There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To date, the quest for ideal biological inductors for periodontal regeneration is still ongoing, especially when facing non-containing defect anatomies. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and radiographic performance of a bone graft combined with either enamel matrix derivatives or hyaluronic acid for periodontal regeneration of non-containing intrabony defects in terms of clinical attachment gain (primary outcome) and other secondary outcomes (probing pocket depth reduction, radiographic bone fill). Moreover, this study aims to compare early wound healing and patient-reported outcome measures.
This is a Phase III, randomised, open-label, 3-arm, multicentre, international study assessing the efficacy and safety of Dato-DXd with or without durvalumab compared with investigator's choice chemotherapy in combination with pembrolizumab in participants with PD-L1 positive locally recurrent inoperable or metastatic TNBC.
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the measurement precision and accuracy of the third-generation tympanic thermometer in relation to the measurement modalities considered gold standard. The evaluation of the instrument will be conducted in relation to the different calibration times of the tympanic thermometer, the level of re-training of healthcare personnel in the use of the instrument and the adult and paediatric population subjected to the measurement. Finally, the diagnostic capacity of the instrument in correctly identifying states of hypothermia and febrile elevations will be assessed.
The study will to test the levels of innovative biomarkers, such as miRNAs, in the blood of subjects underwent to angioplasty procedure according to standard clinical practice.
In critically ill patients, optimized strategies for red blood cells transfusion (RBCT) are still controversial. Most recent guidelines suggest that clinical practice in ICU setting should follow a restrictive approach to RBCT (i.e., hemoglonim level < 7.0 g/dL).In our previous study, oxygen extraction ratio (O2ER) has shown good performance as a marker to identify the correct timing for RBCT, potentially affecting 90-day mortality in non-bleeding, critically ill patients [11]. Moreover, our data suggested that an individualized strategy for RBCT may reduce the incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI), which is possibly related to a better delivery of oxygen and organ perfusion.
This study aims to identify, through the use of questionnaires, demographic, clinical and psychological factors that could better correlate with the satisfaction of psoriatic patients in systemic therapy with biological drugs for more than a year belonging to the Dermatology Clinics of the A. Gemelli-IRCCS University Hospital
Sarcopenia is a complex multifactorial syndrome which could be present in older age (primary sarcopenia) or earlier in chronic disease (secondary sarcopenia). Even if in patients with chronic liver disease an association among sarcopenia and poor clinical outcomes is well known, the data available about the prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with liver cirrhosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma are very variable according to the populations in object and, furthermore, few data are available regarding the use of muscular ultrasound to detect this condition. The aim of this study is to define the prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with liver cirrhosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma in follow-up at our center and the clinical outcomes associated with this condition, and to determine the reliability of muscular ultrasound to diagnose the condition of sarcopenia through a comparison with other validated techniques such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry.
To date, lung resection and lymphadenectomy remain the best curative option in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer. Moreover, cancer screening programs have led to a frequent diagnoses of indeterminate lung lesions, many of which require surgical biopsy for diagnosis and intervention. Additionally, pre-operative imaging assessment frequently underestimates lymph-node involvement. Finally, the increase in the utilization of minimally invasive procedures remains mandatory. The aim of our project is to verify if Cetuximab-IRDye800 could detect cancer nodules and lymph node metastases during minimally invasive thoracic surgery. A result favoring the use of Cetuximab-IRDye800 would permit the use of a minimally invasive approach to a more significant number of patients, which are presently operable only by a traditional "open" approach. Consequentially, it would lead to an improvement in surgical outcomes, a reduction of costs, and an enhanced patient quality of life. In addition, a result favoring Cetuximab-IRDye800 could consent to correctly remove mislead metastatic lymph nodes (i.e., unexpected lymph-nodes metastasis) and neoplastic localization unidentified at pre-operative diagnostic assessments. It would lead to more accurate cancer staging, and a tailored post-operative treatment. Finally, the investigators expect to validate using Cetuximab-IRDye800 as an optimal tracker that can be easily applied intraoperatively during minimally invasive surgical procedures.
The purpose of this study is to assess the patient's preference for nivolumab subcutaneous (SC) or nivolumab + relatlimab fixed-dose combination (FDC) SC and provide patient experience data by route of administration. This study will also generate safety data which will further characterize the safety profile of patients switching the route of administration from intravenous (IV) to SC.
Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a type of arthritis that happens when the body's immune system attacks healthy cells and tissues causing joint pain, stiffness, and swelling. Symptoms can get worse and go away for periods of time. PsA that begins before a patient's 16th birthday is called juvenile PsA (jPsA).This study will evaluate how safe risankizumab is for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis and to assess change in disease symptoms. Risankizumab is being studied for the treatment of jPsA and adalimumab is approved for the treatment of jPsA. Participants are placed in 1 of 2 groups, called treatment arms. Each group receives a different treatment. There is a 1 in 4 chance that participants will be assigned to receive adalimumab. Approximately 40 juvenile participants with jPsA will be enrolled at approximately 30 sites worldwide. Participants will receive risankizumab and adalimumab as subcutaneous (SC) injections based on body weight. At the start of Period 1, participants are randomized to receive risankizumab or adalimumab for 24 weeks. Participants who respond to the study treatment received in Period 1, will continue to receive the same treatment in Period 2 for another 100 weeks. Those with worsening jPsA symptoms in Period 2 will be withdrawn from the study. Participants who receive adalimumab are followed for safety for 70 days after the last study treatment. Participants who receive risankizumab are followed for 140 days after the last study treatment. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care (due to study procedures). Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
