There are about 11256 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Egypt. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are procedures successfully applied to manage various end-stage chronic hip and knee diseases, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and femoral head avascular necrosis, as well as acute conditions, such as the neck of femur fractures, with excellent long-term functional outcomes. One of the devastating complications after such a procedure is periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). Various precautions are proposed to guard against such complications; one is the administration of perioperative antibiotics. However, injudicious or misuse of antibiotics could lead to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, further complicating this matter. This is why various scientific and research organizations have proposed guidelines and a consensus for proper antibiotic use in perioperative THA and TKA surgery. Antibiotic prophylaxis during primary THA and TKA can reduce the risk of PJI and surgical site infections. However, there is a lack of consensus on the optimal dosages and duration of prophylaxis, and guidelines vary among institutions. Alternatives such as extended oral antibiotic prophylaxis and different antibiotic regimens are being explored. International research is needed to establish best practices and determine the potential risks of antibiotic prophylaxis during primary THA and TKA. Unfortunately, the investigators are unaware of such guidelines proposed by any Egyptian health authority to guide and control the proper utilization of antibiotics during orthoapedic practice in general and joint replacement surgeries (THA and TKA) in particular.
Two groups of patient with horizontally deficient anterior maxilla indicated for bone augmentation ,one will be subjected to autogenous onlay bone block from retromolar bone and the other to cortical shell from retromolar bone also.

Walking is the most familiar form of exercise, the calf muscle plays an important role in the stance phase of the normal gait cycle of gait. The relative contribution of the calf muscle to the total positive work of the lower extremities during walking is approximately 51% and 73% in the elderly and younger people respectively. This study will explore the different types of calf muscle activation during normal gait cycle based on the previous literature and will introduce a new proposition in the biomechanics of calf muscle contraction..Also, this study will address the role of this muscle during gait and the effects of calf muscle weakness on the lumbar spine.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease involving multiple organs, characterized by the production of autoantibodies and the development of tissue injury. The etiology of SLE is partially known, involving multiple genetic and environmental factors. As many as 50% of patients with SLE have neurological involvement during the course of their disease. Approximately 40% of neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) cases are a consequence of the disease itself; other causes of NPSLE are infections, metabolic disorders, and side effects of drugs. The American College of Rheumatology identified 19 neuropsychiatric syndromes in SLE patients that can be divided into central and peripheral nervous system manifestations. Although this classification includes syndromes with no clear pathophysiological mechanism and is not specific for neuropsychiatric events caused exclusively by SLE, it helps the physician to recognize any neurological involvement . The most common clinical manifestations of juvenile neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) are headache, cognitive dysfunction, mood disturbances and seizures. The pathophysiology of juvenile NPSLE is not yet fully known, but immunological and inflammatory factors, such as autoantibodies, cytokine and prothrombotic states are widely described . The technique of intravenous regional analgesia using a tourniquet consisting of two cuffs over the upper arm is a well-known procedure, With the tourniquet being conventionally placed over the upper arm, a relatively high dose of local anaesthetic drug is required and occasionally systemic toxic reactions have occurred. The purpose of the present study is to establish the efficacy of the technique of intravenous regional analgesia with a forearm tourniquet using reduced doses of lidocaine.
Most of the recommendations regarding pain management in emergency abdominal surgery are extracted from data from elective abdominal surgery. However, surgery in the emergency settings differs from the elective settings in the extent stress and the pain which is usually present preoperatively; therefore, it is expected to have different analgesic requirements and different response to pain management interventions in emergency surgery. Abdominal wall blocks are increasingly used in abdominal surgery. However, data regarding their efficacy in emergency setting are lacking. Oblique-subcostal transversus abdominis plane block (OS-TAPB) is a variation of the subcostal TAPB that could achieve effective analgesia for both upper and lower parts of the abdomen. The TAPB characterized by being easy to perform and does not require patient repositioning. Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is another abdominal wall block that showed good analgesic effect following various elective open abdominal surgeries, but the block requires patient repositioning before block performance. In elective abdominal surgeries, the current evidence slightly supports ESPB over the TAPB. We hypothesize that the difference between the two blocks would be more apparent in in emergency surgery due to the type of incision, extent of tissue manipulation, and severity of pain.
