with a break of at least 1 day in 1 week, lasting 20 minutes. Heart rate, blood pressure, shortness of breath and oxygen saturation will be measured before and after the sessions. In addition, energy expenditure, heart rate, perceived exertion, shortness of breath and oxygen saturation will be recorded during the sessions. In addition, arterial stiffness will be evaluated with a non-invasive device. At the end of the sessions, whether people like active video games or not will be questioned with a 10-point Likert-type scale.

The Effect of Training Prepared in Line With Fracture Liaison Service Model on Frailty in Hip Surgery Patients

This study is a randomized controlled experimental research with pretest-posttest control group. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the training prepared in line with the fracture liaison service model on the level of frailty, care dependency and fear of movement in patients undergoing hip surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are as follows: - Does the training provided to patients undergoing hip surgery in line with the fracture liaison service model have an effect on the level of frailty of patients? - Does the training provided to patients undergoing hip surgery in line with the fracture liaison service model have an effect on patients' care dependency? - Does the education given to patients undergoing hip surgery in line with the fracture liaison service model have an effect on patients' fear of movement? It is very important to prevent secondary fractures that may occur in patients undergoing hip surgery. Therefore, the most appropriate prevention interventions to reduce fractures in patients depend on the risk profile and the place of education for hospitalized patients is very important. In this study, Personal Information Collection Form, Patient Follow-up Form, Edmonton Frailty Scale, Causes of Kinesiophobia Scale and Care Dependency Scale will be applied to control and intervention group patients. It is planned to provide training to the intervention group patients in line with the fracture liaison service model. This study will evaluate the effect of the training on patients' level of frailty, care dependency and fear of movement.

Individuals with Parkinson's disease demonstrate impaired motor learning, including a slower acquisition rate and poor retention, which may result from deficits in cognitive function, especially executive function. Considering the reduced motor learning ability in this patient group, exercises should be designed with a focus on strengthening sensory inputs and basic functional training. Therefore, the investigators established this program according to previous experience published study [NCT04063605]. Therefore, the feasibility of this rehabilitation protocol, which combines motor learning and clinical pilates principles and is adapted to the needs of individuals with Parkinson's disease, will be examined.
