NCT ID: NCT03328351 Completed - Clinical trials for Cervical Radiculopathy

Effect of Manual Therapy on Sensory Features in Patients With Cervical Radiculopathy

Start date: December 18, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background & Purpose: Cervical radiculopathy is a neurological disorder, which commonly results because of nerve compression. There are different types of physical therapy interventions that are used for cervical radiculopathy. The evidence of effectiveness of manual therapy in cervical radiculopathy is still limited. Short-term hypoalgesic effects after manual therapy was found in different musculoskeletal conditions. However, the effectiveness of manual therapy in patients with cervical radiculopathy hasn't been investigated yet. Therefore, the aim of study is to examine the short-term effect of manual therapy (mobilization) on the sensory features in patients with chronic cervical radiculopathy.

The Effect of the Kinesio Tape on the Muscle Power Performance of Elite Weightlifters

Start date: January 7, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is aimed to investigate the effect of the Kinesio Tape facilitation technique on the muscle power performance of elite weightlifters.

NCT ID: NCT03311906 Completed - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Evaluation of the Efficacy of 0.8% Hyaluronic Acid Gel

Start date: February 15, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

assess the clinical and laboratory effects of the local and sub gingival application of a 0.8% hyaluronic acid gel (GENGIGEL®) as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) in chronic moderate to severe periodontitis patients as indicated by expression of Human Beta Definsin-2 (HBD2) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF).

NCT ID: NCT03308006 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Knee Osteoarthritis Treatment With Adipose-derived Stem Cells: Phase II Clinical Trial

Start date: January 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

In 1990, the prevalence of osteoarthritis of the hip or knee was very low 3.5% in Saudi Arabia, it increased to 53.3% and 60.9% in male in female patients respectively in 2002. The existing management of OA is conservative and pharmacological management aiming to relief symptoms of osteoarthritis and improves joint function. Results of a Meta-Analysis showed that mesenchymal stem cell is effectiveness and safe to treat knee osteoarthritis. In 1990, the prevalence of osteoarthritis of the hip or knee was very low 3.5% in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and it increased to 53.3% and 60.9% in male in female patients respectively in 2002. Results of a Meta-Analysis showed that mesenchymal stem cell is effectiveness and safe to treat knee osteoarthritis. This study will be a single center phase II-one arm clinical trial. It will be conducted at KF SH&RC-Jeddah. 18 participants will be recruited from orthopedic clinics. Participate will be evaluated before inclusion in the study. Participants will be exposed to e abdominal liposuction procedure under local anesthesia for stem cells harvesting. Stem cells will be separated from fat cells in the adipose tissue then activated in Tissue Culture Lab at Research Center- Jeddah. The activated stem cells will be injected into the knee joint via 22G spinal needle. The intra-articular stem cells injections will be performed under Ultrasound guidance at the theater under spinal anesthesia. Each patient will receive 1.0× 108 stem cells in 3 mL of normal saline

NCT ID: NCT03295006 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

A TheraSphere® Advanced Dosimetry Retrospective Global Study in HCC

TARGET
Start date: October 31, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This retrospective, multinational, single-arm study will be conducted in at least 8 sites. An interim analysis will be conducted with data from 100 patients with up to 10 well defined HCC tumor(s) and with at least one tumor ≥3 cm. Normal tissue absorbed dose using pre-procedural 99mTc MAA SPECT or SPECT/CT imaging will be measured to allow the mean absorbed normal tissue dose corresponding to a ≤15% probability of CTCAE grade 3 or higher hyperbilirubinemia (in the absence of disease progression) to be calculated. Total bilirubin will be recorded and graded according to CTCAE version 4.02. All dose-related SAEs at 3 months follow-up will be followed until resolution, death or lost-to-follow-up. AEs related to disease progression will not be considered related to TheraSphere.

NCT ID: NCT03289273 Completed - Liver Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Observational Study to Evaluate, Under Real-world Practice Conditions, the Safety and Effectiveness of Regorafenib in Patients Diagnosed With Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma (uHCC)

Start date: September 13, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Observational study to evaluate, under real-world practice conditions, the safety and effectiveness of regorafenib in patients diagnosed with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC)

NCT ID: NCT03258411 Completed - Cross Bite Clinical Trials

Evaluation Of Different Rapid Orthodontic Expansion Devices

Start date: February 10, 2015
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Evaluating and comparing the short term effects of different palatal expanders on the amount of palatal expansion and buccal tipping of posterior teeth. Hypothesis: H0: There is no difference in the short term effects between the different palatal expanders. H1: There is a significant difference in the short term effects between the different palatal expanders.

NCT ID: NCT03227068 Completed - Clinical trials for Educational Activities

Parent Educational Discharge Support Strategies

Start date: December 29, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

After the initial hospitalization, parents of children newly diagnosed with cancer assume responsibility for assessing and managing their care; however, parents are often overwhelmed with information received throughout the hospitalization and are apprehensive about caring for their child at home. Parents want concise, focused information on how to care for their child after the hospital discharge. Two parent education discharge support strategies (PEDSS) were created to use at hospital discharge. PEDSS consists of a symptom management intervention and a support for the caregiver intervention. A cluster randomized control trial will assess the effectiveness and feasibility of the two different interventions.
