Limping is a common complaint among children presenting in the Pediatric ED the evaluation of a limp among infants and toddlers is challenging doe to the lack of specific history and the difficulty in locating the pain - therefore hip sonography is frequently used in the clinical evaluation of these children. Sonographic examination for the diagnosis of hip effusion is routinely performed by the radiologist, however, since the integration of Point of care Ultrasound (POCUS) as part of the clinical evaluation of children in the ED in many application - Hip pocus is frequently performed by pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians. The existing data on hip POCUS is scarce and comprised of small uncontrolled studies. We aimed to examine the specificity and sensitivity of hip Pocus performed by pediatric emergency physicians by comparing it to the scan performed by the radiologist. the primary outcome measurement is the ability of the POCUS exam to identify or rule out the existence of hip effusion as demonstrated in the formal radiological Ultrasound scan.
To compare short- and long-term outcomes of women following episiotomy during the second stage of labor, following marking of episiotomy location during the first stage of labor with those of women who underwent episiotomy without marking.
This study will assess whether switching participants who have benefitted from mepolizumab or benralizumab to GSK3511294 (Depemokimab) is non-inferior to maintaining current treatment on the annualized rate of clinically significant exacerbations in participants with severe asthma with an eosinophilic phenotype. Throughout the study, all participants will continue their non-biologic Baseline standard of care (SoC) asthma treatment.
Zoonosis including brucellosis and rickettsial infections are a major contributor to infectious morbidity in southern Israel. The Bedouins, a nomadic tribal population residing in the Negev area are notably exposed to domesticated animals including livestock, camels and companion animals, and their living conditions, especially with respect to poor sanitation in different Bedouin communities also expose them to rodents and disease vectors such as insects and arthropods. In this study, we aim to identify Bedouin patients arriving at the Soroka University Medical Center, a tertiary hospital un the Negev, with undifferentiated fever, suspected as a zoonosis. We intend to use molecular methods to better diagnose the infectious agent using whole blood and serum samples, and when available other tissues or body fluid, and use next generation sequencing technology to deeply examine bacterial features such as virulence factors, and host pathogen interactions.
The purpose of this Phase 3 study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Luspatercept compared with placebo in subjects with myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN)-associated Myelofibrosis (MF) and anemia on concomitant Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) inhibitor therapy and who require red blood cell count (RBC) transfusions. The study is divided into Screening Period, a Treatment Phase (consisting of a Blinded Core Treatment Period, a Day 169 Response Assessment, a Blinded Extension Treatment Period, and an Open-label Extension Treatment Period), and a Posttreatment Follow-up Period. Following the Day 169 Response Assessment, subjects who did not show clinical benefit will have the option to unblind. Subjects who were on placebo during the Blinded Core Treatment Period will have the opportunity to crossover into the Open-Label Extension Treatment Period and receive Luspatercept.
The study will enroll advanced cancer patients with unresectable or metastatic disease who are refractory to or are not candidates for standard approved therapy. The study will be comprised of two parts - a dose escalation phase (Part 1) and a dose optimization/expansion phase (Part 2). Part 1 is comprised of three sub-parts: SAR444881 administered alone (Sub-Part 1A), SAR444881 administered in combination with pembrolizumab (Sub-Part 1B), and SAR444881 administered in combination with cetuximab (Sub-Part 1C). Part 2 is composed of two sub-parts: a dose optimization part where up to two doses of SAR444881 per indication are administered in combination with pembrolizumab, cetuximab, and/or carboplatin and pemetrexed (Sub-Part 2A); and a dose expansion part where SAR444881 is administered alone (Sub-Part 2B). In Sub-Part 2A, a two-stage design will be implemented to conduct dose optimization for each indication with combination therapy- Stage 1 (Preliminary Assessment) and Stage 2 (Randomization). Study is non-randomized except Stage 2 of Sub-Part 2A which will use randomization.
Our objectives in this qualitative exploratory study: - To explore the perspectives and preferences of women with preeclampsia and/or GDM history related to a potential health promotion program - To identify perception of support services post-birth related to health behaviors - To identify perception of personal and children's risk of future health issues related to GDM and preeclampsia history - To explore effective intervention strategies and approaches for potential intervention - To identify barriers and facilitators to adoption and adherence to healthy lifestyles changes in women with preeclampsia and/or GDM history - Based on our results, literature review and counselling by a panel of health promotion experts, the investigators will design protocol and guidelines for a future interventional health promotion programs Methods: Study Design The proposed study consists of a qualitative exploratory study in different populations of women who underwent gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. Health care providers who provide care to women with gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia will be interviewed to explore effective intervention strategies.
This is a prospective cohort study, planned to study the effects of pedometers (digital step counters) on patient mobility following gynecology and gynecology oncology surgeries. The investigators plan to study the effect of personalized repeated feedback approach based on pedometer results in patients following gynecology and gynecology oncology surgeries.
