There are about 2143 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Slovakia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Primary Objective: - To evaluate the efficacy of three fixed doses of SSR125543 (20 mg daily, 50 mg daily, and 100 mg daily) compared to placebo in outpatients with major depressive disorder, as assessed by the change from baseline (Day -1) to Day 56 in the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) total score. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the tolerability and safety of SSR125543 in outpatients with major depressive disorder - To evaluate plasma concentrations of SSR125543
This study is carried out to assess whether dapagliflozin lowers blood glucose, body weight and blood pressure, when added to patients existing medications and how it compares with their usual treatment without added dapagliflozin. Safety data will be collected and analysed to confirm that treatment with dapagliflozin is safe and well tolerated in patients who have diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hypertension.
No head to head comparisons between exenatide once weekly and liraglutide have been performed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare exenatide once weekly to once-daily liraglutide with regard to HbA1c, body weight, subject-reported outcomes, and other clinical benefits. The study includes a 26-week treatment period and a safety follow-up visit 10 weeks after the final study drug dose.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of alogliptin combined with metformin, once daily (QD) or twice daily (BID), in participants with Type 2 Diabetes.
The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of AZD9668 compared with placebo in symptomatic COPD patients by assessing the effects on lung function and symptoms of COPD
Clinical study to examine the safety, tolerability and efficacy of long-term combination therapy of tamsulosin and solifenacin in the treatment of males with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with a substantial storage component.
Clinical study to examine the efficacy, safety and tolerability of combination therapy of tamsulosin hydrochloride and solifenacin succinate compared to monotherapy of tamsulosin hydrochloride in the treatment of males with LUTS associated with BPH with a substantial storage component.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel arm study will assess efficacy and safety and the effects of taspoglutide on cardiovascular events in patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease. Patients will be randomized to receive either taspoglutide subcutaneously (sc) 10mg weekly for 4 weeks followed by 20mg sc weekly, or weekly sc placebo, in addition to background anti-hyperglycemic medication and standard of care treatment for cardiovascular disease. Anticipated time on study treatment is up to 2 years. Target sample size is 2000 patients.
Kuvan® is a synthetic copy of a body's own substance called tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). BH4 is required by the body to use an amino acid called phenylalanine in order to build another substance called tyrosine. Kuvan® received marketed authorisation in Europe in December 2008 and is now available in several European countries for the treatment of Hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA). The primary objective is to assess the long-term safety in subjects treated with Kuvan®. Secondary objectives are to provide additional information regarding: - Safety in specific subject groups (elderly, pediatric, pregnant women and subjects with renal or hepatic insufficiency). - Growth and neurocognitive outcomes for subjects with hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA) who are receiving treatment with Kuvan®. - Progress and outcome of pregnancy for women with HPA who become pregnant while receiving treatment with Kuvan® (these women will be enrolled in a dedicated sub-registry). - Assessment of adherence to diet and to Kuvan®. - Assessment of long-term sensitivity to Kuvan®treatment.
The purpose of this trial is to investigate the potential benefits/risks regarding pretreatment with prasugrel in non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) participants with elevated troponin scheduled for coronary angiography/percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
