There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Recently published studies demonstrated very high event free survival for patients with a normal interim PET/CT and a high hazard ratio for progression of an interim positive (pathological)study. These findings strongly support the integration of interim PET as a decision point for adjustment of chemotherapy. This study use the minimal therapy considered safe according to the predefined risk factors for patients with interim negative PET. Those with pathologic interim study considered as higher risk patients will have dose escalation of therapy.remission rate ,event free survival and overall survival will be evaluated.
The aim of the study is to determine the penetration levels of ertapenem into bone tissues in patients with Diabetes Mellitus (D.M) or Peripheral Vascular Diseases (P.V.D) undergoing amputation, and to correlate theme to the concentration of the drug in blood and other soft tissues
Ticagrelor is a new, reversible binding, anti-platelet medication. Anti-platelet medications work to prevent the formation of blood clots. Ticagrelor is being developed as a treatment for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). ACS is a term that is used to describe both heart attacks in progress or the imminent threat of a heart attack. ACS is usually caused by the formation of a blood clot in an artery that partially or totally blocks the blood supply to a portion of the heart muscle. Ticagrelor will be compared with clopidogrel to determine which drug, when either is used in conjunction with aspirin, is better at reducing deaths from vascular causes, future heart attacks and/or strokes in patients with ACS.
The aim of this study is to compare between body-temperature to room-temperature contrast media used during hysterosalpingography. We hypothesize that warmed medium will reduce pain associated with the procedure.
Gaucher disease is a rare lysosomal storage disorder caused by the deficiency of the enzyme glucocerebrosidase (GCB). Due to the deficiency of functional GCB, glucocerebroside accumulates within macrophages leading to cellular engorgement, organomegaly, and organ system dysfunction. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long term safety of enzyme replacement therapy with DRX008A (VPRIV®, GA-GCB; velaglucerase alfa) in patients with type 1 Gaucher disease.
The aim of this study is to investigate the inflammatory response in children with this disorder.
BUILD 3 is a prospective, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel group, placebo-controlled, event-driven, group sequential, phase III superiority study. The primary objective is to demonstrate that bosentan delays disease worsening or death in patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
This is a randomized (1:1), open-label, multicenter, active-controlled study in patients with previously treated CD23+ and CD20+ relapsed CLL. Patients will receive treatment with either lumiliximab in combination with FCR or FCR alone.
Pneumonia in general and CAP in particular is considered as one of the most common bacterial infections, associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality and is highly significant economically since all respiratory infections, and pneumonia especially, cause about 80% of antimicrobials use in the community. The high frequency of respiratory infections and the excessive use of antimicrobials are major contributors to the development of pathogens resistant to antimicrobials. In addition, in CAP almost all patients are treated empirically, without identification of causing pathogen. Aim of study: To identify common pathogens causing CAP in hospitalized patients in north Israel.
The Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common of all congenital cardiac malformations. By modifying the Nit-Occlud® PDA Device the Nit-Occlud® Lê VSD Spiral System was designed. as a percutaneous, transcatheter device for occlusion of (peri)membranous and muscular ventricular septum defects (VSD) with a spiral coil. In this clinical investigation feasibility, safety and performance of the new cardiac occluder will be evaluated in accordance with European and US regulations. The study data will be compared to performance criteria for VSD, which are deduced analogue to the published specific Objective Performance Criteria (OPCs) for PDAs. The first part of the study has been performed in three clinical centres in Germany. For the second part in April 2009 four additional clinical centres in Germany, Israel, Italy and Spain were included.
