There are about 5161 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Norway. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In Norway, 100-120 children are born with CLP (1.9 per 1,000 live births) each year. Parents of infants with CLP need information and support, especially with feeding immediately after birth. These needs are often not met. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of systematic follow ups of parents with infants with CLP performed by a special trained nurse. Parental information needs, parental coping and stress and infant growth and feeding will be explored and compared to a control group receiving standard care. 26 parents (mothers and fathers) or more shall be included in each group according to specific criteria. The control should be examined first. Both groups will answer questionnaires 3 times during the child's first year.
Comparison of 2 doses of empagliflozin vs placebo in patients already using either an insulin regimen of multiple daily injections (MDI) or continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII). Randomisation to 3 treatments arms (equal assignment) following a screening period, an optimisation period and a run-in period. 52 week double-blind treatment period, and 3 week follow-up period.
Oxytocin (OT) is a small, naturally occurring peptide currently in clinical use to stimulate lactation in breastfeeding women. The intranasal administration of OT has recently attracted attention as a potential novel treatment in several psychiatric disorders in autism. However, given the anatomy of the nasal cavity, the current design of nasal sprays would be expected to provide an inadequate delivery of medication to the areas of the nasal cavity where direct transport into the brain via the olfactory nerve could potentially occur. OptiNose has developed an intranasal delivery device that provides improved reproducibility of nasal delivery, improved deposition to the upper posterior regions of the nasal cavity where the olfactory nerve innervates the nasal cavity. The primary objective of this study is to identify any differences between a single dose of 8 international units (IU) oxytocin, 24 IU oxytocin, and placebo delivered intranasally with the optimised OptiNose device in volunteers with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This will be measured in terms of performance on cognitive tests and physiological markers.
Study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of capmatinib as a single-agent treatment for subjects with advanced/metastatic (stage IIIB or IV) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who had wild-type epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR wt) (for exon 19 deletions and exon 21 L858R substitution mutations), anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-negative rearrangement, and mesenchymal epithelial transition (MET) mutations leading to exon 14 deletion (referred to as MET mutation hereafter) and/or MET amplification.
The purpose of the study is to compare the progression-free survival (PFS) of once-weekly carfilzomib dosing in combination with dexamethasone to twice-weekly carfilzomib dosing in combination with dexamethasone in adults with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma, previously treated with bortezomib and an immunomodulatory agent (IMiD).
The purpose of this study is to examine weather treatment with anthocyanins will affect lipid profile, markers of inflammation and oxidative stress in addition to antioxidative level in serum to the better in persons with increased risk of dementia. The purpose of this study is to examine weather treatment with anthocyanins will increase the score of relevant tests of cognitive function. The investigators will do an open pilot study where patients receive anthocyanin for 16 weeks. 34 patients are expected to be included. In addition we will include 20 healthy Controls.
Overdose with potential deadly outcome is a serious problem among opioid abusers, not least in Norway. To save lives, immediate treatment with a μ-opioid antidote such as naloxone is required. The purpose of this study is to explore the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of naloxone in healthy volunteers under opioid influence.
This is a multi-centre, open label, prospective, non-randomized phase I/II trial in 20 patients including a safety-run in phase I part comprising 6 patients. Trial subjects will receive repeated immunotherapies with autologous Dendritic Cells (DCs), presenting two leukemia-associated antigens.
The purpose of this "first-in-human" study of PDR001 was to characterize the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) and antitumor activity of PDR001 administered i.v. as a single agent to adult patients with solid tumors. By blocking the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, PDR001 inhibits the PD-1 immune checkpoint, resulting in activation of an antitumor immune response by activating effector T-cells and inhibiting regulatory T-cells.
Mental disorders is one of the most frequent causes of long-term sick leave and disability pensions in Norway, and there is a need for a comprehensive, coordinated response from health and social sectors at the country level to address the burden of mental disorders. The aim of this project is to investigate if a workplace intervention with the aim to increase coping of common mental health complaints and social support can reduce sick leave and improve health.
