NCT ID: NCT01431235 Completed - Clinical trials for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

CBT for Patients With Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Substance Use Disorders

Start date: August 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if cognitive behavioral therapy is effective in treating ADHD symptoms in patients with substance use disorders and comorbid ADHD.

NCT ID: NCT01430494 Completed - Clinical trials for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD)

Observational Study in Patients With Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease

OVERTURE
Start date: June 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To collect characteristics of patients with ADPKD across a broad population, over time to better understand disease progression (signs, symptoms and outcomes). Association with total kidney volume changes and other measures of disease progression will be determined in order to identify a population at increased risk for disease progression. The economic and quality life impact of ADPKD will be assessed. Subjects who terminated participation early from clinical trials with tolvaptan may also be followed.

NCT ID: NCT01430416 Completed - Uveal Melanoma Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of AEB071 in Metastatic Uveal Melanoma Patients

Start date: December 20, 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study has two parts, dose escalation and dose expansion. For dose escalation, the primary objective is to estimate the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of AEB071 in patients with uveal melanoma. For dose expansion, the primary objective is to characterize the safety and tolerability of the MTD of AEB071 in patients with uveal melanoma.

NCT ID: NCT01430234 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Pancreatitis

Enzyme Suppletion in Exocrine Pancreatic Dysfunction

SAPES
Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Treatment of exocrine insufficiency (EPI) consists of pancreatic enzyme replacement according to the fat intake. Prescribing a sufficient dose of pancreatic enzymes is mandatory for the treatment to be effective. In addition, consultation of a specialized dietician is pivotal to educate patients about the proper use of pancreatic enzymes. However, based on a recent prospective survey in the Netherlands amongst chronic pancreatitis patients, it seems that enzymes are underused and a dietician is seldom consulted. The aim of this study is to assess if there is a difference in efficacy of pancreatic enzymes in a self-dosage regimen after extensive patient-education in comparison to the standard treatment for patients with EPI.

NCT ID: NCT01429779 Recruiting - Liver Diseases Clinical Trials

The Orange-III Trial: Optimised Recovery With Movicol® Preoperatively Within an Enhanced Recovery Programme

Start date: July 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to accelerate recovery after liver surgery by enhancing intestinal passage through the preoperative use of Movicol. Hypothesis The use of Movicol® during one week prior to partial liver resection combined with the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS®) programme accelerates functional recovery by promoting early return of gastro-intestinal function, defined as the passage of stools and early oral intake.

NCT ID: NCT01429714 Completed - Clinical trials for Postthrombotic Syndrome

The Ideal Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT) Study

IDEAL
Start date: March 22, 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the Netherlands, 25.000 patients each year are diagnosed with Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT). Elastic compression stocking (ECS) therapy reduces the incidence of post thrombotic syndrome (PTS) following DVT from 50% without ECS to 20-30% after ECS therapy for two years. It is however unclear whether all patients benefit to the same extent from this therapy or what the optimal duration of ECS therapy for individual patients should be. ECS therapy is not only costly, inconvenient and demanding but sometimes also even debilitating. Substantial costs could be saved by tailoring therapy to individual needs and as a result the quality of life for individual patients can be expected to improve. This study aims to assess the costs and effects of tailoring the duration of ECS therapy after DVT to individual patients needs. ECS therapy with a standard duration of 24 months will be compared with tailored ECS therapy, following an initial therapeutic period of 6 months, in patients with acute proximal DVT. The primary outcome is the percentage of patients with PTS at two year follow-up. This is a multi-center, randomized, allocation concealed, single-blinded clinical trial.

NCT ID: NCT01429376 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Pulmonary Function, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Prevalence, and Systemic Inflammation in Chronic Heart Failure With or Without COPD

Start date: October 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the present study is: 1. To investigate pulmonary function abnormalities (restriction, obstruction, diffusion impairment, mixed pulmonary defects) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and to determine which of these pulmonary abnormalities prevail and to what extent. 2. To determine the prevalence, underdiagnosis, and overdiagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as determined by spirometry and according to Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) criteria in patients with CHF. 3. To investigate the presence of systemic inflammation, as measured by inflammatory parameters (leukocytes, platelets, high sensitivity CRP), in CHF patients with or without COPD.

NCT ID: NCT01429363 Terminated - Clinical trials for Lumbar Spine Disc Herniation

Targeted Disc Decompression (TDD) for Contained Herniated Lumbar Discs

TDD
Start date: August 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The prospective Clinical Series (CS) aims to prove the hypothesis that Targeted Disc Decompression (TDD) reduces the pain in patients suffering from radicular leg pain secondary to a contained focal disc protrusion (Lumboradicular Syndrome). Secondary objective will be to prove that the treatment Group will have less disability and better quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT01429194 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

The ACE Follow-up Study

Start date: April 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Articulating Circular Endoscopic (ACE) Stapler is an investigational system using endoscopic guidance to trans-orally place plications in the stomach in obese subjects to reduce volume and expansion of the fundus and greater curve to abate hunger as part of a supervised weight reduction program. The primary objective of this study is to perform an evaluation of the safety of the plication procedure. The secondary objective of this study is to evaluate the preliminary efficacy of the ACE Stapler for the treatment of obesity over a 24 month follow-up period.

NCT ID: NCT01429142 Completed - HIV Clinical Trials

AIMS Study: Improving HIV Treatment Adherence

AIMS
Start date: September 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objectives of the main study are to evaluate the effectiveness and the cost-effectiveness of a counseling intervention to support medication intake among patients treated for HIV. The aim is that through the availability of medication intake reports collected through electronic monitoring, more adherence problems can be identified and medical decision-making improves. A substudy focuses on the broader range of nursing care in HIV-treatment, examining the content of care delivered to support physical, mental, sexual and social well-being; whether the delivery of the AIMS intervention affects the quality of care on domains other than adherence; and whether the content of care on these various domains can be linked to patient well-being and satisfaction.
