The Effect High Protein-Fiber Diet With Exercise on Acylated Ghrelin and Leptin in Obese Adolescents

Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Obesity has been reported to impair regulation of appetite and lead uncontrollably hunger and satiety response. Ghrelin is orexigenic hormone from the stomach meanwhile, leptin is anorexigenic from adipose. Interestingly, obesity is associated with acylated ghrelin and leptin resistance. Study about the impact of high protein and fiber with combined exercise (HPFE) to suppress hunger among young obese still unclear. The hypothesis was that high protein-fiber would result in decreased in acylated ghrelin and leptin in HPFE group. Thus, the investigator examined the effect of an 8 weeks HPFE on acylated ghrelin and leptin. Subjects were randomized into four groups: High Protein-Fiber (HPF; n=15). High Protein-Fiber and exercise (HPFE; n=15), Exercise (E; n=15) and control (C; n=15). The diet prescribed 1200 kcal/day, based on basic energy requirement minus 300kcal, consisted high protein (25%) and fiber (30g/day). The exercise is combination aerobic and resistance training, with target 75% heart rate maximum. Plasma acylated ghrelin and leptin were analyzed with enzyme immunoassay.

NCT ID: NCT04374006 Completed - Endometriosis Clinical Trials

NCT ID: NCT04367584 Completed - Acne Vulgaris Clinical Trials

Comparison of Malassezia Spp Proportions in Inflammatory and Non Inflammatory Facial Acne Vulgaris Lesions

Start date: October 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common inflammatory condition involving pilosebaceous unit. The pathogenesis of acne is multifactorial and skin microbiome is considered to be one of the key factors that aggravate inflammation. Malassezia spp is normal flora on the skin and several studies have reported its corelation with inflammatory AV lesion. Malassezia have higher lipase activity compared to Propionibacterium acnes which triggers an increase in free fatty acid and glycerol, the chemotactic factors towards neutrophils and inducing inflammation in AV. Malassezia folliculitis (MF) is sometimes confused with and may present together with AV. Pruritus usually presents in MF but some studies also reported itching as common symptom in AV. The objectives of this study were to identify the presence and the distribution of Malassezia spp. in facial AV lesions, to compare the distribution of Malassezia spp. between inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions and to identify the association between Malassezia spp in acne lesions and pruritus symptom.

NCT ID: NCT04366479 Completed - Physical Fitness Clinical Trials

Endurance Exercise on nrf2 mRNA Expression Gene and VO2max

Start date: May 8, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Indonesian Hajj Health Officers have the responsibility and very important role in providing health services for Indonesian pilgrims during embarkation and debarkation. One of the main indicators of success is they have excellent physical fitness. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of an intervention program by comparing the results of (intervention) intervention groups, namely the effect of physical exercise interventions (endurance exercise) measured before and after the intervention. This research is an intervention study, and I understand that the process of taking blood can occur with fear, pain due to being pricked by a needle, can faint or be infected. However, previous blood pressure tests, sterile collection techniques and performed by experts, are very unlikely to cause side effects.

NCT ID: NCT04364386 Completed - Clinical trials for Post Partum Hemorrhage

Start date: July 27, 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Feasibility trial of the InPress Device to treat postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).

NCT ID: NCT04359719 Completed - Melasma Clinical Trials

Comparison Between Free Thyroxine and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Levels on Melasma Severity

Start date: July 15, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of the study was to compare the level of serum FT4 and TSH in patients with mild melasma and moderate-severe melasma. The determination of melasma lesion could also be known by using Janus II facial analysis UV light and polarization light to analyze the pattern of hyperpigmentation on melasma. This was a descriptive-analytic study used a cross-sectional method that was performed in 2019 at two different dermatology and venerology clinics in Indonesia, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta and Gatot Subroto Army Hospital Jakarta. Forty-eight subjects with melasma, 50% diagnosed with mild melasma and 50% with moderate-severe melasma according to the modified melasma area and severity index (mMASI) score. The level of serum FT4 and TSH were then measured in both groups of the patients.

NCT ID: NCT04348487 Not yet recruiting - Oncology Clinical Trials

Modified Cephalica Venous Access Port Implantation

Start date: May 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

As long term totally implantable central venous access (TIVAPS) was increasingly needed in cancer patient, some modified techniques were introduced to improved the outcome and safety of the port implantation. In this modified technique, the prioritization were the safety and stability of catheter and port placement. Catheter was inserted to the cephalic vein in the deltopectoral groove, in which connected to the port pocket implanted in the anteromedial thorax. Connection was done by percutaenous and Seldinger technique by introducing a special trocar to ensure safety. Long term outcome was satisfactorily good by this technique without and major and minor events.
