There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
No head to head comparisons between exenatide once weekly and liraglutide have been performed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare exenatide once weekly to once-daily liraglutide with regard to HbA1c, body weight, subject-reported outcomes, and other clinical benefits. The study includes a 26-week treatment period and a safety follow-up visit 10 weeks after the final study drug dose.
The present study is designed as a prospective observational study directed at evaluating the frequency, magnitude, quality and persistence (primary endpoint) of the anti-Tat immune response in HIV-1 infected asymptomatic individuals, and to prospectively evaluate the immunological, virological and clinical outcome of anti-Tat positive versus anti-Tat negative drug naŃ—ve subjects (secondary endpoint) in order to determine the impact of anti-Tat immunity on HIV disease progression as well as the potential use of anti-Tat immune response assessment for the clinical and therapeutic management of infected patients. This survey provided important information for the design, planning and conduction of future therapeutic vaccine trials based on the HIV-1 Tat protein in asymptomatic subjects.
The study will assess the pharmacokinetics (part A) safety, tolerability, and efficacy of prophylaxis treatment (2 to 3 times a week) (part B) with BAY81-8973 over a one year period (split into two six month treatment periods). The study will compare 2 different methods (assays) for measuring the amount of study drug, the chromogenic substrate assay per European Pharmacopeia (CS/EP) with the classical assay (Chromogenic Substrate Adjusted, CS/ADJ). During one six month period patients will receive the study drug where the dose has been measured using the" (CS/EP) and during the other six months period the dose will be measured based on the Chromogenic Substrate Adjusted assay CS/ADJ)
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether lenalidomide would reduce the number of red blood cell transfusions (RBC) needed in anemic (RBC transfusion-dependent) participants with low or intermediate-1 risk MDS without a deletion 5q chromosome abnormality. The study also investigated the safety of lenalidomide use in these participants. Two-thirds of the participants received oral lenalidomide and one-third of the participants received oral placebo.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether nilotinib is efficacious in the treatment of metastatic and/or inoperable melanoma harboring a c-Kit mutation.
This study provided/continued to provide oral treprostinil (UT-15C SR; treprostinil diethanolamine) to eligible subjects who participated in Studies TDE-PH-202, TDE-PH-203, TDE-PH-205, TDE-PH-301, TDE-PH-302, and TDE-PH-308. The study assessed the long term safety of oral treprostinil and the effect of continued treatment with oral treprostinil on exercise capacity after 1 year of treatment.
The aim of this Phase III study was to assess the efficacy of idebenone on pulmonary function, motor function, muscle strength and quality of life in patients with DMD. Furthermore, the safety and tolerability of idebenone was assessed.
The primary objectives of the study were: to evaluate the safety and tolerability of rFIXFc; to evaluate the efficacy of rFIXFc in all treatment arms; to evaluate the effectiveness of prophylaxis over on-demand (episodic) therapy by comparing the annualized number of bleeding episodes between participants receiving rFIXFc on each prevention (prophylaxis) regimen and participants receiving rFIXFc on an episodic regimen. The secondary objectives of the study were: to evaluate and assess the pharmacokinetic (PK) parameter estimates of rFIXFc and rFIX (BeneFIX®) at baseline in the Sequential PK subgroup as well as rFIXFc at Week 26 (±1 week); to evaluate participants' response to treatment; to evaluate rFIXFc consumption.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Propionyl-L-carnitine administration may ameliorate the illness in patients affected by mild to moderate ulcerative colitis already in treatment with one of the standard treatments (corticosteroids excluded).
The study will include patients with localized prostate cancer who experience erectile dysfunction following bilateral nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy. Patients will be randomly assigned to three treatment arms: Tadalafil 5 mg once a day, Tadalafil 20 mg on demand (prior to anticipated sexual activity), and placebo. Patients will stay on therapy for 9 months and after withdrawal of medication for 6 weeks, patients will be evaluated for recovery of unassisted erectile function (without medication). An open-label extension for three months will evaluate the responsiveness of all patients to Tadalafil 5 mg once a day. Further objectives are to evaluate the treatment satisfaction of the respective therapies.
