There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Outside the setting of well-designed prospective clinical studies, the current standard preoperative RT should be a conventionally 1.8-2 Gy fractionated regimen to a total dose of 50 Gy in 5-6 weeks. However, given the vast diversity of sarcoma subtypes, it is also unlikely to assume a uniform therapeutic management to be optimal for all sarcomas alike. Other than 2 Gy fraction sizes and/or 50 Gy total dose series have been investigated in the past and should be further exploited in the future, but the practical implementation in humans is hampered by the rarity of the disease. The current systemic treatment of sarcomas consists of both the older cytotoxic chemotherapies and the newer targeted therapies like tyrosine kinase inhibitors. But it is hard to predict which patients will respond to which specific systemic treatment. This leads to worse prognoses and unnecessary toxicity for sarcoma patients. Despite the fact that the number of sarcoma patients in current studies is too small with a mix of different subtypes, some subtypes show a better response than other subtypes. This platform may form the basis for preclinical translational investigations with radiotherapy and various systemic treatments.
This project is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial in the Netherlands. The aim of this study is to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of optimized 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) in ulcerative colitis patients. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) will be performed in order to optimize treatment outcomes and objective endoscopic endpoints will be used.
Mitochondrial Diseases are rare, progressive, multi-system, often-early fatal disorders affecting both children and adults. KH176 is a novel chemical entity currently under development for the treatment of inherited mitochondrial diseases, including MELAS (Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathy, Lactic acidosis, and Stroke-like episodes), MIDD (Maternally Inherited Diabetes and Deafness), Leigh's Disease and LHON (Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy). The current Proof of Concept study aims to explore the effects of treatment with KH176 for 4 weeks on clinical signs and symptoms and biomarkers of mitochondrial disease and to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of KH176 in patients with m.3242A>G related mitochondrial disease.
This is a Phase III, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, randomized, multicenter study designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of atezolizumab + cobimetinib + vemurafenib compared with placebo + cobimetinib + vemurafenib in patients with previously untreated BRAFv600 mutation-positive metastatic or unresectable locally advanced melanoma.
Airway disease, featuring intense inflammation, is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in cystic fibrosis (CF). Mechanisms of CF airway inflammation remain unclear, hampering development of better treatments.This time-sensitive ancillary study leverages a unique longitudinal cohort of CF infants, assessing the early phase of airway disease. Through the use of innovative cell and fluid based tools for in vivo profiling and in vitro testing of BALF samples, this translational effort will yield unprecedented insights into mechanisms of PMN dysfunction in CF, and assess new paths for early intervention.
The purpose of this active, observational, open-label, non-randomized, post-market surveillance study is to confirm that EDWARDS INTUITY Elite reduces cross clamp time (XCT) in MIS setting when compared to published data with a conventional valve within the MIS setting. The published dataset will used as a control group. Then to describe short term (30 days) and long term (6 months) clinical safety, to assess and compare hemodynamic data with EDWARDS INTUITY Elite to a conventional valve at discharge and at 6 months post AVR, to assess Quality of Life at baseline, and at 6 months post AVR to assess NYHA functional class at baseline, discharge, 1 month and at 6 months post AVR to assess Fitness for hospital discharge.
Inspire intends to conduct this registry to: 1) collect Inspire therapy clinical evidence in the clinical practice setting; 2) collect additional information on the effectiveness, use and safety in the commercial setting; and 3) engage physician customers to report the collective outcome within a group of properly trained programs that utilize Inspire therapy on a regular basis. In addition, a sub-study will be conducted under this Registry at a limited number of Registry centers and will include a cohort of Registry patients and a cohort of patients who have not received the Inspire therapy device due to denial of insurance coverage. The two sub-study cohorts' quality of life and AHI data will be compared.
LifeSeal™ Kit, surgical sealant designed for staple-line reinforcement that is applied over the anastomotic line to prevent bowel content leakage until full physiological function is restored. RATIONALE : Postoperative anastomotic leakage is one of the most devastating and feared complications in colorectal surgery. The risk of postoperative anastomotic leakage varies widely depending on the level of anastomosis while the risk is higher in low anastomosis. In order to best demonstrate the benefits of LifeSeal™ in providing staple line reinforcement and helping to reduce leaks, the study includes high risk anastomoses, defined as colorectal and coloanal anastomoses performed within 10 cm from the anal verge. STUDY DESIGN: This study is designed as a prospective, multi-center, multinational randomized, single-blind, double armed study PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of LifeSeal™ Kit as measured by the change in overall anastomotic leak rates in subjects undergoing low anterior resection with an anastomosis below 10 cm from the anal verge, over the first 17 weeks after surgery. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: The secondary objective of this study is to assess the incidence of post-operative leaks and additional benefits that could be related to the use of LifeSeal™ Kit such as reducing the severity and improving the outcome of a leak once it has occurred. In addition, the study will allow for collection and analysis of additional safety data and usability assessment of the device, medical resource utilization, and health related quality of life measures.
This is a 3-year, pharmacologically non-interventional study to evaluate OCT as an outcome measure in patients with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Approximately 350 RRMS patients, either untreated or treated with an approved MS disease-modifying therapy and approximately 70 reference subjects without ophthalmologic or neurologic disease are enrolled. No study medications are provided. Patients on disease-modifying therapy are treated according to the local prescribing information. For each MS patient and each reference subject, the study consists of Screening (up to 1 month), Baseline, and a 36-month longitudinal data collection phase. Eligibility will be confirmed during Screening.
To evaluate pregnancy and infant outcomes among females diagnosed with familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH), exposed to Repatha® during pregnancy. This includes follow-up of their infants to the age of 12 months
