There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is conducted in Europe. The aim of this observational study is to observe and investigate the process of switching from premixed human insulin 30/70 (BHI 30) to biphasic insulin aspart 30/70 (BIAsp 30) in an outpatient setting.
The present study will provide additional efficacy and safety data for 0.5-mg ranibizumab using as needed (PRN) dosing over 24 months in patients with visual impairment due to macular edema secondary to Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO). Spectral domain high-definition optical coherence tomography (OCT) images will be analyzed to gain insights into predictive factors for disease progression and the possibility of reduced monitoring will be assessed in Year 2. The results of this open-label study will provide long-term safety and efficacy data to further guide recommendations on the use of ranibizumab in this indication.
The primary objective of this trial is to investigate the effect of 6 weeks treatment with tiotropium + olodaterol fixed dose combination inhalation solution on lung hyperinflation and exercise tolerance in patients with COPD.
The pharmacokinetics of caspofungin are expected to be different in ICU patients compared to non-ICU patients. The investigators will determine caspofungin concentrations in 20 ICU patients, who will get caspofungin as standard care. Full PK curves will be taken on day 3 and a limited PK curve on day 7, trough levels will be taken daily.
Treatment with a nucleoside analogue and subsequent viral decline has shown to partially restore immune hyporesponsiveness in chronic hepatitis B patients. Recent pilot studies investigating whether the effect of lowering viral load with nucleoside analogue therapy prior to the initiation of peginterferon results in higher sustained off-treatment responses showed contradictory findings. The aim of this study is to investigate sustained off-treatment response to peginterferon alfa-2b in chronic HBeAg-positive hepatitis B patients who are pretreated with nucleos(t)ide analogues, thereby lowering viral load
Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is described as being a successful procedure. These results are often derived from clinical general shoulder examinations, which are then classified as 'excellent', 'good', 'fair' or 'poor'. However, the cut-off points for these classifications vary and sometimes modified scores are used. Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is performed to improve quality of life. Therefore, disease specific health-related quality of life patient-administered questionnaires are needed. The WORC is a quality of life questionnaire designed for patients with disorders of the rotator cuff. The score is validated for rotator cuff disease, but not for rotator cuff repair specifically. The aim of this study is to investigate reliability, validity and responsiveness of WORC in patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
Objectives: This is an exploratory study, consisting of two parts. In part I dose escalation is performed and the primary objective is the safety of different doses of TLR-DC and Trimix DC. In part II Trimix DC vaccination will be compared with TLR-DC vaccination and the primary objective of this part is the immunological response, with toxicity and clinical efficacy being secondary objectives. These studies will provide important data on the safety and immunological effects of TLR-DC and Trimix DC. Study design: Part I of this study is an open label dose escalation study. Part II of this study is an open label randomized phase II study. Study population: Our study population consists of melanoma patients, with proven expression of melanoma associated tumor antigens gp100 and tyrosinase. Melanoma patients with regional lymph node metastasis in whom a radical lymph node dissection is performed within 2 months of inclusion in this study (further referred to as stage III) and melanoma patients with measurable distant metastases (further referred to as stage IV) will be included.
The investigators propose a multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial to study the effect of additive low-dose haloperidol prophylaxis on top of exciting care in a general population of older patients (age 70 years and over) acutely admitted to the hospital through the emergency department (ED) for general medicine and surgical specialties, and who are at-risk for developing in-hospital delirium on admission according to the VMS delirium risk questions (one or more positive answers out of three questions). The investigators hypothesize that this intervention will reduce the incidence of in-hospital delirium as well as duration and severity of delirium.
The concept of personalised nutrition emerged following the sequencing of the human genome in 2000. It was hoped that with the identification of gene nutrient interactions, an individual's response and susceptibility to particular diets would be better understood and therefore appropriate dietary modifications could be made to optimise health and lower disease risk. Then Food4Me aims to study the development of personalized nutrition at three levels and determine whether providing more personalised dietary advice leads to better compliance and health outcomes compared to standard population advice. The hypotheses to be tested in the Food4Me study are as follows: - Personalisation of dietary advice assists and/or motivates consumers to eat a healthier diet and follow a healthier lifestyle (in comparison with "impersonal" [conventional] dietary advice). - Personalisation based on individualised biochemical (phenotypic) and/or genetic information is more effective in assisting and/or motivating study participants to make, and to sustain, appropriate healthy changes to their usual (habitual) diet and lifestyle.
The study assessed the safety and efficacy of the fixed combination product QVA149 versus the component products QAB149 and NVA237, administered concurrently, in patients that have moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
