There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a common health problem that leads to frequent hospitalizations and an increased death rate. In spite of advances in drug therapy, it remains a significant public health problem. Recently, a new therapy has been developed for advanced heart failure patients with a ventricular conduction abnormality. This new therapy, called cardiac resynchronization (CRT), is a device which stimulates the atrium, the right ventricle, and the left ventricle providing synchronization of the contraction of the heart chambers. It is the addition of this therapy to an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) that will be evaluated in this study. This study will compare whether the implantation of this new therapy device, in combination with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, will reduce total mortality and hospitalizations for CHF.
Glucosamine sulphate causes no changes in blood levels of cholesterol
Patients with cirrhosis have a altered cardiac response to stress. This study evaluate the cardiac response by MRI during dobutamine stress. Hypothesis: impared increase in cardiac output, cardiac index, ejection fraction.
Human papillomavirus infection has clearly been recognized as the cause of cervical cancer. Indeed, the infection of the cervix by certain oncogenic types of HPV, if not cleared , can lead over time to cervical cancer in women . This study will compare the immune response induced by different lots of the HPV-16/18 L1/AS04 vaccine, following adjustments to the manufacturing process.
A new method for localization of the prostate during external beam radiotherapy. The method is based on insertion of a new thermo-expandable Ni-Ti stent. The radiological properties of the stent are used for precise prostate localization during treatment using electronic portal images
The purpose of this study is to determine if the combination of clopidogrel 75mg once daily (od) plus aspirin 100mg daily (recommended dose) is better than aspirin alone (100mg daily recommended dose) for preventing vascular events such as stroke and heart attack during approximately three years of follow-up in patients with atrial fibrillation associated with at least one major risk factor of vascular event such as elderly, blood pressure increase, history of stroke or transient ischemic attack or left ventricular dysfunction etc. The study will also accept patients with atrial fibrillation and unwilling to take oral anticoagulant therapy.
The purpose of this study was to determine if Irbesartan compared to Placebo would reduce the risk of vascular events such as heart attack, stroke, non-cerebral thromboembolic event and death in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and with at least one major risk of vascular events.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of pitavastatin with that of atorvastatin.
This evaluation is being conducted to evaluate the performance of the ASR arthroplasty. The performance of the devices will be assessed by: Clinical parameters: pain, function, satisfaction and complications. Blood samples: Analyse of metal ions, lymphocyte migration, lymphocyte proliferation assay and cytokines. Biopsies: Metal ions, cytokines and histology. Biomechanics: Strength, gait analysis, range of motion. Scanning: DEXA and MRI
Eligible patients will be post-menopausal hormone receptor- and lymph node-positive females who recently underwent primary surgery for breast cancer. Patients will be randomized to letrozole (2.5 mg per day for 5 years) vs anastrozole (1 mg per day for 5 years). Follow up will occur for 5 years after the completion of enrollment for survival and disease status updates.
