There are about 11256 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Egypt. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Acute poisoning is a major health problem that leads to emergent hospital admission. It has become the main factor that harms children and leads to disability and death of children. Also, it is still a serious issue in developing countries where it represents a common cause of emergency department presentation and admission. Acute poisoning can be divided into two categories (accidental and intentional),accidental poisoning is common in children under five years, whereas intentional poisoning is more common in adolescents, WHO estimated that, in 2016, accidental poisoning caused 106,683 deaths and the loss of 6.3 million years of healthy life. A study in Romania showed that intentional poisoning is the most common cause of poisoning among teenagers. Females are more vulnerable to suicidal or intentional poisoning than males. Medications, alcohol, and substance abuse are common poisoning agents among teenagers , another study at tertiary Indian hospital, pesticides, pharmaceutical drugs, and household products were the most common types of acute poisoning. Pesticides were reported as a cause of intentional and accidental poisoning. In agricultural areas, people were poisoned accidentally by pesticides that may be used for suicidal attempts because of their availability. Pharmaceutical drugs are also used for intentional poisoning due to the availability of street drugs and over-the-counter medications. Accidental poisoning by household products were observed in children and the most common products are hydrocarbon and naphthalene In Egypt acute poisoning represents a significant proportion of emergency visits of children and young people. This labors a burden on healthcare, society and economy and thus, it drain-s resources and multiplies workload . In fact, it is a preventable cause of morbidity and mortality. Children poisoning is a result of multiple risk factors including social, demographic, and industrial factors. Insufficient public awareness, easy accessibility to poison, negligence of caregivers, technological and industrial advances and even the nature of the environment are of the main causes.
Around 26 million people suffer from heart failure (HF) globally, and the prevalence is increasing with an increasing longevity, prevalence of risk factors, and improved survival in patients with cardiovascular diseases In Egypt, HF is the primary cause of hospitalization among patients aged > 65 years . Hospitalization for HF is associated with a high mortality and rate of re-hospitalization . Around 75% patients with HF have ≥ 1 comorbidity, and these comorbidities make overall clinical outcomes worse . In a recent meta-analysis, patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) were suggested to have a two-fold increase in the risk of HF . DM is present in ~ 35% patients hospitalized with acute HF . Multiple factors such as ischemia, hypertension, and extracellular fluid volume expansion are involved in the pathogenesis of HF in DM.
We aim to investigate the value of vitamin B (B1, B6, B9, B12) on post-cesarean section analgesia in addition to the standard opioid-sparing multimodal regimen to achieve more robust analgesia with minimal side effects.
the goal of this study is to Investigate the correlation between neck pain and visual disturbances in smartphone users.
To compare the result of mini monaka to perforated plug and 3 snip punctoplasty in management of punctal stenosis.
Comparison between the results of laparotomy and laparoscopy in adhesive intestinal obstruction and introduce the use of laparoscopy to the emergency setting in Asyut University Hospital.
Background: With regard to patients with thoracic outlet syndrome (GBS), it is important to improve inspiratory muscle strength and endurance, and pain perception in patients with TOS, so that patients are able to regain pulmonary function and endurance. Objective: To investigate the impact of osteopathic interventions on respiratory parameters and pain levels in individuals diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). Subjects and methods: forty adults after the onset of TOS will be assigned randomly into two equal groups. In Group A will be allocated to traditional physical therapy program, three sessions/week in addition to 60-minute sessions of Osteopathic technique, one session/week for 3 months, group B will receive traditional physical therapy program, three sessions/week for 3 months. Selected respiratory parameters by spirometer, maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP) and a visual analogue scale of pain severity, measured at baseline and after 3 months.
Background: The impact of stroke at the time of diagnosis is on the attention and executive functions, which may be impaired at various post-stroke intervals. Objective: To improve Cognitive Function in Elderly Stroke Patients through Task Oriented Training. Subjects and methods: Forty Elderly stroke patients from both sexes assigned randomly into two equal groups. In Group A were allocated to task oriented training in addition to traditional physical therapy program, group B received traditional physical therapy program, three sessions/week for 3 months. Cognitive Function assessed by Reha-com device, Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination Revised (ACE-R) test and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA), measured at baseline and after 3 months.
To evaluate the intraocular pressure reduction effect of combined gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) with goniosynechialysis in eyes with secondary synechial angle closure glaucoma.
the goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate laser biostimulation effect on osseointegration of implant covered by PRF(platelet rich fibrin) in controlled diabetic patients with compromised healing potential. METHODS: The study was conducted on type 2 controlled diabetic patients receiving 22 implants covered with PRF inserted in posterior maxilla or mandible. Implants were divided randomly into 2 groups. Group1: control group (received no laser irradiation), group2: received diode laser. Peri-implant new bone density and secondary stability were assessed using cone-beam computed tomography and Anycheck device respectively. Density was evaluated immediately post implant insertion and after 5 months, while implant stability was performed 5 months post implant insertion. Statistical analysis was executed significance level P ≤ 0.05.
