There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Uveal melanoma is the most common primary intraocular tumor in adults. The local treatment is effective, but patients still die of metastatic disease. It has been shown that early diagnosis of a few isolated metastases can result in a clean surgical excision of the metastases and an extension of the expected survival from 7-12 months to over 10 years on some patients. Many serum biomarkers are employed in Oncology. It makes sense to try the relevant ones in the diagnosis of metastatic uveal melanoma. The investigators hypothesis is that a soluble serum biomarker level changes upon development of metastatic disease either by secretion by the tumor cells themselves or by their environment. Detection of changes in biomarker level may lead to the diagnosis of metastases before they can be detected by imaging modalities, thus allowing for early treatment of the metastases and a better chance of success.
Primary Objective: - To evaluate the efficacy of daily oral doses of 400 mg or 500 mg of SAR302503 (Investigational Medicinal Product, IMP) compared to placebo in the reduction of spleen volume as determined by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (or computed tomography scan in patients with contraindications for MRI). Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the effect on Myelofibrosis (MF)-associated symptoms (key MF symptoms) as measured by the modified Myelofibrosis Symptom Assessment Form (MFSAF) diary. - To evaluate the Overall Survival of patients treated with either 400 mg/day or 500 mg/day of IMP as compared to placebo. - To evaluate the Progression Free Survival of patients treated with either 400 mg/day or 500 mg/day of IMP as compared to placebo. - To evaluate the durability of splenic response. - To evaluate the safety of IMP.
This is a multicenter, international, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, Phase II trial. Participants with advanced breast cancer (ABC) or Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) who have experienced recurrence or progression of their disease while receiving aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy or who have relapsed within 6 months after completing adjuvant AI therapy will be enrolled in Part I of this study. Participants with ABC or MBC who have received prior AI therapy and who have PIK3CA-mutant tumors will be enrolled in Part II of this study. Part I of the study will assess the effect of the addition of GDC-0941 to fulvestrant (Arm A) and of GDC-0980 to fulvestrant (Arm B) on progression free survival (PFS) compared with fulvestrant + placebo (Arm C). Part II of the study will examine the safety and tolerability and to estimate the effect of GDC-0941 in combination with fulvestrant (Arm D) on PFS versus fulvestrant + placebo (Arm E) in participants who received prior treatment with an AI and whose tumors contain a PIK3CA mutation.
HBV vaccination is of paramount importance among HIV positive persons due to an increased risk of infection and disease progression. The most widely used ENGERIX B vaccine reaches a lower rate of vaccination (20-70%) among HIV positive vaccinees (compared to over 90% in the normal population). Sci-B-Vac is novel vaccine containing 3 antigens and is therefore more immunogenic (as opposed to one in ENGERIX B). Its use has been associated with higher and more rapid vaccination rates. Therefore, it has a theoretical advantage in HIV positive individuals.
Specific proteins and other signaling molecules are increased and decreased following nerve injury. Some of these are important in producing pain or explaining why pain persists after traumatic nerve injuries or in disease states such as diabetes. In this study, the investigators hypothesize that it is possible to detect changes in specific signaling molecules and that these will provide insights into novel treatment strategies. The patients to be included are those who are undergoing the removal of tissue during surgery. The tissues that would otherwise be discarded will be included in the study as appropriate.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of MediTate Temporary Implantable Nitinol Device (TIND) used to alleviate symptoms of Bladder Outlet Obstruction (BOO) secondary to Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH).The TIND is inserted in the bladder neck and prostatic urethra under local anesthesia for few days and taken out some 5 days later in the doctors office.
Epilepsy is a syndrome of episodic brain dysfunction characterized by recurrent seemingly unpredictable spontaneous seizures. The occurrence of the seizure in patients without any forewarning is the most debilitating aspect of the disease. The Epicall system is intended for early detection of seizure related life threatening events by monitoring per-seizures biomarkers. The system is based on a sticker placed on the side of the face. The external sticker incorporates EOG (electrooculograph electrode) and PPG (photoplethysmograph electrode) sensors for continuous monitoring of: 1. Heart Rate (base line, increase, decrease, asystole). 2. Extra ocular eye movement (blinking, eye deviation, roving eye movements).
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the presence of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder places parents at increased risk for divorce.
The purpose of this study is: - To compare blood sugar control on LY2605541 with insulin glargine after 52 weeks of treatment. - To compare the rate of night time low blood sugar episodes on LY2605541 with insulin glargine during 52 weeks of treatment. - To compare the number of participants on LY2605541 reaching blood sugar targets without low blood sugar episodes at night to those taking insulin glargine after 52 weeks of treatment. - To compare the rate of low blood sugar episodes on LY2605541 with insulin glargine after 52 weeks of treatment
The study is a prospective, trial to test the safety and feasibility of injecting autologous, isolated, sterile centrifuged NBMC, and Ignite® DBM in the treatment of high risk non union/delayed fractures. Another objective is to turn this procedure to a standard care protocol in our department .
