There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a Phase 3b, multicenter, international study conducted in 2 parts. Upon completion of the placebo-controlled period (Part 1), participants will have the option of enrolling in a 2-year open-label extension (Part 2). Part 1: The primary objective of the study is to investigate whether treatment with natalizumab slows the accumulation of disability not related to relapses in participants with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). The secondary objectives of Part 1 of this study are to determine the proportion of participants with consistent improvement in Timed 25-Foot Walk (T25FW), the change in participant-reported ambulatory status as measured by the 12-item MS Walking Scale (MSWS-12), the change in manual ability based on the ABILHAND Questionnaire, the impact of natalizumab on participant-reported quality of life using the Multiple Sclerosis Impact Scale-29 Physical (MSIS-29 Physical), the change in whole brain volume between the end of study and Week 24 using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the proportion of participants experiencing progression of disability as measured by individual physical Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) system scores. Part 2: The primary objective of Part 2 of the study is to evaluate the safety profile of natalizumab in participants with SPMS. The secondary objectives of Part 2 of the study are to investigate long-term disability (based on clinical or patient-reported assessments) in participants with SPMS receiving natalizumab treatment for approximately 4 years and to assess change in brain volume and T2 lesion volume.
This is a multicenter, open label, randomized, phase 2b study, designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of patients with locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma following intratumoral administration of BC-819 and intravenously administered gemcitabine. Intratumoral injections of BC-819 will be performed using endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Primary Objective: To assess the effect of intratumoral endoscopic ultrasound injection of BC-819 administered with intravenous gemcitabine on progression-free survival. Secondary Objectives: To compare the effects of intratumoral injection of BC-819 administered in combination with intravenous gemcitabine vs. intravenous gemcitabine alone on: Overall survival, Response rate, Resectability of the target tumor lesion, Quality of life, Safety, Serological Tumor Marker: CA 19-9, Duration of response, Failure-free survival
The aim of the study is to delineate and compare the changes in coupled mechanical properties of left ventricle and arterial vascular bed caused by two popular anesthetic protocols commonly used in cardiac surgery (intravenous, based on the infusion of propofol, versus inhalational, based on isoflurane) on different stages of the surgery.
Post stroke patients often suffer from decrease in strength, loss of balance and gait asymmetry. Accordingly, these patients are at high risk for falls and fall-related injury. The presence of spastic or retracted muscles, e.g. the ankle plantar flexors or the quadriceps in combination with hamstrings weakness, causes knee hyperextension, which increases the stance phase duration and makes it difficult to achieve symmetrical gait. Additionally, this gait disorder can be painful as a result of stress to the ligaments and tendons at the posterior aspect of the knee. The Genu Neurexa orthosis is designed to stabilize the knee, enable balance control and prevent hyperextension. In order to assess the effect of the orthosis on the gait and balance characteristics of stroke patients the investigators will conduct subjective patient's satisfactory questionnaire, complete physical and functional evaluation and gait analysis, as well as dynamic electromyography (EMG) muscle activation patterns. These examinations will be performed 3 times: at the beginning of the trial, after one month and after two months. The trial design is explained in the following paragraph. The investigators hypothesize that the gait pattern will be improved while using the knee orthosis,as will be expressed by smaller base width and faster walking velocity etc.
The purpose of this study is to examine the safety and effectiveness of USL261 for the outpatient treatment of seizure clusters.
Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by abnormalities in speech and communication, impaired social functioning, and repetitive behaviors and interests. The term "Autism spectrum disorders" or ASD is often used to include autistic disorder, Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). Epidemiological research suggests that ASDs affect at least 60 per 10,000 youth, with estimates as high as 120 per 10,000. Severity of autistic features is not easily defined and the use of different diagnostic tools compounds the ability to lay a clear cut definition. It is, though, generally accepted that children with autism and normal IQ (>70) are "high functioning" regardless of the severity of their autistic features. The investigators will use the terms "autism" and "ASD" interchangeably, and the term "low functioning autism" will be used to describe those children with autism who have, or are presumed to have, IQ<70. The pathophysiology of autism has been studied extensively in the last decade. Abnormal neuronal connectivity has been implicated in a growing body of research. In addition, areas of over and/or under neuronal activation have been detected on functional MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive technique that allows to affect brain activity. The pulses are administered by passing high currents through an electromagnetic coil placed adjacent to a patient's scalp. The pulses induce an electric field in the underlying brain tissue. When the induced field is above a certain threshold, and is directed in an appropriate orientation relative to the brain's neuronal pathways, localized axonal depolarizations are produced, thus activating the neurons in the relevant brain structure. rTMS has been studied in individuals with high functioning autism. rTMS treatment was found to have an electrophysiological effect and to reduce repetitive behaviors and improved social functioning. In the context of existing pilot data suggesting effect of rTMS treatment in individuals with high functioning autism, the investigators propose a pilot study to assess the efficacy of rTMS in children and adolescents with low functioning autism.
This is a Phase IIb/III randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to compare the efficacy and safety of first-line therapy combined with TG4010 or placebo in stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). TG4010 is a suspension of recombinant Modified Vaccinia virus strain Ankara (MVA strain) carrying coding sequences for human MUC1 antigen and human interleukin-2 (IL2). TG4010 has been developed for use as an immunotherapy in cancer patients whose tumors express the MUC1 antigen. TG4010 is intended to induce a MUC1-specific cellular immune response and to produce a non-specific activation of several components of the immune system.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate feasibility of enhancing colon cleansing.
This is a non-invasive study using a standard doppler echocardiographic transducer which records signals emanating from the lungs (TPD). These signals are caused by pulsation of blood vessels in the lung tissue. The innovations in this study are: 1. The software processing of the reflected ultra-sound waves from the lung rendering a reproducible, clear and strong signal in sync with the cardiac cycle, 2. The observation based on pilot studies that blowing hard against resistance during recording (something called a Valsalva maneuver), affects the lung signal weakening it and even obliterating it as the pressure rises. The investigators hypothesis is that since the signal comes from the blood vessels in the lung, the pressure at which the recorded signal disappears during the Valsalva maneuver represents the blood pressure in the lungs.
This randomised, double-blind phase III trial will be performed in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The objectives of the trial are to compare the efficacy and safety of afatinib (BIBW 2992) with placebo as adjuvant therapy to patients who have received definitive chemo-radiotherapy.
