There are about 2143 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Slovakia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will test whether darapladib can safely lower the chances of having a cardiovascular event (such as a heart attack or urgent coronary revascularization (e.g. medical procedures performed to restore the normal blood flow in patients with atherosclerosis)) when treatment is started within 30 days after an acute coronary syndrome (also called ACS).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of various doses of YM150 (the experimental drug) in the prevention of ischemic vascular events in subjects with recent acute coronary syndromes.
The Primary Objective was to assess the efficacy of celivarone for the prevention of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) interventions or death. Secondary Objectives were: - To assess the tolerability and safety of the different dose regimens of celivarone in the selected population. - To document SSR149744 plasma levels during the study.
RATIONALE: Paclitaxel is one of the most widely used human anticancer agents. Paclitaxel has a low degree of solubility and Cremophor EL is typically used as the solubiliser. Cremophor EL is known to cause hypersensitivity reactions that can be life-threatening. As Paclical® does not contain Cremophor EL, hypersensitivity reactions can be expected to be less. PURPOSE: To study the efficay and safety of two different formulations of paclitaxel, Paclical® and Taxol®.
The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of Eslicarbazepine acetate (BIA 2-093) when given with other anti-epileptic drugs to treat children with partial seizures whose condition has not been controlled by other drug treatments.
The research study is testing the investigational drug necitumumab in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The aim of this study is to determine if necitumumab, given together with a standard chemotherapy combination consisting of cisplatin and pemetrexed will be more effective in improving participant disease than the standard chemotherapy combination alone.
This clinical trial tests the pain relieving effectiveness of OROS hydromorphone, a once-daily formulation of a strong opioid against placebo in patients, who are suffering from pain due to osteoarthritis of the hip or the knee and who previously did not receive any strong opioids. The clinical trial tests the effect of the treatment on symptoms of pain, stiffness and physical function. The effect of the treatment on parameters on health related quality of life as well as quality of sleep will be measured.
This trial was conducted in Europe. The aim of this clinical trial was to evaluate if the pharmacokinetic and safety profiles of NN1250 (insulin degludec) are altered to such an extent that the dose should be adjusted in subjects with impaired liver function compared to the dose for subjects with normal liver function.
This trial is conducted in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this clinical trial is to compare NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)) with insulin glargine (IGlar) plus insulin aspart (IAsp) with/without metformin and with/without pioglitazone in subjects with type 2 diabetes (main period) followed by investigating the long-term safety in terms of comparing NN1250 with insulin glargine plus insulin aspart with or without metformin and with or without pioglitazone in subjects with type 2 diabetes. All oral anti-diabetic drug (OAD) treatment will be discontinued, if applicable, when trial participant enters the trial (NN1250-3582) with the exception of metformin and pioglitazone. Subjects who consent to participate in the extension trial (NN1250-3667) will continue to receive the treatment to which they were randomly allocated in the 52 week trial NN1250-3582. The main period is registered internally at Novo Nordisk as NN1250-3582 while the extension period is registered as NN1250-3667.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of canagliflozin (JNJ-28431754) compared with glimepiride in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with inadequate control despite treatment with metformin.
