NCT ID: NCT00929058 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Bevacizumab and Vasoconstriction

BVZ1
Start date: June 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Rationale: The introduction of angiogenesis inhibitors has remarkably improved treatment of patients with several types of cancer. One of the most common side effects of angiogenesis inhibitors is hypertension. In patients treated with bevacizumab hypertension had an overall incidence up to 32%. The etiology of hypertension caused by treatment with angiogenesis inhibitors is unclear. Objective: To study if arterial bevacizumab infusion causes acute vasoconstriction using plethysmography in healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT00928980 Completed - Clinical trials for Depressive Disorder, Major

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Antidepressant Medication in Recurrent Depression

Start date: May 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate the (cost)effectiveness of mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) compared to that of antidepressant medication, and its combination with regard to the prevention of relapse or recurrence in patients with recurrent depression.

NCT ID: NCT00928798 Completed - Clinical trials for Birt-Hogg-Dubé Syndrome

Topical Rapamycin for Fibrofolliculomas

Start date: January 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine whether topical application of rapamycin can lead to reduction in size and/or number of fibrofolliculomas in BHD patients and may prevent the growth of new ones. Secondary we evaluate rapamycin safety, formula acceptance and patient satisfaction.

NCT ID: NCT00928733 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effects of Ethanol on Intestinal Permeability and Integrity

Start date: September 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Alcohol consumption is a major health problem worldwide. It affects all systems of the body especially the gastrointestinal tract. Acute or chronic alcohol consumption has deleterious effects on the gastrointestinal mucosa vary from increased intestinal permeability, structural changes to sever destruction of the epithelial lining cells. Human data are still limited and most of the studies were performed in chronic alcohol abusers. The investigators hypothesize that moderate alcohol drinking also may increase small intestinal permeability and contribute to the subsequent disruption of the tight junction complex. This study may provide more insight into the effects of moderate alcohol drinking on the small intestinal permeability.

NCT ID: NCT00927251 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Model 4296 Left Ventricular (LV) Lead Study

4296
Start date: June 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed to show that a new lead, which paces the left bottom chamber (left ventricle) of the heart, is safe. Using a lead on the left side of the heart has been shown to potentially improve heart failure symptoms. The shape and size of this new lead may make it a good choice for patients or physicians.

NCT ID: NCT00924989 Completed - Clinical trials for Adrenocortical Carcinoma

A Study of OSI-906 in Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Adrenocortical Carcinoma

GALACCTIC
Start date: December 1, 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 3 study of single-agent OSI-906 in patients with locally advanced/metastatic Adrenocortical Carcinoma (ACC) who received at least 1 but no more than 2 prior drug regimens

NCT ID: NCT00924859 Completed - Clinical trials for Cerebral Venous Thrombosis

The Role of Factor XIII Activation Peptide and D-dimer Values for the Diagnosis of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT)

Start date: September 2009
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators aim to assess the overall accuracy of D-dimer values and FXIII activation peptide (FXIII-AP), using a newly developed ELISA test, to exclude CVT in patients with clinical suspicion of CVT.

NCT ID: NCT00924638 Completed - Clinical trials for Cryptogenic Ischemic Stroke

Study of Continuous Cardiac Monitoring to Assess Atrial Fibrillation After Cryptogenic Stroke

CRYSTAL-AF
Start date: June 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The 2006 American Heart Association / American Stroke Association Council on Stroke Guidelines for Prevention of Stroke in Patients With Ischemic Stroke or Transient Ischemic recommended that patients with cryptogenic stroke take antithrombotic drugs (i.e. aspirin) in order to prevent a second stroke. When a stroke patient is found to have atrial fibrillation (AF), the guidelines recommend oral anticoagulation due to its superior efficacy over aspirin for stroke prevention. Physicians can best optimize the use of medicines only if they can precisely and correctly diagnose a patient's AF. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the time to first AF by 6 months' continuous rhythm monitoring versus control treatment in subjects with a recent cryptogenic stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) without history of AF.

NCT ID: NCT00923091 Completed - Clinical trials for Essential Hypertension

Parallel-Group Comparison of Olmesartan (OLM), Amlodipine (AML) and Hydrochlorothiazid (HCTZ) in Hypertension

Start date: June 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is to determine the change in blood pressure from the administration of Olmesartan/Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide triple combinations compared to dual combinations with Olmesartan/Amlodipine.

NCT ID: NCT00922597 Completed - Hemophilia A Clinical Trials

Non-interventional Observation of Practical Implementation, Efficacy and Safety of Continuous Infusion With KOGENATE Bayer in Surgery

NO PEACKS
Start date: August 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The objective of this international post-marketing surveillance study is to collect data on the efficacy and safety of continuous infusion with KOGENATE Bayer in surgery.
