There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Intensive care (IC) patients regularly get infections. Sometimes it is even the reason of admission to the intensive care unit. To treat these infections, we give medicines called antibiotics, such as β-lactams antibiotics. Every IC patient receives the same dose of β-lactams antibiotics, while we know this can lead to undertreatment in some IC patients. The BATMAN risk score was created to predict which IC patient is undertreated. This study aims to validate the BATMAN risk score so it can be used in clinical practice.
T-mult is an experimental study using low-frequency (1Hz) single-sesson rTMS to the DLPFC (versus sham rTMS) to explore the effect of virtual lesions on the brain network and cognition in 100 healthy adults (20-65 years old).
This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Stress reduction to reduce perceived stress in a highly stressed student population, while concurrently investigating neural mechanisms of the intervention. The investigators will perform a randomized, wait-list controlled trial assessing clinical and neurocognitive outcomes as well as measures of daily life stress reactivity.
PSMA-PET/CT response measurements after LHRH agonist and upfront enzalutamide therapy in men diagnosed with de novo metastasized hormonal sensitive prostate cancer.
This randomized controlled microtrial, not just focus on parental (and child) responsiveness but also on an underlying physiological mechanism hypothesized to contribute to heightened susceptibility to parenting interventions.
The purpose of this post-authorisation medical device study is to obtain real life data on the use of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) in patients with pleural mesothelioma in routine clinical care. Patients with pleural mesothelioma and clinical indication for TTFields treatment will be enrolled in the study after signing Informed consent to use their data and process it centrally for research purposes. The clinical indication for TTFields is one of the inclusion criteria and is defined prior to inclusion by the treating physician.
A combined prospective cohort study and retrospective analysis of previously collected data. Three different techniques for posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) are compared: CBT-PLIF, MI-PLIF and open PLIF. A total of 180 patients are included, who will be followed up to 6 weeks postoperatively.
Master protocol: The goal of this master clinical study is to test how well the study drug, brexucabtagene autoleucel, works in participants with rare B-cell malignancies: relapsed/refractory Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia (r/r WM) (Substudy A - no longer recruiting), relapsed/refractory Richter transformation (r/r RT) (Substudy B), relapsed/refractory Burkitt lymphoma (r/r BL) (Substudy C and relapsed/refractory hairy cell leukemia (r/r HCL) (Substudy D - no longer recruiting).
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is an inherited retinal degeneration caused by one of several mistakes in the genetic code. Such mistakes are called mutations. The mutations cause degeneration of rod photoreceptors which are responsible for vision in dim illumination resulting in night blindness. After rod photoreceptors are eliminated, gradual degeneration of cone photoreceptors occurs resulting in gradual constriction of side vision that eventually causes tunnel vision. Oxidative stress contributes to cone degeneration. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) reduces oxidative stress and in animal models of RP it slowed cone degeneration. In a phase I clinical trial in patients with RP, NAC taken by month for 6 months caused some small improvements in two different vision tests suggesting that long-term administration of NAC might slow cone degeneration in RP. NAC Attack is a clinical trial being conducted at many institutions in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe designed to determine if taking NAC for several years provides benefit in patients with RP.
We are doing this study to learn more about how tirzepatide may help fight chronic kidney disease in people with obesity with or without type 2 diabetes (T2D). The study will last about 56 weeks and include up to 12 visits.
