Stroke is one of the leading causes behind death and permanent disability in adults. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common clinical arrhythmia and its prevalence is steeply increasing with age. Atrial fibrillation is associated with a manifold increase in the risk for stroke. It is considered important to investigate the heart rhythm in stroke survivors without previously known AF, because detection of AF will prompt a change in antithrombotic treatment with subsequent lowering of the risk of recurrent stroke. There are so far very few studies on the prognostic impact of ECG investigations post stroke. Despite this knowledge gap, ECG investigation post stroke is given high priority in national and international guidelines. Considerable clinical resources are currently invested in these ECG investigations without knowledge of its utility. The investigators plan a nationwide, randomised, register-based study (RRCT) including patients aged at least 70 years receiving in-hospital care for stroke or TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Included patients will be randomised to standard investigation (1-2 days of ECG ) or extended ECG investigation (14 days of ECG performed at least twice). Patients diagnosed AF will be offered anticoagulation treatment. Long-term follow-up will be performed via swedish health care registers. The result of this trial will have major impact on the ECG screening recommendations for patients who have had stroke, a large group of patients with dismal prognosis.
The purpose of the study is to characterize the pharmacokinetics of meropenem and piperacillin in ICU-patients at the time of the first dose administration and to contrast that with the same measurements obtained in the same patient 2-3 days later during the course of ICU treatment.
This a Phase 3, prospective, open-label, multicenter study of [15-O]-H2O injection for PET imaging of subjects with suspected CAD. Approximately 182 evaluable participants with suspected CAD referred for testing will be included in the study at approximately 10 study sites in the United States and Europe. Approximately 215 participants will be enrolled to account for an estimated 15% drop-out rate. Screening assessments will occur prior to enrollment to confirm eligibility. All participants will receive two doses of [15-O]-H2O as part of a single PET imaging session (one dose at rest and one during pharmacological stress with adenosine). A safety follow-up phone call will occur 24 ± 8 hrs after completion of the [15-O]-H2O scan.
202 Diabetic foot ulcers will be cleaned with either Hypochlorous Acid, HClO or Polyhexamethylene biguanide, PHMB twice a week until healed or 24 weeks. Primary objective is to find out if cleaning DFU with HClO is more effective in obtaining complete healing than PHMB.

Despite this, little is known about these changes in patients requiring prolonged organ support and nutritional therapy. The overall aim of this study is to describe changes in metabolism over time in a large prospective cohort of patients requiring >10 days of ICU care. Our hypothesis is that there is a significant change in mean energy expenditure and respiratory quotient (RQ) between the early (day 1-3), intermediate (day 4-10) and late (>10 days) phase in ICU.
