There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Composite resins are presently among the most popular esthetic restorative materials in dentistry. These materials offer excellent esthetic appearance, allow for conservative cavity preparation and are now becoming widely accepted for clinical use in primary molars 1-23. Despite the improvement of their properties, achieved with better materials and incremental placing techniques, composite resin restorations appear to have still several drawbacks: although similar to amalgam in short terms studies, they have a high long term failure rate, mainly due to discoloration, loss of retention and secondary caries3,11,19, are time-consuming and technique sensitive, lack anti-cariogenic potential and can be amenable to secondary caries at the cervical dentin margins 1, 2. Continued interest in providing advance in restorative esthetic materials led to the development of new generations of composites. Among the newest material developed is the use of minute amount of nanoparticles which convert composites to possess permanent antibacterial properties. It is of great interest to observe the clinical behavior of this new material when utilized in clinical practice. Thus the aims of the present in-vivo study are: 1. To evaluate the clinical and radiographic performance of the New Restorative System when placed with adhesive systems in class II restorations of primary molars. 2. To assess, by SEM, the micromorphology of the cervical, buccal and lingual margins of the proximal surfaces of the restored teeth retrieved after exfoliation or extraction. 3. To asses, by means of polarized light microscopy, the integrity of the cervical margins of the same retrieved teeth.
Acetaminophen is the most commonly used drug in children. Inhibition of COX-3 in the brain has been suggested as the primary central mechanism by which acetaminophen decrease pain and possibly fever. However there is very limited data about acetaminophen concentrations in the brain and no such data is available for newborns. The objective of the current study is to describe concentrations of acetaminophen in the fluid around the brain of infants after administration of acetaminophen.
Fever is one of the most common symptoms in pediatrics and one of the most common reasons for visits in pediatricians' office and pediatric emergency departments. Many parents consider fever to be the most terrifying symptom. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are both effective and safe treatments for febrile children. In order to achieve better temperature control and to avoid toxicity it has been suggested to treat febrile children with alternating doses of acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Surveys in the USA and Spain found that this practice is very common. However, The safety and efficacy of such practice was never described. Hypothesis: Children who are still febrile after being treated with acetaminophen or ibuprofen will have greater temperature decrement if treated with another drug (acetaminophen for those treated with ibuprofen and ibuprofen for those treated with acetaminophen) than if treated with placebo.
Organophosphate (OP) compounds are a major threat as chemical warfare agents or in terrorist act. OPs are also the active ingredient of many insecticides. Ingestion of insecticides is a common cause of death among people who commit suicide in developing countries. OPs poisoning also frequently occurs after accidental exposure to agricultural OPs and in children as a result of unintentional ingestion. The use of competitive inhibitors of acetylcholine other than atropine for patient with organophosphate (OP) poisoning is controversial. Because scopolamines' ability to cross the blood brain barrier is better than atropine, it has been suggested that scopolamine should be used OP poisoned patients who have central nervous system (CNS) manifestations. However there is controversy regarding its potential benefit in the treatment of organophosphate poisoning in humans. To the best of our knowledge there are no randomised controlled studies on the use of scopolamine in humans. This prospective randomised controlled study is aimed to determine whether adding scopolamine to the standard treatment of atropine and oximes in patients with CNS symptoms of OP poisoning improve the outcome.
CT of the abdomen is a very common examination performed for various indications. One of the common findings is vascular calcifications including calcifications of the renal arteries.Calcifications in the carotid arteries and coronary arteries are good predictor for obstructive atherosclerotic disease.Stenosis of the renal arteries can cause symptomatic or asymptomatic hypertension with subsequent clinical sequelae. Therefore early diagnosis of this condition is imperative. The goal of our study is to investigate the correlation between incidental calcifications of the renal arteries in CT examinations and the presence of actual stenosis of these vessels in patients with and without hypertension.
Radiation induced accelerated atherosclerosis is a well known entity that occurs in different regions, according to the therapy delivered. It is usually begins to be clinically evident several years after the radiation incident, as there is sufficient functional reserve to these vessels. Our proposal is aimed to better characterize this side effect. For that purpose, we have chosen to study women who received radiation to the breast, in which part of the carotid in the irradiated side was in the high energy radiation field. We will use Intima Media Thickening ultrasound to study the pattern of atherosclerosis plaque formation in radiated carotid arteries as compared to non-irradiated carotid arteries in women who are receiving radiation therapy for breast cancer.
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine whether the combination of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) plus a DAVANAT (carbohydrate polymer) along with Avastin and Leucovorin (LV) is beneficial in treating colorectal cancer in patients unable to tolerate intensive chemotherapy.
This study compares the safety of the tobramycin solution for inhalation with the tobramycin dry powder formulation, used with a simple inhaler
The main objective of the study is to assess the pharmacokinetics of OPTIVATE® after a single dose of 80 IU/kg VWF:RCo. The secondary objectives of the study are to assess efficacy and safety of OPTIVATE® in long-term use over at least 12 months.
The primary purpose of this protocol is to assess the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of MGA031 when administered according to 3 different MGA031 dosing regimens in children and adults with recent-onset (diagnosis within past 12 weeks) type 1 diabetes mellitus. All regimens will be administered as an addition to insulin and other standard of care treatments. Efficacy will be defined primarily by the capacity of MGA031 to markedly reduce typical insulin requirements while maintaining relatively normal blood sugar levels. Other studies involving the study drug use the name hOKT3γ1 (Ala-Ala). MGA031, a humanized monoclonal antibody, is the name used for hOKT3γ1 (Ala-Ala) that is produced by MacroGenics, Inc. The United States Adopted Name (USAN) for MGA031 is teplizumab.
