Radiation dermatitis (RD) is one of the most common side effects of Radiation therapy (RT) and 95% of patients receiving RT may experience some form of radiation dermatitis. A wide variety of topical, oral, and intravenous agents are used to prevent/treat Radiation dermatitis but currently there is no gold standard in the prevention and management of this condition and no treatment can be explicitly recommended. RadiaAce Gel is a wound dressing Hydrogel (Acemannan Hydrogel) for the management of RD which provides optimal moist wound environment necessary to the healing process. Based on its composition as well as the supporting data on safety and performance of the functional ingredient Acemannan in wound healing, RadiaAce may well be suited to complement the prevention and therapy of radiation dermatitis. The primary aim of the study is to evaluate the safety and performance of RadiaAce as compare to Biafine in reducing the proportion of breast cancer patients that experience grade 2 or higher RD as measured by the RTOG scoring system
The Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) is a longitudinal, observational, multi-center natural history study to assess progression of clinical features, digital outcomes, and imaging, biologic and genetic markers of Parkinson's disease (PD) progression in study participants with manifest PD, prodromal PD, and healthy controls. The overall goal of PPMI is to identify markers of disease progression for use in clinical trials of therapies to reduce progression of PD disability.
This is a multi-center study comparing clinical outcomes in patients with COVID-19 in subjects hospitalized at Hadassah and other hospitals for PCR or serology confirmed COVID-19 and compare the outcomes to the presence of different degrees of a cytokine storm. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of fremanezumab as compared to placebo for the preventive treatment of chronic migraine (CM). Secondary objectives are to further demonstrate the efficacy of Fremanezumab as compared to placebo for the preventive treatment of CM, to evaluate the safety and tolerability of Fremanezumab in the preventive treatment of CM and to evaluate the immunogenicity of Fremanezumab and the impact of antidrug antibodies (ADAs) on clinical outcomes in participants exposed to Fremanezumab The total duration of the study is planned to be 75 months.
The aim of this study is to provide darolutamide treatment to patients who participated in a previous study with darolutamide supported by Bayer and the treating doctor considers that the continuation of the treatment with darolutamide to be beneficial. Patients will be carried over from the previous studies and continue in this study with darolutamide treatment on the same dosage. They will also return to the study centers for doctor's visits as often as they did in the previous study.
Perineal pain after delivery is common and is caused by local bruising or episiotomy. The pain may last for several days or months. Thus, several analgesic methods are offered. Topical magnesium sulfate 33% solution is a common treatment for perineal pain, wound treatment and alleviation of swelling. Yet, the efficacy of this treatment was not tested sufficiently in a clinical trials. In the present study we will compare the efficacy of topical magnesium sulfate versus cold water for perineal pain and improved perineal healing after delivery. Women after vaginal delivery (spontaneous or operative) with pain score of 3 in 0-10 numeric rating scale (NRS) will randomly be allocated to receive either pad with cold magnesium sulfate 33% solution or cold water. Pain score and healing parameters will be assessed at baseline, after one day of treatment and after two days of treatment.
Findings regarding the presence of xanthine oxidase and uric acid in different blood locations is important in preeclamptic women. We aim to detecting Xanthine oxidase and uric acid levels in both umbilical cord artery and vein as well as maternal blood (3 "locations") in pregnant women with and without diagnosis of preeclampsia. The study population will be divided into groups matching the three "locations" in order to describe and compare outcome levels.
Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) has been proven to be an accurate and efficient tool in thyroid nodule evaluation. Thyroid nodule aspiration is performed by the use of either two techniques; the short axis approach by which only the tip of the needle is observed, or the long axis approach by which the entire needle is observed. Controversial remains of which approach produces better diagnostic adequacy and less non-diagnostic (Bethesda category I) results.
